- Опубліковано 7 лют 2025
- Recently purchased a 2020 Indian Scout Bobber Twenty because I wanted the look of a bobber but also wanted to be able to take my daughter on rides. Well, the time has come and I’ve finally gotten my parts and the install is here. Glad to have my daughter (who’s youtube channel is ZoLife) help me make this video and do this install. This particular seat (part number below) is the Indian rear seat that includes the back support.
The procedure is pretty easy and outlined in this video.
Thanks for watching!

Hey folks, I never comment on UA-cam videos more than a few times a decade, but I wanted to reach out to just say thank you for making this video. My son is turning 3 years old in a few weeks, and when I bought my bike last summer, all I could think was about getting him interested in learning skills like this, whether technically about motorcycles, or more socially, like knowing how to teach or explain what you're doing to others. You two basically showed me what I hope my future could look like, and for that I'm wicked grateful. You both keep up the great work!
Thanks! I like making videos with her and hope she does more with me.
Your explanations are very thorough and to the point, unlike the amateurs I have seen on this platform. Great vid. Hope you and your daughter have a fun time with the cruise :)
Just bought my Twenty Bobber today and want to add a Backseat for my Wife. Ty for the Vid! Greetings from Germany / Cologne!
Thanks for watching! I'll be in stuttgart next month! It'll be my first time in Germany 🇩🇪
Nice. Enjoy ur trip! You are welcome my friend!✌️
Dad/ daughter time, gotta love it!! 🥰
I love it, what a great daddy daughter project and result.
Well my dream bike maybe one day I will buy it
Thanks! I'm enjoying it. Highly recommend
@@MessyGarageBMW so happy to hear you😍
Congratulation to both for the nice video :)
You daughter did a great job presenting all the steps! Very well done!
I have exactly the same bike and I'm waiting for the passenger seat and pegs (along with Comfort seat) to be shipped to me.
This video will be very useful for me in a couple of week! :D
Cheers
Glad people are watching and getting something out of it.
Only watched this video because the Indian Scout Bobber for sale that I want has a passenger seat attached, and I wanted to know how complex it would be to remove it. Great clear tutorial video, thank you! Awesome bike too!
You selling that seat ? I’m in the market for one.
@@stogie0608 sorry, slight misunderstanding...I don't own the Indian Scout Bobber yet
@@MotorcycleRiderUK ahhh no problem.
Awesome video 👌🏻. Great way to bond with your daughter. She should be in all of them. Make sure you pay her too 😅
It was a fun video to make with her. I'm trying to make more with her but she has become shy all of a sudden.
I need to know where to find those tank decals!
This is actually factory paint for the scout bobber twenty not decals.
@@MessyGarageBMW ahh gotcha, I have a regular scout bobber in Alumina Jade Smoke and the decal didn't look like that. thanks for the clarification and awesome video!
What a good kid 💯
She has her moments. :)
Very nice and question does the bag get on the way of passenger legs?
No. The bag is placed perfectly to not get in the way.
that bike look so boss!
Thank you. I'm really enjoying this bike. Thanks for watching!
Hey thanks for this video you guys. Same bike myself and it's really useful to see someone else with the same setup, helps to imagine what it all looks like in person. I've got the saddlebag and I'm currently waiting on those V&H slips. Love the grips too. Now that you guys have had this setup for a while, what are your impressions? I was thinking about going with an aftermarket seat and a sissy bar with higher backrest instead. And how do you like the slip ons?
I am still running this setup and love it. I have a custom made sissy bar that will be next on my list to install once I get some longer bolts to work with the saddlebag on the one side. So far I don't mind the seats but I'm going to be upgrading the rear suspension soon because the ride is a little to stiff for my daughter.
Nice bike
Thank you!
Very nice. I'm looking at a bobber twenty and was hoping to see a sagebrush color in person soon. Looks great here.
Thanks. Once I saw this color I knew it was a must have. They look better in person than they do in pictures. The dealership had to hunt around for this one a bit but glad I finally got it.
