- This video answers the question: Can I talk about the Casey Anthony murder? Casey Anthony was charged with killing her two-year-old daughter, Caylee Anthony. This crime allegedly took place in 2008. I'll be taking a look at a lot of different factors in this case including potential mental health and personality factors, but just to be clear I'm not diagnosing Casey Anthony or anyone else involved in this case.
In 2008, Casey Anthony was 18 years old and Caylee Anthony her daughter was 2 years old. They lived with Casey's parents, Cindy and George Anthony. From an outside observer’s point of view, this case started on July 15, 2008, when Cindy Anthony called the police and reported that her granddaughter was missing for 31 days.
The next day charges of making a false statement to law enforcement were filed against Casey as she lied during the investigation.
in October of 2015, she would be charged with first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, and aggravated manslaughter of a child. In December, in a wooded area near their house, Caylee's body was discovered. The trial which started in 2011. There were really two theories of the crime that kind of emerged. On the state side their theory was that Casey bought chloroform used it on Caylee and then suffocated her and on the defense side they said that it was an accidental drowning. The prosecution rested on June 15, 2011 and 15 days later the defense rested. The jury found that Casey Anthony was not guilty of any of the homicide or homicide related charges, but rather providing false information to a law enforcement officer. So she was convicted of four counts of lying to law enforcement and sentenced to one year per count, but when taking into account how long she'd already been in jail and the good behavior time she'd earned, she was released shortly after the verdict.

I watched that trial and the state had a representative from Cindy Anthony’s employer come in and prove that Cindy was at her desk at work when those searches were done on the home computer. She was entering items on her work computer under her name at that time. I don’t think he knows anything. Sounds like he’s watched highlights.

This video is wrong about her background history: She flunked outta school, didn’t tell her parents until graduation time, they covered for Casey and gave her a graduation party with family and lied. She covered up her pregnancy until 2 weeks before giving birth.
The is wrong on some of the case facts too. It was proven to be Caylee’s hair in the trunk and it was just speculated by defense that the searches were a software error and they searched when Cindy was clocked in at work, so it was for sure Casey. Also searched fool proof suffocation right around the time Caylee died but it wasn’t found until later.
Definitely a strange family. I think all that shows that George and Cindy never held Casey accountable for ANYTHING and wanted always to believe the best in their daughter. But look where it got them. A spoiled brat whose only concern is for herself . They raised a pure narcissist in every definition of the word.
Yes, sadly they did. She is a pure narcissist and probably a murderer as well. And not just any murderer. A child murderer. Her own child. But we will never know the truth of what happened to poor Caylee.
Yes, I remember this. She had a whole history of lies, and of her family leaning toward helping covering up her lies when they found out. They were overprotective even in that.

She searched ' suffocation ' and ' fool proof suffocation ' on the day before police suspect she murdered her daughter. I don't think I've ever seen such an obvious case go wrong. Unbelievable.
They did not have this information at the time when the trial was happening! They've searched her internet explorer browser history and did not find any of this stuff. Later on it turned out she was using firefox browser from another account and searched for these words but it was too little too late! Now its not possible to bring this case back to court anymore.

@Michael Evans It is also quite mishandled in the U.S. If a person's diary was legally obtained during a search, and relevant to the charges, it is fair game to use against a criminal defendant. However, typically only the relevant entries will be admissible as evidence. In the U.S. each state has its own rules of evidence and federal courts have the federal rules of evidence. And of course, first, you have to prove who wrote the diary, that’s a separate issue. This comment section is not enough to go through all of the key parts. The answer to whether a personal diary can be used in court as proof, which technically is called evidence, is it depends. In this case, the jury did not find direct connections between the diary's content and the charges.
It is florida, almost anything can and does happen there.

In regards to her parents not reporting Caylee missing even though they lived with them. Casey and Cindy had a big blowout right before Caylee was last seen and Cindy was saying she was going to fight for custody of Caylee. Casey went to stay at her boyfriend's and kept coming up with excuses for her parents. Caylee was with the nanny, they went on a trip, etc. Though her parents didn't really believe it, they just thought Casey was trying to punish them for the fight by keeping Caylee away. So, they had finally nailed down Casey's location and Cindy forced Casey to admit she didn't have Caylee and Cindy finally called 911. Side note: Casey never reported her daughter missing, her mother did, and Casey didn't even want to talk to the 911 dispatcher.

