In short, I can see some people really getting into it, others not so much. Make up your mind for yourself, I plan on touching it every now & then for possible unique story tidbits, but plan on putting $0 into the game. You do you.
"In short, I can see some people really getting into it, others not so much." 😂😂😂 What you are saying here is that your whole video is basically 100% useless. You can't make this up.....
@Seb7an the video offers a glimpse of the game, the comment is just his opinion that some people will like it and others wont. Is your point that this one comment completely invalidates the video?
@@Seb7an If only he talked about his thoughts and impressions of the game in said video so you could get a sense of what the game was like so you could make up your mind if it's something you want to give a try.
The problem is that, you have NetEase, notorious for making horrible games packed microtransactions, with Tencent, which is even more famous for being a massive greedy corp and gachas so DR was already on the bad foot. Now that I know it has gacha, the game lost all interest to even bother looking at. As someone who play Gacha on the "regular", this is an horrendous idea.
This game is frustratingly polished like there are so many things that are never gonna come to d2 that were here in Alpha. Not to mention, even for a mobile game how is it so optimized? Load times are like 2 seconds. This game has proper onboarding, so many modes, more mmo features, fireteam finder, sparrow racing etc. For a mobile game, progression is pretty par for the course but I don’t mind it to much. I was unlocking chars pretty quickly but if that’s different in the full release imma be pissed Edit: coming back to add that there are also secret conditions to unlock heroic public events like D2
For better or worse DR feels like a fangame. Knowing it's non-canon makes the lore drops and characters feel more like easter eggs, but it adds some flavor. They really do nail a lot of good with the game, and have a LOT of things I'd love to see in D2 (THERE ARE ACTUAL NUMBERS AND PERCENTAGES ON PERK DESCRIPTIONS), but the monetization is looking ROUGH. I'll definitely be giving it a lot of time, but probably not sinking any money into it. Right now it's hard to really get into it though, knowing that there's a full wipe before the final release.
Totally! Kabr being such a huge dork in the game makes his sacrifice in The Vault hit so much harder. It’s like you’re not just losing a character, you’re losing this lovable, quirky guy who didn’t deserve that fate.
If by "bad" you mean "very easy to play and have fun without spending a dime," then yes. Modern day games with gacha tactics are often extremely friendly to F2P players (see Genshin, Yonkai, etc). This looks no different. Yes it's technically "pay to win," but so are most live-service games in many respects. People who pay for season passes or content packs always have access to new weapons and more materials before free to play players. LIve-service games cost a shitton of money to develop and maintain, and no one is going to pay $70 for a mobile game. Insert monetization.
@ Also true HOWEVER also gotta keep in mind at that point you’ll playing the long game and you can’t won’t have everybody. I would say for those kind of players at least spend the $5 to get the Monthly Blessing because I’m not sure if the Lumia Leaf sources in the full release will be as plentiful as they are in the Alpha right now. My goal this weekend is to get the Golden Path and play Iron Bar (PvP).
@@mrsmi1ey People said the same thing about Genshin or Diablo Immortal. Look where those games are now. Btw it sounds like they can't monetize it fully during the alpha and many of the paid features are free till the full game releases.
@@Laplaceehow are gatcha games not inherently p2w? As I understand, gatcha games = gambling to get characters, and always let you pay for more lever pulls. Getting more characters and materials and upgrades from that gambling is an advantage, and you can pay for it...
