Indian Scout Bobber Fork Boots install

- I like the looks of the Fork Boots (also referred to as Fork Gaiters) as it removes a little more chrome and shiny bits from the front of the bike. For this the front wheel, front brakes, and fender need to be removed but I walk you through the procedure here on my 2020 Indian Scout Bobber Twenty. Aside from blacking out more of the front of the bike, it also acts to further protect the forks from the elements and should prolong the life of the fork seals.
The procedure is pretty easy and outlined in this video.
Torque specs
Axle 52 ft lbs
Pinch nuts 18 ft lbs
Brake Caliper bolts 35 ft lbs

I'm a noob and not mechanically inclined, but have been slowly upgrading my '21 Bobber ABS. I've switched out my levers, slip-on exhaust and head lamp and I *had* been looking forward to adding some sick fork boots. But after watching all the work needed, I'm gonna have to go to a mechanic. I hope my Man Card isn't revoked . . .
It is easier than it looks. Just take your time and follow what i do here.
Awesome video dude. Just installed my boots in about an hour and half. The tip on using the flathead in the pinch clamp while pulling out the fork was a huge help.

For whatever reason I always thought that the front forks on the Bobber were 41mm.
Thanks for the video dude. It's always nice to watch someone do something and also explaining how to. In not tech savvy and I'm trying to learn how to do these kind of small mods on my bike and videos like yours help a lot
They may be but these fit tighter and I've heard the 41mm boots are a little too loose on the lower fork

If thinking about doing this you may as well put progressive springs in the forks. They are only about $125
What size? Is there a particular spring for the bobber

It isn't as bad as it looks and is actually pretty fun and rewarding wrenching on your own bikes and cars.
Just had one go bad. I've been pretty good about keeping them clean, but the desert is rough, so I'll definitely be referring to this in the future.
it isn't a bad process. Especially living in the desert, I wouldn't do what some people suggest and cut them and just wrap them around. Do it the right way even if it is more work. As you can see, it isn't that bad. Thanks for watching!

Awesome vid! just what i needed to attack this mod myself. Question. Could the fender be reattached loosely to both forks to assist in realigning?
Probably but I think it may get in the way more than help in my opinion. It is worth a try though.
Say brother or anyone on here that can help me out. What all do I need to do to replace the upper triple clamp on my 2019 Indian Scout laid it down at about 35mph and the center piece that holds the wires is cracked. If anyone can help would be greatly appreciated
Great video! The link says no longer available, but being a 39mm what length are they? I have a scout rogue sixty an can only assume that it's same fitment, when I search 39mm it has several options for lengths

I'm seeing they are back in stock.
Red rubber grease on the boots helps keep it smooth longer, and slide on easier.
And yes the fork clamps on the scout are way too tight in my opinion.

I have a scout bobber sixty! Just ordered these boots as swell. Was curious to know where you found those numbers in his tight the hex bolts needed to be when re assembling? Manual ?
If you are asking about the torque specs they are in the service manual. I found the specs online. I can't find the link at the moment.

Do you mean the headlight nacelle that covers around the headlight and top of the fork tubes? It is an Indian part that comes stock on the bobber and bobber twenty.

I'd rather do it as intended to keep the structural integrity of the boots. Plus no chance of making a mess or having the glue not hold well and having a boot come off.

They weren't making real good deals(especially on this model and color) due to demand. If you configure it on Indians website, that is pretty much what I paid for it. They moved a little on dealer prep and freight but that is about it. The margin on these is not huge so it doesn't allow much wiggle room. Buying new old stock (previous model year) is the best way to get a deal.

@@saintcharles4032 Not at all. I would do it all the same. I've got links in my video description for everything in my build so far. The pipes come in black and chrome. Love the sound. I have friends that have different lights and mine is so far still my favorite.

Looks like a lot of work for a mostly aesthetic item. They look nice, but unless you ride in very dusty, dirty or sandy environment, would most people pay someone money to do the job? I could do it myself, but I don't think I'd invest in the effort.
Thats a lot of work just to be able to get in there.. too risky
It keeps dirt and debri away from the fork seals and really isn't hard at all. It all depends on your comfort level mechanically.
