Played Steep and SSX, and this thing is straight up blast, honestly i didnt expect from Ubi too much, but wanted something like Steep but, better, bigger and Riders Republic does it, infinite amount of fun but what i have to point out due to the Ubi's and other companies lack of optimizing game, this game rocks 60FPS on low with i5 and GTX980 and the game on SSD (and it still looks beautiful) without bigger drops, and even the 64 man race works flawlessly, IMO this is definetely a good game from Ubi with lot of potential and i hope for more good content and updates!

Steep was a great game to just mindlessly mess around in and this looks like that amplified and brought into the future so it'll be great to have this is the library some day for when I'm not feeling like having to engage in a story or battle the other sweats
i tested both closed alpha, closed beta and open beta. the game is showing improvement every step of the way and i quiet enjoy the game as it feels like 1 of a kind. sure there are some dumb glitches but those added laughter and memorable moments to it instead of frustration. if it seems fun to you, i definitely would say go for it
Got to admit the silliness of costumes and especially the Multi Race is it selling point. Also it can be a pain on your butt just to go for every stars in all challenges without proper guidance, players will find themselves lost and replay the same challenge very more often.
"Fan parachute"? It's called paramotor. It's an actual sport. As someone who's obsessed with it that sport but can't afford to get into it, that's what initially made me excited for this game