@@Oblivion9996 TLDR: Destiny is gambling too, but it doesn't let you pay for "faster" lever pulls. Gachas are like a "gumball" machine that drops toys. They can be purely aesthetic(which is literally what Bright engrams are, but imagine you could buy them too if you wanted, or like Overwatch 1 Lootboxes), or hold optional pieces to gameplay, pretty much like Yugioh or Pokemon cards. In most gacha video games, they typically can be earned ingame for free, so you'll still have access to everything completely free, you are pretty much paying to speed it up. It's essentially the "pay 2k silver to skip the campaign on your other 2 characters." You don't have to; a) even play on your other 2 characters, b) pay and just go through the campaign yourself to unlock it, but you could. They also nowadays have RNG protection on drops which is like "you have 1% chance of getting the raid exotic, but after 60 clears, it's yours" but with multiple raid weapons in that pool. In a sense, Destiny is one step away from being a game with guns instead of girls/characters if they added a method to get the guns you want faster with silver. Like a "super attunement" where you only get the gun your farming for and maybe even attune to a roll in a column like the Class Items, but it's part of a 10 silver monthly subscription haves brightdust and glimmer packages, kinda like the annual pass package you get per season
@@Oblivion9996honestly most gachas are just characters that gets pushed out of meta in a few months, or release a very broken character and have very few to no reruns. I personally just collect the ones I like even if they are f tier
@@Oblivion9996Limbus Company is surprisingly good for a game in that genre. I've seen people beat the hardest content in the game (Refraction Railway) with what they deem to be the worst IDs (the game only has 12 characters with their own identities based on previous Project Moon games. Both of which are also solid). This game though? I feel like the D2 community and content creators are desperate if they're saying a NetEase game is good. People really forgot why Diablo Immortal sucked and it's because you had to whale to get powerful or be stuck in RNG purgatory. People are also saying that players have completed the raid with free to play characters. Yes, but this is an alpha (or beta, idfk). The whole purpose is to hook you into playing this game. I can guarantee that once it officially releases, it'll be an RNG hell unless you bust out the credit card
@@BarbWaltersMusicagreed, ya gonna play a race or two and get bored. Only way you’ll stay in srl is if there’s some crazy grind for something, I’d rather grind a dungeon or strike. Leave it out of the game
I'm more than happy to admit I'm wrong if it comes down to it on official release, but based off of my experience with other gacha titles that follow a very similar format, I'm under the opinion that this game will be just as F2P friendly as other games in the space, like Genshin. While it's no surprise that there are inhumane levels of monetization opportunities shoved in a players face, I personally find my desire or need to spend real money pretty miniscule. They really do give a lot of free resources and while the idea of "doing dailies" is very checklist oriented, I actually kind of appreciate it. It makes me feel better about how I use my time, but I fully understand how it can make someone feel the opposite. Overall, I agree with all of the criticisms that people have. But I feel like I vouch for the ability to play games like this without feeling forced to spend money. Of course, if you're someone who has less impulsive spending habits, then for sure stay away. Either way, great video 😊💕
Friendly reminder that this game is made by NetEase and that this isn't the full launch. Remember how awful Diablo Immortal's gearing system was. I can guarantee you that, while the game may seem appealing, the monetization will make it an absolute shit show
One of the things I wish people would talk about more when it comes to the game. NetEase has one of the worst reputations for heavy p2w and just straight up abandoning games after a while of slower and slower updates
No character customization is kind of normal in a character gatcha game, the only kind of custom you could maybe do in the future would be alternate skin... But the way those skin will be obtain will depend on the dev, either you can farm ressource to unlock it or streight up gonna pay real cash for it.
From everything I've seen, Destiny Rising feels a lot more like a Genshin Impact than more hardcore gacha games. I played Genshin Impact for dozens of hours and had a blast without spending any money at all. I didn't care about the lore, and I'm not "into gacha games" - it was just a really damn fun game. I had such a good time, that when I was almost done playing, I did end up spending some money simply to show support to the developers, but it had nothing to do with wanting to enter the gacha gambling cycle. I haven't played that game since then, but I remember it as a shockingly good game that just happen to use optional loot box monetization. Destiny Rising looks almost exactly the same, and I'm totally ok with that.
I also am in the closed alpha and have been enjoying playing it. It 100% needs a PC client. I plugged it into a monitor with a Bluetooth controller, and it was a much better experience. Bluestacks did not work for me simply because I could not get the controller to work for whatever reason. Really like how they put the effort into creating fresh feeling class abilities. This feels like a really intriguing "loose prequel kinda sorta" haha. I will say, they REALLY need to get the voice acting figured out, but I am hoping that is goofy only because it is so early in the development, so don't wanna be too harsh there. Have not completed all the content that is available yet, but as long as they do not go too far into the monetization side (which really concerns me), then I think having Destiny available on mobile could be a huge win. TL;DR: Lore good/P2W bad.
