    Dropped the first like. Enjoying your content. Pennsylvania has grown on me. Moved here from NYC in 1996. Now I love it especially the location between NY, DC, Jersey shore etc.

    Alot of homes in Johnstown, PA are at very good prices. 3 bedroom 1 bath for under $100,000 and it's a small city under 50,000 people and that's the reason I want to move to PA. I have lived in a city of 100,000+ people for 25 years and rents are beyond the average paycheck. Hoping to move before December. Pre-approved for a home loan of $69,000. Just have to wait for the underwriter.

      Johnstown is definitely Pennsylvania’s best kept real estate secret. Be sure to check out Westmont, Johnstown’s most beautiful neighborhood which boasts gorgeous old gilded age mansions at unbelievably affordable prices. Pittsburgh metro is a close second price-wise, especially if you’re looking for country living. You can get a beautiful home on a little bit of property for an affordable price. Then you have Philly, a big city with lots of neighborhoods that have a small town feel. Philly is more expensive, but it has a lot to offer culturally and culinarily. It just depends what you’re looking for and why, but beautiful Pennsylvania has it all.

    I plan to apply to Thomas Jefferson University in Pennsylvania for a Master's Program in Construction Management. So, is it a good city for a Construction manager? and my other concern - is construction stopped during winter? Please let me know your opinion.

      @Philadelphiasuburbs  Рік тому

      Philadelphia is booming with new construction. No, most construction continues through the winter.

    You forgot to mention that residence of Pennsylvania are also hit with a 1 to 1.25% local earned income tax as well.

    Great advice on out of state sports’ fans! :) Go 🦅🦅🦅
    One other reason to move to PA, especially the Philly area is that we have some of the best (and unique) food scenes in the country - home of the cheesesteak, the soft pretzel, roast pork and broccoli rabe sandwich/hoagie, and in general the best hoagies anywhere. Our meats are sliced Philly style (ultra thin), unlike NY where they prefer thick sliced deli meats. Ours melt in your mouth and the South Philly Italian influence raises the quality of our hoagies and pizzas to another level that NY and the rest of the NorthEast lacks. NY bagels are the best, but our Amoroso rolls, pretzels, tomato pies, ice cream (invented here), and our local deli specialties are the best. I may be biased because I grew up 15 mins outside of Philly, but I lived in NYC for 10 years and there food scene paled in comparison to Philly’s. I lived on the lower east side where Chinatown and Little Italy converge. It’s also adjacent to a Hispanic and a Jewish neighborhood where the famous (highly overrated) Katz Deli is located. Their corned beef and Pastrami sandwiches don’t come close to what you’ll get at places Murray’s Deli on the Main Line 15 mins west of Philly. A good place to sample great Philly food if you’re in town for a short time is The Reading Terminal Market. Also, our Vietnamese restaurants in the Penn’s Landing area are fantastic. Sorry to ramble on about the Philly food scene, but it’s the best you’ll find imo and has been for hundreds of years. It’s the reason Kraft named their Cream Cheese after Philly way back when, because it was renowned worldwide as the gourmet food capitol of the U.S. and they wanted to cash in on our well-deserved reputation.