There is already an xgames course with a challenge along side it, hopefully olympics gets added but they are definitely a lot stricter with their license
oh dang, you mentioned all the old games i grew up on at the end. this game’s blowing my mind in the same way thps 1 and 2 and skate 1 did. it feels like such new territory, and a whole new world’s opened up!
The only thing i need for this game to be perfect is an option to continue 1st person during rotations and flips because steep made it work pretty well
it wont. It feels like a loud cartoony take on these sports. People seem to like that, which is fine, but i don't. It makes me miss Steep, badly. Iv'e gone back and playd Steep since the RR Beta and Steep is just better, flat out. The real issue with Steep is the lack of career/structure/goals, etc, but after 14 hours in RR i beat all the career races and dont really feel like there's much else to do. Glad I only played it on Ubisoft+, i'd be pisssed if i spent $60
No kidding, I JUST started playing STEEP last week!! WHAT A FANTASTIC GAME! I think I grabbed on deep discount and forgot about it, only to realize I have missed out on years of fun.
@@colebuckhart Yeah i totally agree! i purchased steep when it released and i still highly enjoy playing it, trying to learn new tricks and grab-combinations. But in my opinion, riders republic just dont give me the same vibe that steep did ;(. It seems too floppy and arcady in my opinion :(
I loved Steep. Played for hours and hours on end when it released and this game lives up to it. It’s different, but it feels like steep. Yes, there’s things I prefer about steep gameplay wise and environment but Riders is so much more streamlined and way more to do. Infact there’s so much to do in Riders, it can get overwhelming. The career mode AND online are super fun and the exploration is better than steep as there’s more to see. The arcadey aspect took some getting used to it but it makes for super satisfying racing
This game was on my radar since it were first announced. Although I was really looking forward to a steep 2 ( which I though RR was going to be) this game will do!!!!!! It’s truly an extreme sports game that we haven’t had a a long time. This is just the beginning of Rider Republic and I’m here for the journey!!.
Never been a big fan of sports games, but I keep hearing and seeing great things about this one, and it looks super fun. Actually might consider getting it for a change of pace. 👍
Played the 4 hours and it wasnt long enough. Really enjoyed this game apart from some of the respawns when u crash and it puts you back to the same spot so you crash again. Visually stunning and really good fun 👍
Was pretty disappointed when I realized nobody I was playing with was real. Also no point in racing anyone till you grind about 72 hours for better equipment.
@@R1sk1t-B1sk1t nope, you either gotta go to Mass Race events or find the multiplayer lobby finder in the Ridge Arena I think it’s called. If you see anyone in free roam with a gold icon above them, they’re real at least. But everyone else isn’t.
As a person who grew up on games, and Tony hawk, and other games. I decided to take a plunge and buy it on ps5, especially since i found it on clearance brand new for 15 bucks at my local Walmart! Can't wait to install it
I want a Skate version of this. Tight and precise controls with dialed tricking all the x-treme sports on a big map. Hopefully the new Skate will deliver more than just skating now that this is doing well
the free event really scratched my Forza Horizon itch, but imo the steering control isnt granular enough. ive often found myself taking corners way harder than i actually needed nor wanted to. ive even tried it out while going slowly, the steering really isnt linear at all.
I agree. The down hill mountain biking is hands down my favorite and I always do that in first person. The rest of the game is amazing because it combines a lot of the national parks all in one map then also if you hit those Vista spots hive you a bit of history. Definitely use those as a way to plan a trip through national parks for sure.
I think us mountain bikers need a downhill mtb game which is like a realistic simulator, say like there was the proper world cup circuit and you can do different levels of braking on how hard you pull the triggers as i feel like its to slidy the braking in these games and different types of whips, for example like scrubs and moto whips not just the usual whip. (I think moto games like mx implement this well). Also there needs to be difficult technical riding to do and to not make the tracks real wide and road like, and you can like pull up over gaps and has good graphics. (You can also implement like crankworks events and different bike parks to session with mates. like maybe have a select amount of worlds best bike parks that have been copied excaclty into the game. You could also have proper bike brands and cool custimization, like picking teams and kits and switching out parts on your bike) (Coming from a mtb rider in real life this is what i'm looking for in a game). idk really just a cool suggestion I though of.
I love love loooove Steep. I looked forward to RR for a few years, but ended up putting down the controller for a few years because of work and school. Finally getting the chance to play this.
i got this game yesterday, wanted to play for a bit and see what it's like and ended up playing for 3+ hours. 😅 as you can probably tell i had more fun with it than i thought i would have. i can't wait to play some more and see whats coming in the days ahead. as always, great video! seeya, fellow riders. :)
That's exactly how I felt. It reminded me of ssx, one of my all time favorites. But the awkward placed checkpoints and cutscenes exhausted me a bit lol. If it goes on sale I'd definitely pick it up. Ps: I've only played the beta so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
I played Steep and having to watch unskipable cut-scenes and screens full of text when I just want to ski/ride around is killing the game for me. Steep had it right with letting people organically discover events not forcing it down peoples throats. BTW the actual game when you get into it is good.
I got bored of racing games and I was never very big on sports games, but i desperately want this. It looks like the most fun game I've ever seen in my life. I cant wait to play this.
As someone who skis and mtn bikes a lot I loved steep and it’s massive variety of terrain and semi realism. Riders republic being the sequel to that got me really excited. Can’t wait to buy this
I am HOOKED on this game. I'm not really into competitive games, but this one is by far the least stressful competitive game I've played. Just the joy of barreling down a hill between trees at full speed completely takes my mind off of whether I'm winning or losing against the other players. Can't recommended this game enough to any action sports fan.
The game is super fun, I just wish the physics and controls weren't trash. To expand on that a bit, the biking does feel the best, but it's still an inferior experience to Descenders, which is way more satisfying to master.
Id reccomend giving it a few more hours, as someone who has played both games im prefering riders republic especially when you get better gear that feels more responsive
@@lcaskipsteep7269 I'll probably pick it up when it goes on sale or hits Games Pass, because I'm not sure that it's deserving of $60. I still don't think better gear will solve my criticism of the controls not being great though, as I really prefer the mechanics in Descenders - they're just a little more fluid. Rider's Republic has far more interesting and fun terrain, however.
@@Marius_ae I'm not sure what those are, unfortunately. I am more recently getting back into action sports games. I was playing the demo on expert difficulty, with manual landings and trickster controls. Is that close to Steep settings?
@@Black_Sheep_0213 no, there are three presets. Racer, Trickster and Steep. Steep controls lets you throw flips with L2 and R2, spins with L1 and R1 instead of square, triangle etc (PlayStation ). You can also control the direction of the tricks with your left analog stick. Steep landing setting is a middle ground between manual and auto. It will not assist you during the trick, but will try to correct the landing angle when you release the trick button. This means that you will still have to try your best at landing correctly, but it will be a bit more forgiving than manual while still giving more creative control of the tricks compared to auto landing.
Little update for those who are watching this and wondering what changed: A Jumbo bike was added, which has big tires with insane absorption designed for snow, a freestyle snowmobile you can do tricks with, a snowskate (a snowboard skateboard mix), and a new BMX sport, along with a big BMX park in the middle of the desert that’s basically Area 51 (Named Area 52), and also a new multiplayer mode called Showdown, where you collect Lightning Bolts scattered across the arena and bring them to your goal. There are three bikes you can use: one that crashes into people and knocks them over, one that shoots people with snowballs, and one that can lay mines and has a double jump. Then they added a season system at one point, where you collect stars to get new gear that changes every few months. In year two, so far we have a dlc pack that adds new events and an outfit, plus a hoverboard that is unmoved by gravity or any surface. Then live events were added, basically modified versions of existing events with forced gear, that change every week. More recently came live areas, where you have to beat a certain score under the time limit. At one point they changed the Tricks Battle system, making it so that you can no longer score points on modules (essentially structures like ramps and grinds used to score points) that are captured by your current team, and captured districts (areas that have modules in them) no longer give your team a multiplier, instead just a big chunk of points. (Personal opinion: the new change sucks. It slows down the game and makes it less chaotic and fun.) And at the time of writing this, the current season is less than a month from over, and skateboards will be added in the next season.
The amount of bugs is way too important to not be quoted. I've just started the game an hour ago and felt under the map at least 10 times. I just had to force the game to close as it was impossible to get out of a point of view cinematic made of a black screen. I can't believe this game is 8 months old.
Honestly just wanted to hear your thoughts, I got it already played the trial and that the betas flatout, it's just a nice break from all the other games coming out
Kudos as always to the texture artists and world builders, but ubisoft is spread way too thin. I’m a little disappointed with how the snow effects are still clipping, despite years since steep. Just a lack of engine polish.