Hopefully it will be supported in the "official" Google Play Games beta PC client, which was pretty easy to install. I don't use myself, but I think it works pretty well.
I appreciate the video, I just question the actual "review"-ness of it, which is just semantics really. To me, it's kinda weird to see this and other "reviews" a week into a 30 day closed alpha test. Especially when they admit there is content in the game they have not participated in within the same video. I also think it's a bit weird to have a Emulator setup section? If it's supposed to be a review, then this is like reviewing a Switch game and including a section about playing it in Yuzu or Ryujinx. It's still useful information that viewers will appreciate but has nothing to do with the actual game right? I would've liked to see more thoughts on things actually in the game, like the exotics (how do those compare to the variants we already have), what it feels like not have sliding or grenades, our main character isn't so customizable skill wise but hey we talk more in a prologue mission than we ever did in a whole expansion, NPCs actually exist and can fight with us on missions and aren't just endless radio calls, the variety of NPC Lightbearers and armors inspired by different cultures, the mission variety within the story missions (there's an on rails shooter section combined with a highway chase, crazy). Just looking at the game and saying "Well I wish all this was in D2" feels off and not very fair to the game you're reviewing. And, if this is your first Alpha test, then yes most of the communication will not be in public platforms like X and will be more up to date within the actual test channels on Discord that most tests use these days. I'm really just being critical of the title of the video. Again, I appreciate the video Fallout, thank you, I look forward to a follow-up at the end of the alpha with more of your thoughts.
I want to love this game but the pay to win is always the reason why I don't play mobile game. If they want some kind of monetization, I prefer a season pass model, but pay to win had always been the best model for high potential profit for little work.
I never got to play the sparrow race when it was in, but I've always thought they were missing out by not making it. If they made it, like seriously made it, with customizable sparrows, different tracks, different modes, effectively making it a whole other game, that's an entirely different kind of game within the game. It may have even attracted an entire separate gaming community who would otherwise not even touch Destiny 2. (Or give people an alternate thing to do when they were tired of regular seasonal content.) Seriously missed opportunity there.
I just wish they’d add 3rd person mode to D2, it works so good and there have been glitches in the past that have allowed for that in early vanilla. You can see it work well when suspended by stasis in pvp, that’s such a little change that I think would change how people play and perceive destiny
it already exists. go play it so Bungie can see that you love it so much you're willing to go back to the previous game just to play it and maybe they'll consider. Your voice is not as loud as your collective playtime.
That’s how AI voices should be used. As placeholders until all the real voice actors are finished recording their lines. Having an AI voice placeholder is certainly better than the sudden awkward silence of only reading the captions.
Here, I'll save you some time because every D2 creator is gonna make a video like this: If you play D2 and don't play mobile games: NO If you play D2 and play mobile games: give it a patch or 2 for them to work out the early installment weirdness, if you've played other gachas you know what I'm talking about If you don't play D2 and play mobile games: Yes, the production is top-notch but as usual for gachas, watch how you spend in these early months.
Having raid races in a gacha game is honestly the most hilarious and depressing things that could ever be. People who aren't very experienced with gacha games don't understand how pay to win competitions get in these things. Basically the raid races will boil down to who's teams wallet is bigger skill will make about a 10-25% difference. TLDR for anyone who isn't a gacha gamer or someone who has extensively played gacha games the more dupes of a character the more powerful it becomes. In games like genshin they are called constellations in destiny rising they unlock perks in the "skill tree" tab. These light crystalls you gain to empower each character are not just things like bonuses to stats but usually completely change how the characters abilities work and the power scaling of that character. Basically a character you have pulled 7 times is always going to better than the same character someone else pulled once. This will shatter the competitive landscape and does so in many gacha games that include pvp/pve leaderboard races. This is a huge problem in general for competitiveness but also the survivability of the game. Personally I have no qualms with Destiny: Rising dying as most net-ease games tend to do its just sad to watch people with hope get suckered into spending tons of money in a mediocre rip-off of a beloved IP and then be left holding the bag because a company sold an IP to what is basically the video game industry equivalent of a Bangladeshi call center scam farm when the servers get shut offline in less than a few years time. Rant over.
