    I don't expect the yoke to feel like the "real" thing but I do expect it to be learnable like any other game controller. The stickiness however is not consistent nor learnable, it just ruins an otherwise great product. There is much to like about the VelocityOne so I'm considering voiding my warranty, opening it up and having a look-see at what is causing this issue. It's not a software or sensor problem, it is physical one that involves the support and detent of the yoke tube. It may not be so hard to solve because you will notice the tube does not rotate, it only moves in and out. Wish me luck.

      I have same problem , its really not great when trying to land smoothly , the sticking is a game breaker for me. Some features are good , but yoke stickiness is pathetic . Am going to upgrade to the boeing yoke.

    • @pi.actual
      @pi.actual Рік тому +1

      @@brownhornet113 Agree it's unacceptable and I'm sure that when people claim it gets better over time it's just the development of muscle memory where you learn to exert a leftward force when you pull on the yoke. It's the off-center force on the yoke horn that causes the binding. Doesn't do it if you pull in the center. Once you master this it does get a lot better.

      @@electricpassmountain I actually did fix the problem and you don't have to open the unit or do any permanent modifications. I simply attached two spring loaded screen door rollers at 5 and 7 o'clock with a worm clamp around the yoke flange. All it needs is a bit of support to take the load off the bushings and it's smooth as silk.

    I just bought this December 2022 - And the yoke is perfect, everything works great and well worth the £550 for the whole flight system with rudder.

    I might get the rudder pedals, atleast wish them for christmas. The thing is i have a joystick and by twisting it that controls rudders, but i feel like with rudder pedals it could feel a little better using rudder

    • @BluGames

      I used to use the twist also but Rudder Pedals are a game changer for sure.

    The stickiness of the Yoke does loosen up over time, but its never going to feel like the "real thing". What yoke does, outside from a $30K simulator? I wouldn't call it a deal breaker because with use and time an habituation effect, along with motor memory develops, and the Yoke can be used without distraction.

    • @BluGames
      @BluGames  2 роки тому +8

      Sup TJ yea this is true, will never take the place of the real thing. But i have felt the real thing, and i have tried multiple other yokes for flight sim and they all feel different but this is “personally” the least “smooth” one.

      I dunno. I flew several Cessnas and Beechcraft aircraft with sticky yokes. Nothing dangerous but rather a consideration for aging aircraft as some of them have been 50-60 years old. (Former aircraft dealer and current Learjet 40/45 pilot)

    for people who get this yoke, by default throttle 1 on the quadrant controls all 4 engines for whatever 4 engine jet you fly...

    How solid is the yoke where it meets the shaft? I mean in the location where the 180 degree rotation is happening. Is there any bending happening there or is it rock solid?

  • @nickmyatt

    Ive had mine for more than a year and the sticky pitch issues have not gotten any better at all. Im at the point of getting rid of it. I pretty much have to use the trim wheel for all pitch. Such a joke.

  • @jhallock

    Turtle Beach says that it's supposed to be sticky when new because it has to be broken in with the bearing design on the yoke pitch. Not fair to knock that as a negative when it's guaranteed to go away IMO, nice review otherwise 👌

    • @trialobite8573
      @trialobite8573 Рік тому +19

      This is a one year later review, if they aren’t broken in after a year then it’s definitely a fair critique!

    • @PumpUptheJam81
      @PumpUptheJam81 Рік тому +11

      Any “new bearing” in any device or machine should never be sticky, especially after a year of use. It is a poor design and the “guarantee” is that it will be out of warranty once you realize it will never improve.
