I just simply love Isaac, he is like so real, and he does not force himself into pretending he is something he is not, and, he make smusic for himself, not for others, I mean, even when people started complaining about their new style, he just kept on doing it, because thats what he likes.
I used to live right next to the park that his housenis by. Been a fan for 15 years and heard him jamming and singing one night. From then on ever so often i would go to the park to hear him jam. I just met Jermiah Green while I was out the other night, so that was cool. Will always love Modest Mouse!
These comments are funny. Portland is a small City. He lived off Belmont st. He opened a bar. Not hard to run into people here. Jeremiah was actually out at a drum and bass night downtown. That was a surprise, but awesome I got to meet him. This was so long ago.... 😂
@@homatekk I always love idiotic comments like above. Like, Isaac doesn't live on the moon or something, there's other people around. It's not outside the realm of possibility that you can hear him playing music. But instead to these internet edgelords it's always like, "NO! NOTHING LIKE THIS COULD EVER HAPPEN!"
As a person that lives right across the river from Portland I can say that Portland is kind of a shitty place to live now because of all the homeless camps.
I remember growing up with Isaac in Issaquah, and he hasn't changed a bit! I stumbled onto a song from a coworker in 2000 not realizing it was him and I loved it! Then the next day I saw his pic in the SF Chronicle when he played at the Filmore and it blew my freaking mind!!!! So I moved from Issaquah in 92 to Half Moon Bay and went to school with Eric Judy!! WTF kinda wierd shit is that!!! Two states away!! I couldn't make this shit up! Keep up the great work my old friend!
what a beautiful house. Dude deserves every penny he's made, Modest Mouse is one of the biggest inspirations for me and one of the most unique bands of all time. Weird, catchy, different.
Isaac Brock used to shop at the grocery store I was a cashier at in Portland, Oregon in 2013-2014 and was also my neighbor, I miss him living in Portland and casually coming through my grocery line, it always made my month to see him once in a blue moon, wish I wasn't so starstruck and would have asked him more interesting things though, he is super smart and cool. One time he asked how my day was and I said, "I can't wait to be off work" and he responded, "Yeah, I've only been here 5 minute and I already can't wait to leave here too" LOL I laughed so hard, good news for people who love bad news :)
Isaac is such an odd fellow but he's lived a weird life, this guy went from being kicked out of his mom's house and moving into a shed behind it to where he is now. Good for him.
He wasn't kicked out. He volunteered after the house was flooded. Didn't want to crowd the trailer the rest of his family lived in during renovations. He's a pretty cool guy.
that's so nice to hear, I'm still v proud of what we made on like zero dollars, a tiny killer crew & some decent equipment (this is sh on spouse's yt acct)
“This is corporate headquarters, where Isaac from corporate hangs out.” Hahahah I find Isaac fucking hilarious. I fucking love seeing them live and when he’ll just rant and rave about nonsense, it’s always fucking great.
I was in the park near his house and heard them jamming. It gave me the chills, though the music just sounded like laid back jamming. More recently, I was working at a sub shop in Seattle and Eric Judy came in. I was too shy to say "I love your band!" and alas I was the only one who recognized him. Though all my coworkers were fans. //coolstorybro
He's come a long way from that first documentary where he borrows 99 cents to get a beer which won't get a Heineken because "they're getting rich off of beer" and settles for a Mickey's.
Man, I hope that their new album has the same vibe as the song they played. It's got a /really/ great sound to it. Sort of dreamy, almost in a way that hearkens back to The Moon and Antarctica, but is distinctly it's own thing. Would be a great change of pace after We Were Dead's rambunctiousness. Yeah, that's right. Rambunctiousness. (I hope Frizzle Frats makes a guest appearance on the new album. Next year!)
Y'know, after years and years of listening to MM, I've never really seen Isaac just being Isaac I have to admit, I find the mounted animals a bit creepy, but he's also so hilariously nice and chill in person. Complete opposite of what I expected, for some reason
when this started, I was going to make a joke about him talking about taxidermy... then HE ACTUALLY DID!!! wow, that was freaky... I'm going to go get some iced tea...
“Woah, your house is beautiful” Isaac: “I know” Usually I would think someone would be kinda douchey to respond that way but somehow it makes sense with Isaac Brock and I’m okay with it

Song at the end pups to dust which is off their latest record strangers to ourselves they were holding the song for a long time before they put it out wow..love it

like he said, not killed for him and probably decades old so...

I know it's a 5-year-old innocent typo, but smusic is my new favourite word, and the name of my new imaginary band.
You had me at smusic
"Hi Isaac!"
"heeeey lady, how're you doin?"
He definitely forgot her name.
I love smusic, and agree with all sentiments expressed. Isaac Brock and everyone in this comment section are tied for my fav human beings