I'm glad to hear there's character customization for the Wolf guardian. And I really am interested in the lore aspect. Not great at playing games without a controller though so we'll see if they make it available on ps5 or something like Genshin Impact. tbh in the pas I would probably have spent money on this like I did on genshin and even D2 (if I feel it's good enough to deserve it) but right now I don't even have money for bills and food so I'd definitely be slaving in the f2p mines here. "People who like destiny lore, or people who play gatcha games" ...I am both of those people TvT Also; condolences to all the D1 players on SRL being there instead of in D2.
The best gacha's in my opinion are the kind you can play and earn enough currency to get the characters you want/need without dropping any real life money. Then they drop some real hot skins you can pay for if you want, but absolutely don't need.
No lie, I am loving rising and WILL be putting money into it. I am having a blast unlocking all the characters, learning about this world, and just seeing all the content the game has to offer. That content is a lot bytl the way, and it all has a purpose, unlike in Destiny. Destiny's loot/leveling system has gotten so boring that the system rising uses is so refreshing. I miss the days in D1 where you had to actually level your gear and weapons, you had to play the raid or end game content to get max level. If you found a new gun, you had to actually use it to add perks to it. Destiny just haven't been the same since then and rising gives me that feeling back.
i hope powercreep doesnt screw over older units. kinda glad the only other gacha i play (genshin) keeps that from happening too much. i stubbornly cling to my version 1.x DPS like a cagey old man, so hopefully this game will let you do that while still being viable towards the endgame
I feel that for Destiny mobile gacha game with raids and somehow nice refresh take on the lore (another timeline!) is good positive aspect. Maybe more people will try destiny 2 and gonna stick to community? We will see but for someone who plays gachas I have to admit, if the prices will start from 1 dollar and you will have chances to earn premium currencies this mobile game could be next genshin impact. I'm not saying it in negative way.
To some degree, this is what I expected. Having played both D2 and a decent amount of gacha games, there's definitely a lot of stuff that is definitely standard for it (the banners, characters being locked to specific weapon types and elements and abilities, leveling up via. XP crystals with some sort of ascension system, upgading abilities etc). Overall opinion is still skeptical, as whether the story has substance beyond just the "what if" and if NetEase screws up the gacha monetization hard remains to be seen. Will continue to observe from a distance for now.
I've made a D2 account that is 100% f2p, just to see how far i can go and i was surprised at the amount of things available to players. It's limiting, but it's not a deal breaker and you can do a lot of things still. I'll try the same with this
I payed for some dlcs but for the most part I am free f2p. Never bought anything from eververse, no seasons and the only dlcs I ever bought were Forsaken, anniversary pack and one other that was on discount. Due to the free bundles bungie gives every couple months in stuff like PlayStation plus and that one time they gave three dlcs away for free on epic games, you can get most stuff. I think the only things you can't get are the Forsaken exotics, the anniversary pack and the final shape. It's one of the main reasons I think lightfall wasn't that bad. Because they gave free players a ton of stuff to get started (also because of how destiny's grinding system is steuctured, the only thing stopping you from going anywhere in the game is dlcs and power level, so if you grind for like two weeks you can go anywhere outside of payed areas). There are still issues with the tutorial being horrid (bring red war back bungo) and promotions for the newest season and dlcs being shoved into the player's faces.
I just hope that the main characters won't fall into irrelevance as new characters are introduced. It hapoened in a certain G game, and I hate to see history repeating itself.
I'm worried about the monetization coming but dang.. this helps hit that destiny itch that D2 is just nit getting right now. It sucks that the alpha save files will be lost
Didn't know about this game. Seems "neat", but I won't cry if I never get around to it really. Im not a fan of that whole alternate time lines concept anymore. It's been used to death by movies/games now. I'd rather it just be a "sometime in the past/future..." situation. The lore can still be Canon or not since it's being developed by some 3rd party company and it's content will never bump into the regular Destiny canon materials. As for the setup and all that complex k&m thing, I'm sure that'll stay as mobile oriented for touch screens. But I'm sure playing this on a surface pro or iPad might make it work more as intended on mobile devices for that touch screen aspect. It being a mobile game, obviously you can't expect or compare it to the graphics or the load times of console/pc games. It's a much smaller game/engine/file by comparison.
