    Over the years,
I have purchased maybe 4 of these gas cans.
    But 2 of them,
the spouts liked to leak inside the spout.
    I keep the cap on,
but when I remove the cap,
the gasoline leaks onto my hand or on the ground.

I keep mine outside and don't like how if only partially full and the temperature drop from when you used it last, the pressure drop inside the can because of it being air tight will cause the can to start collapsing. And I'm worried over time that could cause cracks. Have you had any issues with this?

I have not had a problem with them collapsing but I keep mine inside the garage.
Any plastic type material would probably do this if there is extreme temperature changes from the last time you filled them up. If your going to store them outside I would look into a metal gas can.
If there is a way to store them in a garage I would recommend that. Storing gas outside will also cause condensation in the gas can due to the temperature and humidity changes outside. The condensation will then put water in your gas. Just my opinion.

@@TheCrazyCaptain Hummm haven't have a water issue and I've been trying to reduce the collapsing by pressing the trigger when it's cold out to allow them to equalize the pressure. That is obviously sucking in air. But when it's cold out the humidity is typically lower. And I never had a water problem in the 27 years my previously old style plastic cans with vent caps and nozzle caps that weren't completely air tight which allowed they to suck in or release air as needed to equalize on their own.

The can deflating in the cold is doing what it’s designed to. It’s better for the environment to not off gas and better for the gas to not breath in and out air and absorb humidity/oxidize. HDPE is a strong plastic it shouldn’t crack.