The parents didn’t wait 31 days to call police. They called police the first day they discovered she was missing. There was a lot of testimony during the trial where the mom tried to see or even talk to Caylee the entire time but Casey had one excuse or another. The parents were told by Casey that she and Caylee were with friends enjoying theme parks and traveling.
The fact that she didn’t report her missing after 31 days is all the evidence you need

The prosecution produced overwhelming evidence in support of murder--a dead baby with it's mouth covered with duct tape in a few trash bags thrown into nearby woods and a mother who didn't report her missing and consistently lied to her friends, parents, and police. The defense produced a cooky theory about an accidental drowning and a loving mother throwing her child's body into the woods to allow it to decompose and let the animals eat it while she entered a Hot Body Contest at a bar to console herself in her grief.
This jury would have bought oceanfront property in Arizona from the defense attorney because they had to sit in that courtroom for months and he made it interesting. They didn't adjudicate on evidence. The facts just weren't as interesting as a far out narrative. I wouldn't be surprised if all the jurors in the case haven't joined a cult at this point.

I was just going back looking at some old cases. That's so true! As excellent as Dr. Todd is, he left out some important things in his post-trial fact finding summary. The biggie being that um.. a DEAD BODY was confirmed to have been in the back of her car! All the specialists who testified to the smell, George!, then the cadaver dogs who are extremely accurate, and finally the defense specialist who later confirmed he wasn't allowed to speak on anything but the science of the trash. Had he been allowed to expand, 100% he would have confirmed he believed it was a dead body. I mean... case closed Casey.
Just watched Casey’s lawyer in court and I’m honestly not surprised she was acquitted. He put on a pretty strong argument :/

Her behavior while her daughter was missing is all the proof you need. I don't have children, but if my niece or nephew was missing our entire family would be extremely distraught and doing everything possible to find them; not going to parties and not reporting them missing. That poor child didn't get justice.

Yeah Casey was so guilty they literally had to make a new law after her making it illegal to not report your child as missing. It carries prison time now. It never needed to be a law because literally no one had ever done that in that state before! Disgusting. I hope she has a miserable life.

you sir are correct! I might add, Casey didnt know who Caley,"s real dad was. Also., Casey hated her mom and resented the fact that her mom forced her to have the baby, then took over Caley's care and had Caley call her mom instead of grandma. Casey was jealous of Caley because mom showed her more affection. She wanted to hurt her mom by taking Caley away forever. Her mom also threatened to call dcf on Casey to have Caley taken away! Casey was daddys little girl before Caley was born, then he showed more affection to the baby than to Casey, so more jealousy, more motive, as she never wanted a baby! This is interpreted from statements from friends and from her brother.

Well, "was" was a good description and might have applied to the very few minutes of that sweet child's life when people came to see her when she was an infant.
The wrong child was missing. Who says we have to love our children equally or even at all? Those are just social norms, completely worthless in my eyes.

They are the most vulnerable members of our species. And countless studies show that children who are emotionally abused/neglected grow up with that trauma. Giving more love to only some of your children makes the others resent you. It creates jealousy between siblings. No child should grow up knowing that they are unloved/not loved as much as their siblings.

Consider that growing up molested by her dad would make her mentally unable to parent and even murder a child. This is why I do believe she was abused by her Dad. Similarly, I have read that roughly 80% of men on death row were raped by a male relative or acquaintance before age 12. Childhood sexual abuse causes severe lifetime damage for children.

