The driver experience is different. With manual, it's more exciting because you know you can mess it up. With auto, there is an expectation from the car. Hope vs demand. Hope is funner because you feel accomplished. You have a smile at the end of it, self esteem and confidence booster.
...driver error. Not everyone is incapable of spinning tires. If all you care about are numbers, sure. I prefer to have actual driving technique and possibly danger. (at least when there isn't a lot of traffic...clutches suck in traffic)

I have had a BMW with DCT and I would take a manual any day of the week. I don't care if it is slightly slower, the extra connection and involvement is worth it.
The DCT is an amazing transmission and lightning fast. Not discounting manuals at all.

Depends what you want. If you go to track often and want faster lap time go for the dct and if you enjoy driving in the bends go for the manual.

It was a standing start for my guy Manuel. DCT executed rolling start and I think both did a very good job accelerating, but Manual feels faster.
Who cares about speed, we care about how many smiles per hour the car makes
