There actually *was* a weird Sega/Nintendo collaboration years before the ESRB. Some units of Nintendo's 1979 arcade game Sheriff were manufactured by Sega. Weird but true. I remember this time rather fondly for all the experimentation going on in the console market, but so little of it seems worth it in retrospect. Sega's lock-on cart was a good way to supply expansion content for older games, but they never used it again for any other release. Super Gameboy was one of my favorite accessories, but I think I was alone in that among my friends. I actually liked playing the Gameboy titles on a big screen, and seeing as my actual Gameboy handheld at the time had busted itself, the SGB became my defacto Gameboy. And I didn't have to angle the light to see what I was doing. Sega CD had a lot of potential, but my buddies all saw it as a gimmick with either FMV games or Genesis ports with negligible sound-enhancements. I was one of the few in my circle of friends who knew about games like Lunar, Snatcher, and Shining Force CD. If you're really shrewd with how you collect for the console, the Sega CD has a surprisingly good amount of decent games. I thought it far exceeded the 32X.
Bro by the time Sonic and Knuckles have come out Nintendo had thoroughly kicked Sega's his ass. Sonic and Knuckles wasn't even close to the mega-hit Donkey Kong Country was in fact Donkey Kong Country was so important to the industry all the other console manufacturers were trying to play catch-up
Love me some Sonic 3 and Knuckles...... And Donkey Kong Country... I honestly cant choose between the two guess it depends on my mood. But Donkey Kong Country is ahead.
why doesn't this guy have so many more subscribers?
this content is pure gold
I agree, his content is very interesting and my favorite videos are the histories of both the GameCube and the Nintendo DS.
@@universalmudkip7397 yeah and the Wii U complete series

I remember I had birthday money back in Nov 94 and they wouldn't let me buy Mortal Kombat without my parents...I was 10yrs old
What is the music running between minute 4 to 5?
It's the music of ice cap zone act 1 from sonic 3 : )
That DKC promo had a nice clapback at Sega's pathetic edge lord advertising.
Wow i need one of this for ps2 pleaseee!!!
Double Dog Denzel??
Sega released vector man to compete against dk country.
I played the dkc trilogy, never got to play sonic 3 and knuckles. Game is incredibly hard to find access to
You can play it on an emulator or grab the carts for like 20$ each. Anyways Sonic 3 and Knuckles is incredible.
@@supersexysega not a fan of emulation, prefer to play legitimately, but license issues definitely made it challenging
@@Onotosho Yea if you don't own the console and don't want to emulate definitely tough.
@@Onotosho everyone prefers legal play. Just not everyone can afford luxuries like expensive old games haha