Hi there - thanks for all your great content !!! Can you let me know how happy (or not) you are with the Solo seat after riding for a while? The EU version only comes with the solo seat and I am contemplating changing it with a Corbin.....just don't know if that makes sense. Thanks ! Please...keep it coming!
I have ridden with the solo seat for over a year and had several multiple hours rides on it during that time. I love the seat and have not had any problems with it. When I changed the shocks it helped the ride even more.
Is it possible to remove the sissy bar? And still install the seat without it ?
This seat has the backpad included and cannot be removed but they do also sell another version without the backpad
Does the bag get in the way for the passenger ?
Not at all.
@@MessyGarageBMW awesome man love your series i ride a bobber 60 and this has given me some great ideas and insight.
@@bubbleywine Thanks for watching.
Is it mini ape bar you have?
Yes, the Indian 10 inch mini apes come stock on the bobber twenty and rogue versions.
Is this config comfortable for 2-up touring with the saddlebags on? Or mostly short rides?
I don't think the saddlebag gets in the way at all. The only comfort concern I've heard is the shocks which will be replaced soon. Ive been 2up for short and medium rides on it so far but always up front :-).
@@MessyGarageBMW Thanks a lot for the info.
Is it important to set it to 18ft/lbs?
That is the recommended tightness so it is not overtightened and stripped out but yet not so loose that it works its way out. I imagine it doesn't have to be exact but if you have a torque wrench it is easy enough to do.
@@MessyGarageBMW -ok brotha.. coz, im done with my installation already and I didnt use my mechanical torque wrench..I was in a hurry because I didnt have a light source.. just the sun and its nearly night time.. good thing I was able to finish it in 20 min..
Great Job!
Thanks!
Congratulations both for your job. One question, just I discovered this motorbike and I'm interesting in passenger seat, but I have a doubt about if is possible that passenger gots injured because of style of mean seat, specially because space between both seats. What's your experience about this? Thank you very much from Spain!
No worries with this setup. The front seat is not on a spring so it doesn't flex at all and there is nothing to pinch the passenger. I don't think there is any risk of injury with the current setup.
@@MessyGarageBMW This is just the answer I nedeed, thank you and have a nice day!
Thanks for watching the video. Stay safe and keep the shiny side upward.
Did you have to adjust the suspension as well? If so how much?
On my short list of improvements are new shocks for the rear. I haven't adjusted it from stock and it is a bit of a rough ride regardless of 1 or 2 riders. Hoping the new shocks will take care of that though.
nice video, helpful
Thanks
Where can I get the whole kit!????
Links are in the video description
@@MessyGarageBMW Thank you!
What brown grips you have?
I installed the vans grips. There is a video on my channel of the install and also a link in all of my video descriptions of where to buy the parts and tools I use.
Beautiful!!!!
Thanks!
👍
good video
Thanks.
What's the primary seat?
This is the Indian 1920 Solo seat.
Do you know what size the bolts are for the seat? And thread pattern?
Not sure. They are included though.
Hi, very great video ! Thanks, what tools do you use for make this manipulation please ? Can you give me the brand of the tools you use please 😎 thanks
The video description has the tools that were used. Brand really doesn't matter as much and would depend on availability in your location. Mostly just used an 8mm, 6mm allen key sockets.
MessyGarage thanks dude, you make a good job ! Kiss from France ! I cheack that 👍😉
What wrench I this that beep on the correct pounds? Lol I need that
It is like this one.. these are very handy Https://amzn.to/3iUB5ed
Is it really important to set the torque to 18ft/lbs?
Hi
Can fit pillion seat for Jawa Perak?
This one is specifically made for the Indian Scout Bobber. I don't think it will fit the Jawa Perak and the Jawa Perak's rear fender doesn't look like it would be strong enough to support a passenger.
Where did you purchase the seat from?
The links in the description take you directly to the parts I've used on my build.
Outtakes, lol!!
LOL, I should do that more often.
What a waste... The 1920 solo motorcycle saddle with the passenger seat 🤢🤢🤢🤢 what a monstrous waste for the 1920 saddle.
Cool thing is when it is your bike you can do what you want for your own reasons.