ITS NOT A RACING A GAME!! Its mainly about freestyle riding and doing creative tricks on some sick mountains and spots. Appreciate the graphics this game looks so good and they have done a great job making the game exciting. I am a BMX rider for 6-7 years now and to hear that they will also add BMX later on is so exciting. ENJOY...
If it’s not a racing game then why are they racing in it
@@Comic_Geek2001 yeah okay it includes racing and i agree that saying that its not a racing game is not true. But the guy in the vid stresses out only the races where the game is freestyle based and if u pay attention to the vid ull realize he does the same trick everytime whenever he does a trick.

Played Steep and SSX, and this thing is straight up blast, honestly i didnt expect from Ubi too much, but wanted something like Steep but, better, bigger and Riders Republic does it, infinite amount of fun but what i have to point out due to the Ubi's and other companies lack of optimizing game, this game rocks 60FPS on low with i5 and GTX980 and the game on SSD (and it still looks beautiful) without bigger drops, and even the 64 man race works flawlessly, IMO this is definetely a good game from Ubi with lot of potential and i hope for more good content and updates!

i tested both closed alpha, closed beta and open beta. the game is showing improvement every step of the way and i quiet enjoy the game as it feels like 1 of a kind. sure there are some dumb glitches but those added laughter and memorable moments to it instead of frustration. if it seems fun to you, i definitely would say go for it
Got to admit the silliness of costumes and especially the Multi Race is it selling point.

I feel like Riders Republic was made for me as someone who's a HUGE extreme sports fan.I personally would love an x games DLC or an Olympic DLC like what ubisoft did for steep.
The only thing i need for this game to be perfect is an option to continue 1st person during rotations and flips because steep made it work pretty well
I absoutely adored Steep, I hope this gives me the same feeling that game did.
I can see myself playing this as a casual game to play to fill the void of waiting for another Skate to be made
that free beta was fun as hell
Anyway, is a perfect comeback for DOWNHILL DOMINATION & SSX games❤🎉
I only bought this game because i miss DOWNHILL DOMINATION on ps2
This game was on my radar since it were first announced. Although I was really looking forward to a steep 2 ( which I though RR was going to be) this game will do!!!!!! It’s truly an extreme sports game that we haven’t had a a long time. This is just the beginning of Rider Republic and I’m here for the journey!!.
Never been a big fan of sports games, but I keep hearing and seeing great things about this one, and it looks super fun. Actually might consider getting it for a change of pace. 👍

You have to get better gear I shred through sharp turn without even having to break
@@TonyGlucose thats not the point i made tho.
Ubisoft is utterly incapable of creating characters that don't make your wanna implode from cringe
I agree. The down hill mountain biking is hands down my favorite and I always do that in first person. The rest of the game is amazing because it combines a lot of the national parks all in one map then also if you hit those Vista spots hive you a bit of history. Definitely use those as a way to plan a trip through national parks for sure.
If you see this play Descenders it’s way better for downhill biking
@@ashleybatt3523 no it isn’t. As a mountain biker of 30 years it’s crap in comparison it’s like an arcade game from the ps2 era it’s terrible
Any update man? How you enjoying it? Just bought it and it’s downloading now
i like it it's a ton of fun!
Hated Steep - loving this so far. Definitely has that “Arcady” feel I was looking for.
That's exactly how I felt. It reminded me of ssx, one of my all time favorites. But the awkward placed checkpoints and cutscenes exhausted me a bit lol. If it goes on sale I'd definitely pick it up.
Ps: I've only played the beta so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
it's on 50% sale now, ultimate edition is $59.99 on Epic store
I played Steep and having to watch unskipable cut-scenes and screens full of text when I just want to ski/ride around is killing the game for me. Steep had it right with letting people organically discover events not forcing it down peoples throats. BTW the actual game when you get into it is good.
I got bored of racing games and I was never very big on sports games, but i desperately want this. It looks like the most fun game I've ever seen in my life. I cant wait to play this.
This games quiet cool I don't even usually like these kind of games, there's so much to do it's quite overwhelming but in a good way

i really enjoyed the trial week. i'm eager to see where they take this game over time with a little more polish and added content.

Just bought this game today based off this review. It is so much fun
In love with this game. I love the grounded arcady feel of the game. I’m glad it’s not too realistic, just a blast to play.
Imagine skate 4 with these graphics...
This game looks wild!!! Love everything on 2 wheels. Bonus points if it's got a motor! 🔥💪
I really hope they update the map adding more and more national parks as the seasons progress
Give it a try on full steep settings, so much better.
Half off right now. Thinking about it.
I just played through Steep and got into this one just today. So happy the community is still active
The amount of bugs is way too important to not be quoted. I've just started the game an hour ago and felt under the map at least 10 times. I just had to force the game to close as it was impossible to get out of a point of view cinematic made of a black screen. I can't believe this game is 8 months old.