My Son was in first grade and I was waiting for him to get off the bus. The bus just drove by the bus top and my son was in my mind missing at that point. I called the school the bus transportation company and the police. I was freaking out and in full panick mode. What happened was he fell asleep on the bus and the bus driver did not know he was on the bus until he got to the school bus station. It was the longest hour of my life. The duct tape. The body dump. The tattoo. The diary entry. All of it suggests a mother pleased with her decision to rid herself of a commitment that she didn't want.
I think that her Parents were supporting her. At the very least they were babysitting Kaley. I think that they were expecting Casey to do more for Kaley. They were still married, as was and is the norm for many people. Casey never married her baby Daddy. To them this was probably a source of irritation.
I also think that Mr and Mrs Anthony intimated that they could take her kid. Maybe that they would take her kid, so that the little girl would be raised "responsibly". Casey was too busy partying and having a good ole time to be a real Mom as her parents saw it.
They probably made her parenting painful. They chipped in with supporting the baby. Maybe they could do a better job than she? Casey probably loved her daughter but also reckoned that if she couldn't have her than nobody could have her.
"If I can't have her, nobody is going to have her!" is a common motive. It's idiotic thinking. I would rather see someone in good hands than be dead. I've let girlfriends go for that reason. He was better for her than me. I did not like it but it was for the best. Wasn't like I was going to murder anyone but it made letting them go a lot easier.
People make Casey out as some Party girl who did her kid in like that loser who drowned her kids in her car.
I see Casey as trapped in a single Mom life. It's not easy. I see her parents playing games with her. I think that Casey had some times when she was out on the town or did not take "proper" care of Kaley. I think that her parents pushed her to do something different - give them custody.
Casey handled those games very very badly. I think Casey killed little Kaley. "If I cannot have her than nobody can have her".

It, like the O.J. case, is a perfect example of the failure of our jury system. I do not believe for one second that Casey was smart enough to come up with the detailed lies that formed the defense case. (José Baez has that to his discredit.)

What I like about your analysis Todd is your caution on relying on any one factor and very deliberately weighing up all the purported facts. I worked with a lot of police and found many of them very quick to judge and basically frame the investigation around their hunches (thus introducing large quantities of confirmation bias). No wonder you have 870 000 subscribers.

I lost track of my oldest nephew in a mall when he was about 2. His mom was trying on clothes and had left him in my care. Little stinker was hiding inside clothes racks and giggling about me looking for him. But I've never been so scared in my life.
My brother when he was about 9 went outside from the neighbor house where he was playing with his friends.
I just couldn't believe when the neighbors told us that "he was not there". I went running on the streets and looking for him and at cars and all the way I was mumbling "this is not happening, this is not true" again and again.

@@Gurubashy I lost sight of my daughter in a crowd at school when she was 6 for all of about maybe 3 to 4 min. I was panic stricken and blinded by instinct to find her. Ill never forget that horrible feeling of fight versus flight..heart racing fear.

A lot of people feel that their child is “in the way,“ they wind up being neglectful parents and not giving a shit which she seem to not be. There’s an entire community of people (the majority of Black people) that engage in that type of “parenting,“ Nobody says anything about it it’s just a given. She had choices, easy choices she could’ve just let the grandparents raise her and do whatever the hell she wants, she seems like that type, I’m the same way. She could have given the kid up for adoption, these were choices that would’ve left her less exposure. She’s definitely not stupid, she has a fairly high IQ, it’s pretty obvious, I think she would’ve known that her odds of getting away with something like that would be very small. She valued her freedom and probably would’ve done something more selfish like just do whatever the hell she wanted and let the grandparents watch the kid. Come to think of it I was kind of raised like that at a point and I didn’t even think about it. My mom was divorced and she was out dating or doing whatever the hell she was doing, We lived across the street from my grandparents for a while and I remember being there more than I remember being at the apartment across the street. Very hazy. I think I was only three though... i’m gonna say that her father was a real creep in all of this, he’s an ex cop and knows about these sort of things and seemed like he definitely was a bit of a Socio path. I don’t use that word lightly. It’s possible that he knew that he would be accused of sexual molestation and excepted it for the, “greater good,” of the situation in terms of finding her innocent. I feel like everyone in the house knows that something happened and maybe there’s an agreement of willful blindness and at least two people (Casey and her father) know precisely what happened because they were involved. Probably an accident but there are much more efficient ways to get rid of a body then 19 feet off the road right near your house. You can’t (shouldn’t) convict somebody if nobody knows what the hell is going on and People have “more questions than answers,” as the defense pointed out to the jury, this was I believe very key in the closing arguments. He did a fantastic job “Instructing,” them on a moral, intellectual and legal reason to find her innocent. I also find her attractive, that’s besides the point but I figure I should say that, why not. She’s a crazy, smart, probably psychopathic, slutty sexy little thing. Who wouldn’t want to have sex with that, well maybe a lot of people, but I sure would.

