    Check out my review of the No-Spill 5 g gas can. I did a review of the 2.5 model about a year ago and decided to buy the 5g version. I put the can through a series of tests to see how it holds up. One thing I noticed with both gas cans, is that I felt like I snugged the cap down sufficiently the first time I filled it and noticed that it leaked fuel slightly around the thread seal. I loosened the cap and to inspect it and tightened it a little more. It's never leaked since that time, for both cans. It appears the caps need to be taken on and off a few times to get it to snug down properly. That's just my take on it. Please comment with your experience.
    I hope you enjoy this video. If so, please give it a Thumbs Up.
    Thanks for watching!

    I put the extension hose and the yellow vent caps on mine and they are now perfect. The extension hose makes it easy to fill cars and the vent cap makes it flow really fast. The vent cap and extension hose can be found on ebay under gas can. The only can better is the Justrite Type ll Safety Can, but they are pricey. I highly recommend the No-Spill and the Justrite Type ll gas cans.

      I was thinking about getting a extension hose in case I need to fill a car or truck. I ended up getting a Sure Can, so I'm covered. The 2.5 No-Spill is my favorite for line trimmers and backpack blowers.

    Good common sense review - thanks! Just placed my order from one after I finished washing the gasoline off my hands from filling with my old can.

    Hey Mark, I called the company about the leaking issue when I received about 6 of the 5 gallon cans and one of the smaller ones for 2 stroke engines. They said believe it or not to turn the pour nozzle with the black cap both at the same time and then snug it down and then spin the pour nozzle around where you want it and it will not leak...it seats the O ring. They were right.

    Thanks for the review. I think I'll get one now. All my gas cans leak and run down my vehicle or me. Plus, they take forever to pour out.

      Good choice! They're so much better than the cheap gas cans that take practically 3 hands to use.

    I have two older 2-1/2 and one 5 gallon No Spill cans that I purchased about 4 years ago. When I use them on my Honda lawn mower, they spill over. I have tried every way to fill and it still does it. I contacted the company a few years ago and I talked to a man who got verbally abusive. No need to get defensive if your product does what it is supposed to do.

    i bought a 2.5 gallon one to fill up weedeater and blower. really good reviews on amazon, the on/off is perfect. buying a 5 gallon one for mower. I normally like to use VP racing jugs.

      I ended up switching to another brand for filling my mower with 5 gallons. I still prefer the 2.5 for all my smaller equipment. It's a nice on/off design. The auto shut-off doesn't always work, so I'm careful not to overflow it.

    My only concern/ question is: How can you pour in majority of the gas to the tank when your gas can is only able to be tilted in a limited range due to the design of the nozzel. Like you can NOT keep raising the can higher since the nozzle is inserted, you see what Im trying to say? Please tell me what you think and thank you. :)

    • @MarkThomasBuilder
      @MarkThomasBuilder  7 років тому

      I can pour all the gas from the can into my mowers. A vehicle may require a nozzle extender. I've seen them for sale, but haven't bought one, since I seem to get by.

    Every time i see an old plastic Gott can with the vent on the back , out in someone's garbage, I stop the car and grab it. CARB has reduced me to a guy that gets excited about older gas cans. Damn these people to hell!!! LoL. People look at me like WTF?! It ain't gold

      @@MarkThomasBuilder Amazon has Gott replacement part for older cans. Im guessing old cans are grandfathered in. Last summer found one in garbage with bad vent cap. I got those thin Briggs & Stratton cans too. Great for behind seat for travel to gas station. The burping is nuts. Takes too long to empty things start splashing.... Some guy turned me on to drilling a 1/2" hole in rear where like vent would be... Then u put in a tire valve stem then remove valve and use cap to close off. When u pour just screw off valve cap. Make sure to install valve stem just like u would in a wheel by pulling from inside to out. California can kiss my.... Cali infested with bums crapping and peeing on street used needles everywhere. But I'm sure I'd be arrested for modifying gas can. California has got its priorities in order. 🥴

    • @MarkThomasBuilder
      @MarkThomasBuilder  4 роки тому

      I found a video with the tire stem idea and tried it out. It worked well for awhile, but over time the rubber deteriorated from the fumes in the can. It's crazy how much the cans have changed.

    probably have to use a long funnel when pouring in a vehicle to push the little flapper open then gas can spout won't get hung up on nozzle. one thing i noticed when filling can at gas station you got to go real slow cause if you go too fast gas will overfill probably because of the screen inside the tank. i come to the conclusion all new gas cans suck my nospill can leaked twice when filling can at gas station and when filling mower it leaked from spout removed spout it appeared o ring was not down far enough pushed it down farther with a screwdriver screwed it back on didn't leak that time!

    I sure wish i could buy just an old fasioned gas can with the long metal nozzel and none of that vent nonsense. heck im just filling kerosene. and yes the one i have makes it hard to acually use it on a car

      If you want to make a big dollar one time purchase for a great fuel can, check out the Justrite that I did a review on. I think it's better than the old metal ones. You don't get any fuel on your hands when using it and if it spills over, nothing. leaks out. It's fast for dispensing fuel too.

      I don't try to use the overflow feature anymore, but find it useful if I control the flow myself. I like the 2.5 can for my mixed fuel. I use another 5g can for my mowers.
