    I mean, this is actually a very calm arrest. Everyone let each other talk and the guy, without too much fuss, was put in cuffs. Overall very calm.

    If the gun went off when you handed it to someone else, that means it wasn’t on safe, round in the chamber with your finger on the trigger. Not believable imo. Cop was right. Dude was drinking and had a gun.

      Cops do it all the time. Drunk and carrying a gun, on duty or off. That is like saying you shouldn't carry a pocket knife if you are drunk because you might pull it out and stab someone. So if you are drinking you shouldn't have a knife and if you say yes it shows me you must lack control over yourself. I didn't see, (you have the right to bare arms except when you are drinking.) I'm lucky, I don't drink.

      Its in the training...cops have been taught not to mention arrest until they have clicked that last cuff on.Its saved many fights and unnecessary pursuits by revealing the arrest after the restraints go on.

      I believe him, that he was a ranger. And that's what makes his explanation nonsense. I.e., the discharge wasn't accidental, because he knows exactly what firearms safety requires. It's not only intellectual knowledge for him, but muscle memory, so that he really went out of his way to fire that gun. That's my suspicion.

      Yeah, it means that, somewhere in his head, thoughts were going in a bad direction. Better that he be in jail overnight and get a judge tell him that he's been dumb the next morning.     Tbh, he is lucky he walked away with a domestic. He could have been nailed for unlawful discharge, brandishing, possession of a firearm while intoxicated, and/or criminal threats. Glad everything was worked out calmly and fairly in the end.

The gun and other things including her pressing charges added up to domestic charges, in court its called "Reasonable Suspicion Beyond Articulated Facts" that the crime based on each statement was enought to believe her and the other guy. As in theyre stories wasnt 100% good but based on what he did have, he could articulate a crime took place rather it did or not

    "I'm an ex-ranger. Is she dead?" That's where things went irreversibly bad for that guy. The casual way he said that tells you that he was thinking about it and makes the 'accidental discharge' story a bit less believable.
    My gut feeling was that it was intended as intimidation.

    I don't like how the husband and his friend downplayed the gun and the threats to kill the boyfriend. Too many times in these situations the friends and family try to protect the aggressor from consequences. The wife said its not the first incident of violence from him. Stop protecting these violent criminals from their own actions!

      Yeah it's a very great area with domestic violence. My friend got stabbed at his house, by his ex, he slapped her to get her away...and he was the one who went to jail. The charges were dropped and she was charged with attempted 1st degree manslaughter, but he shouldn't have even been charged in the first place.

      Tyler Rodgers I agree the police usually take the women’s side, however here, you can tell he was a bit unruley before the officer showed up and regardless of that, a firearm was still discharged irresponsibly near children due to an argument While he was Intoxicated. He had no reason to show up and cause a scene. Should’ve been charged with domestic and reckless discharge of a firearm