I think Casey has had excuses made by her parents all her life and so has never had to take responsibility for anything, even her daughter. I'm not sure if she purposely murdered her, but I'm sure she is responsible for her death by negligence at the very least. I also think her parents knew that Casey was responsible and they covered for her the same way they have for most of her life. I just really feel for the little girl who lost her life 💔😢
I think she duct taped her and left her in the car while she partied at the club. I think she did that a lot instead of getting a babysitter or staying at home. And one time she stayed in the club too long or duct taped her too tightly and it finally ended poor Caley. Casey is a monster
I think she went out partying for a few days leaving Caylee home alone, and when she came home Caylee had died of thirst/ hunger or accident. So in her mind she didn't think she killed her. But her negligence had killed her.
This makes no sense. Cindy or George would have seen Caylee at the house if Casey just left her there alone. She suffocated her after she googled fool proof suffocation, threw her in the trunk and after a few botched ways of disposing her body early on in the days after she killed her, she threw her in the woods to rot and ditched the car after the odor became too much.
Well, one of the biggest problems with the state's case was they charged Anthony with first degree murder and the autopsy was indeterminate (ie they couldn't say for certain how she died). Or when. Or where. So first degree murder is really overplaying your hand, so to speak. Something like you're talking about, with a 'involuntary manslaughter' charge due to negligence would have been much more likely to land a conviction.

I lost my son (7 years old) in K Mart for 15 minutes he was actually hiding from me under a clothes stand and told I went past him five times. K Mart were very good had an excellent drill, for these problems, I turned around and there he was, it was the longest 15 minutes of my life.
I've never met a blase parent when their kid is missing. I've helped parents find their kids. Their gratitude was often tearful, over the top.

While working with Child Protective Services, I had seen many parents drug (whether alcohol, pills, etc) their children so they could go out to party. Casey may have done this on purpose or by accident, either way, she got off way too easy. I was shocked at the verdict and the thought of her getting away with murder still makes me sick to my stomach. I’m sure she’s doing fine now, she has no conscience and is a habitual liar. And the way her attorneys behaved after the not guilty verdict, jubilantly celebrating (the old guy gave the finger to reporters) only shows you this is a game to them. Her mother refused to keep Caley anymore and then her mother slapped her. I think that caused Casey to kill her daughter.

My husband went to pick my daughter up from a friends house once and my heart went racing when he said he couldn’t find her. That was all of one minute. 31 days? Not hearing any other bit of the mountain of evidence and just hearing not reporting your child for 31 days is enough for me.

People tend to omit the entirety of the defense's case. They said that it was an accidental drowning and the reasoning for the duct tape and not calling the cops for a month was bc they were embarrassed that she had drowned and tried to frame it as if she were kidnapped and killed.

Eventually, she began to emit the smell of death, so the trunk was opened, and her little body was likely re-wrapped / re-bagged. Fluid would be coming out of her mouth and nose...as well as maggots. (sorry). She/They taped the little girl's nose and mouth to contain this from continuing to occur....until she/they could find a safe disposal area for little Caylee. Casey Anthony's age at the time of Caylee's death was 22. Casey was born in 1986.
Also, evidently Casey did not live with Cindy and George at that time, but rather spent a great deal of time at their house, which may explain why Cindy waited so long to notify the police.

Dr. Grande I took the MMPI and the results came back as entirely "inconclusive." The psychiatrist was flabbergasted and in 30+ years of practice he had never seen that happen with the MMPI. The test was re-run and again found to be inconclusive. He spoke with the office in CA that processes the tests and he received some info as to why the results could be inconclusive. Basically I scored extremely high in honesty and consistency in my responses but yet there were no other patterns to be found anywhere. So apparently they seek specific patterns and I was all over the place in my answers but still considered extremely honest and consistent. The psychiatrist accused me of randomly filling out the test and not taking it seriously and that wasn't the case at all. I took it very seriously and answered each question very honestly. So have you ever heard of this happening with the MMPI and what does this mean about my psychology?

I don’t believe she was abused by Travis Alexander, rather she maligned his character after she killed him bc she was incensed that he ended their “relationship” and called her out on her serious personality flaws.

Tamara Gerber so I am positive she is borderline personality disorder, histrionic type at very LEAST. And unless an evaluator sees evidence of it during the brief time they are involved with her, it’s not going to be diagnosed because any smart borderline or sociopath can fake normal in a contrived clinical situation. We know that doesn’t occur from an organic issue in the brain or biochemistry or genetics, but as a result of a systematically & dysfunctional and traumatic environment. I think she’s an only child (?) so the parents could direct all the dysfunction onto her from birth. They certainly are not going to give ANY negative history when asked! Also, Casey is smart and every smart borderline seems WONDERFUL at first but as you observe over time....watch out! And in an outpatient clinical setting you may never get a glimpse of the behaviors, reactions etc that are troubling. I’ve been clinical but with access to residential or actually working right in the residence. Lately, it’s with adults in rehabs, detoxes & halfway houses. I can say without a shadow of doubt that meeting someone like Casey Anthony for a couple one on one sessions, there is no way to observe her “natural” behaviors, reactions and belief systems. She’s smart. She knows what’s distorted in her thinking and even tho she thinks SHE’S RIGHT she also knows what answers are expected from her. So ultimately this is all moot I just realized because diagnosing a mental disorder would not have helped convict her. It would aid the defense. Who clearly did the impossible without it! And had she been found to have any form of sociopathy like a personality d/o it would’ve been moot because she still knows right and wrong! A sociopath just doesn’t care. We’d be blaming the finding of not guilty of any murder charge on the mental disorder had she been determined to have one, instead of being shocked and dumbstruck at what many feel is a miscarriage of justice.
Cindy had Caylee for one week straight while she was on vacation. Casey was free as a bird. The day Cindy went back to work is the day Caylee died. June 16th. That same day she did a search on her computer - FULL PROOF SUFFOCATION - during the hours while both Cindy and George were at work. It was deleted from FireFox. That's been proven . So she did it!

My take is the grandmother legitimately seemed concerned when Casey kept putting her off on why she couldn’t see or even talk to Kaley on the phone. They later for whatever reason decided to help cover up for Casey.

And the fact they had the audacity to interview after and say they felt they made the right decision and another juror was selling details to the press AND someone working in the legal office with Casey's lawyer walked in on them having sex in the office. Like they dropped the ball hard
The prosecution was caught off guard and should take blame. They were caught off guard when the defense claimed that the death was accidental. They should have anticipated this and built their case accordingly. Casey got by with murder.
You people think you know the facts of the case as they were heard in the court room, when in reality, you only know of little bits here and there, usually to sway you into believing one side or the other. The 12 jurors heard all the facts of the case and received a set of jury instructions that had to be followed. These instructions are generally clear and concise. e.g If you determine that Casey did not do action "X" then charge "1" should yield a "Not guilty" verdict and lesser included charges should not be considered etc. So all in all, based on what was discussed in the court and based on the legal standards, they probably yielded the correct verdict.
I personally believe that she DID commit the murder. However it is incredibly important, above all, to maintain the presumption of innocence and the proving of one's guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. The reality is that sometimes we will get cases like these. Cases where the common sense part of our minds tell us that of course "she's guilty!" but the evidence-based side of the case don't actually sufficiently support that proposition. This is unfortunately a part of a justice system that leans in favour of the freedom and liberties of defendants, as it should.
Well, the jury system is based on the idea of a jury "of your piers"... seems she got exactly that...

Watching Casey Anthony in the police interview provided, I was struck by her sociability and ability to frequently laugh or giggle. Had it been my child missing my affect would be frantic, and I would have been in tears. In my 27 years as a mental health clinician, I did not witness as disturbing a display of inappropriate affect or attitude as in this footage re a missing child.

I followed this case too. If I recall correctly, Cindy (Casey's mother) was very involved with little Caylee-- almost like Caylee was her own daughter. I thought perhaps the attention Cindy gave to Caylee made Casey upset. I wondered if Cindy failed to show very much love to Casey as she was growing up. Then when Casey saw all the attention her mother was giving to Caylee, it made her jealous and angry. Therefore, perhaps Casey decided to get back at her mother by eliminating Caylee. All of them lived together in that small house which would have caused a lot of tension. Did any of you wonder about Cindy seeming obsessed with little Caylee?

At 19 years old, Casey Anthony never wanted a child in the first place. She wanted to have an abortion but her mother talked her out of it. I believe she killed her daughter and became euphoric from the freedom of the unwanted responsibility.

When you don't want a child, don't bond with it, there is no way you're ever going to care for that child. Then of course the other factors in play was that her mother saw Kaylee as another opportunity to do better and have another mother/daughter relationship since her own failed one with Casey. Casey was never going to turn out decent due to family dynamics. Her father DID NOT abuse her, but her parents relationship was very problematic and her mom never disciplined her growing up so that just fueled her narcissistic personality. The last thing Casey ever needs ever is a child or a pet!!
K Farr I agree grandma is not helping along the way. If you can’t straighten your kid when she is young, just give up. A lot of disasters come from tough love when your child is a grown-up. If a grownup wants to ruin her life, there is really nothing you can do.

Dear CRACKERJack, I appreciate your comment in defense of Dr Phil, citing his saintly patience. But he NEEDS the patience of a saint - considering the fact that his guests are cherry-picked for their extreme dysfunction - and considering the delicious drama that comes from The Hawthorn Effect, when people modify their behavior because they know they’re being observed. Extremely dysfunctional people + Hawthorn Effect = Dr. Jerry-Springer-Phil.
Yet I can see why you stuck up for Dr Phil. He’s famous. He’s friends with Oprah. He’s not a complete monster. For example, he offers his guests post-show interventions & counseling, which is a good thing. But unfortunately he also offers his guests with a sensational slew of on-the-spot therapies that involve surprise! family members, surprise! criticism, and surprise! topic changes. At least one person has committed suicide, and many lives and reputations have been damaged, after being Dr-Philled. He’s been sued by guests, and his conduct has been reprimanded by the APA.
But the whole reason for my post was to comment on how Dr Grande’s educational approach is helping mental health and mental illness. Now that he’s doing more videos about famous (and infamous) people, I began to think about another PhD psychologist whose show features famous people. Comparing the two made me take a closer look at Dr Phil... how ridiculous his approach and antics are, and how they actually support the prejudice, ignorance, and stigma that surrounds mental health.
It’s no wonder that Dr Phil surrendered his psychology license 14 years ago-something he should be disclosing at the beginning of every TV episode. He’s not “textbook.” He couldn’t, or wouldn’t, adhere to at least one of psychology’s core ethical duties: “To strive to help the public in developing informed judgments and choices concerning human behavior.... in order to contribute to human welfare.” Dr Grande, on the other-hand, does this grandly. While Dr Phil has made a mockery out of mental illness, Dr Grande is giving it a makeover, making it both legit and fascinating.

I am absolutely bewildered at the fact that the jury did not take the fact that Casey was out partying while her daughter was missing, the foul smell in the trunk, the duct tape, the fact that she was clearly wrapped up in something to hide her body, the fact that she didn't even report her daughter ''missing'' from day one, and that they didn't even realize that her defendant said she drowned, but then later said that her death is unknown, as evidence.

My first grade daughter got off the bus at the wrong bus stop & became lost in our neighborhood. I went full on panic mode when she didn’t get off in front of our house. She was lost about 30 looong minutes before I found her. I can’t imagine going any longer without calling the police. Casey was guilty....not a doubt in my mind. So sad. The grandparents loved that little girl .
That must have been horrifying for you. I was in the store visiting with my sister and all of a sudden my daughter was gone! She was about 4 at the time. I was the same for about a minute that lasted an hour! She was a couple aisles down. She’d never done that before but I was distracted. I thank God no one took her every time I think of that. She’s 20 and I still worry.

I am bowled over by your mommy skills but that anecdote has nothing to with whether or not Anthony is guilty. I hate when people who are completely untrained and uneducated in psychology make judgements about how others act during and after traumatic occurrences. I will go ahead and add---I know of a case in which the accused was absolutely innocent and the DA made judgements about how the accused was acting during the first month after the allegation. The accused was not acting sad and upset enough about the situation for the DA. The accused posted a picture of herself on social media smiling. I was told by the accused that she was in shock, the situation didn't seem real, it seemed like a novel she was reading, like it was happening to someone else during that early time. A few months later, it hit her full force. And I know that's very similar to how my brain reacted when my husband unexpectedly died at a young age. So I've had just about enough of "Anthony didn't act sad or worried or panicked, at least not that we can see, she danced and smiled, she must be guilty." I don't know whether she's guilty or not, and I don't know, if she is guilty, exactly WHAT she's guilty of, but her behavior proves nothing.

It could be a piece of evidence, which combined with much other evidence, proved she murdered her, but by itself it does not. The most you can say about it, by itself, is that it could prove she had something to hide, but what? That she killed her with malice aforethought? We don't know. That she killed her accidentally? We don't know. That she knows who killed her and is covering up for that person? We don't know. That she was negligent in leaving her daughter for too long with the person who then killed her? We don't know. Or she had nothing to do with it but has a mental illness which led her to act inappropriately afterward and then concoct lies? We don't know.
My daughter didn't get off on her spot I called the bus company and had 3 people at that stop waiting for her while I was on my way. She wouldn't get off the bus for strangers. I had my friends hold the bus till I got her. Yeah she got off on so many charges. This should have been cut and dry. I blame the judge and prosecutor.

I think we sometimes mull over the obvious so much that things get blurry. In this case, I think it's very obvious that she murdered her little girl. Who puts duct tape on an already deceased child/person? Why didn't she get her death smelling car out of impound? Living la vita bella? How is that possible if your child is missing? It's not; not if you love your child.
To sum up: she killed her to live la vita bella It's true! It's all right there. I remember the last thing that I remember hearing her say was "I am not worried what people think and *I sleep pretty good at night."*

Based on those observations I believe Casey Anthony is guilty of murdering Caylee.
The partying and sexual promiscuity were Casey's way of coping with, and relieving the intense anxieties, and psychoemotional rush that accompanied the murder of her daughter. How she "failed" the MMI battery is likely due to coaching and her own innate deviousness. I wonder how she would score on the PCL-R?
One other assessment is to observe how she has been living as a free citizen the past 7 years, e.g. could be Karla Homolka.

Casey often took Kaylee with her & stayed with friends or boy friends. She once took her on a road trip out of state. Remember, Cindy didn’t even notice that Casey was 8 months pregnant, even though every one else noticed it. She firmly believed that Casey had never had sex!! She is blind when it came to Casey. She survives on denial, poor woman. And she’s very controlling, but with a child like Casey who’s a pathological liar, maybe she HAD to be!

The judge, a few years later, said that despite it being mostly circumstantial, there was enough evidence for a conviction and he was in disbelief at the verdict. He said she was incredibly manipulative and made sure to appear solely one way in front of the jury, but when they were not in the room she'd be loud and obnoxious, yelling at her attorneys and just being a B. The last part isn't from the judge, it's my description of how I see her any time she talks.
Almost all evidence is “circumstantial” rarely does someone do these things in front of witnesses. Agree with you.

I think the marriage of the parents was in trouble and Cindy was trying to use George as a fall guy to clear Casey's name and get him out of her life at the same time. (I believe Cindy, at least, knew Casey murdered Caylee.)

I don't think they were scared of her. They just spoilt her. Turned a blind eye to all her lies or played along with them. Refusing to accept the reality that she did bad things. One psychologist , Steven Gold , who evaluated her said she wasnt a sociopath. He was a professor of mine at CMU back in 1982. I find it interesting how 2 of 4 psych. thought she was not mental. That discounts the profession into an opinion and not a science.
Once again Dr. Grande gives an interesting analysis. You bring up really good points and I suppose It it because they come from a highly educated and trained mental health professional. It's a point of view most of us don't get to hear. My Aunt and I followed the Casey Anthony trial (every one of them) that was televised on Court TV. I also viewed police interviews and depositions that were posted online. We both thought she was guilty of first degree murder. It is worth to note that there are some differences in Flordia law that became apparent over the course of the trial. I believe one HUGE mistake the prosecution made was the way they presented the charges to the jury. There was definitely some confusion on my end. After the trial some jurors spoke out about this confusion. I believe the prosecution had spoke out about this as well. It's interesting to hear more about the physiological testing being normal. Perhaps Casey played a role during the investigation and throughout the trial? I remember her attorney stopping the trial at one point to get her evaluated because she was acting abnormal. Another good analysis. Hopefully I won't see or hear Casey Anthony's name again. Although the trial was an awesome bonding experience for my Aunt & I. :)