I will definitely be playing the full release since I didn’t get an alpha code (apparently only content creators did) but I will be spending ZERO HUMAN DOLLARS on extras.
My Buddy said it was pretty cool. Sounds like the story and the game is solid. I don't do mobile because the screen is to small even with a 7 inch screen. I love Destiny cool that it's on mobile.
Take this from an ex Genshin stand. All gatcha games will only be as good as they need to be, never better. All they have to do is hook you in and keep you playing for a few months, eventually you will justify spending money. At that point you are invested and will most likely stick around to make the most of this investment. And the endless cycle of new characters and weapons will keep you interested until you are able to break free, or choose to drown with the whales.
No. And for one simple reason. I have absolutely no cause to care about this, and it's one of those things I'm grateful for since I don't like mobile gaming nor do I care for the monetization of such models. This isn't just a prequel but it's an entirely separate timeline (which doesn't bode well from what Elsie said of the innumerable other "dark" timelines she's witnessed with ours being the sole exception), and we've not controlling our own Guardian but rather established characters as a hero shooter. Don't much care for that. We're not seeing the results of our own story from the Light and Darkness saga, and I've very little reason to be invested in something that won't affect that. At this point I'm just glad it didn't take from Bungie's resources, and hopeful they'll take pointers from what's worked in this mobile version like the Sparrow racing to port into the console version/Destiny's "prime" timeline. I want to see the continuation of that, where those loose plot threads go and how the future develops. Not look into a past that has no bearing on what we've done and seen.
I will say I think I’m one of the weird D2 and gacha players. I see a bunch of players talking about monetization stuff. Then I’m over here like a guaranteed 5* character in only 60pull holy moly. To put in perspective. The main gacha I play is Honkai star rail which is a character 50/50 every 80-90ish pulls. I think the reason I like rising is sorta the difficulty it has rn and also that normal destiny doesn’t have much for me so It’s fun to get a slightly different destiny experience with new things I want to try.
Not sure if you can use it on this game, but Google Play Games has a beta PC client emulator as well that just worked out of the box for me on one other mobile game I've tried it on. I don't use it regularly, since the mobile game I do play (a gacha game, BTW) I mean to play on a mobile device. I haven't tried playing this game, but it looked really good as a mobile game, to me at least, while watching streaming (Aztecross, but I can't say I watched a lot). It seems to capture the gameplay style. On the whole, I philosophically agree with disliking P2W. But TBH, I care nothing about cosmetics or appearance. So if a game is truly F2P, I'm not going to buy anything. I only feel like buying things with gameplay value, or at least convenience value, sooo, yeah, I'm essentially saying that the only things I would buy would be things considered P2W. Personally, I'd rather pay a sub for a game like this, like many MMOs I have played in the past. But that ship has sailed, and nowadays, if a live service/MMO ships and isn't F2P, it's pretty dead in the water. Since D1's launch, I've bought every single expansion/game/annual pass, and have spent essentially zero on Eververse (I think I bought the "Thriller" dance emote way back in D1 because I was amused). In a way, playing these games (any gacha, from the pure mobile ones to Genshin) as F2P is a challenge in itself, as you have to carefully manage getting the currency and then spending it wisely. To me, it's far more challenging this way, though also more frustrating at times, than just buying your way through the difficulty.
Screw all mobile games, I've never played one that doesn't spam me with ads and/or trying to force me to spend money. Id happily buy the game if it means I get access to the whole game properly and the ads leave me alone
I don't know if I'm a gacha gamer, I've always been on PC and never taken the chance to jump in on a "new" one But I've seen them in the past and thought "this looks fun, I can guarantee I won't spam P2W, maybe someday i'll play" so this seems like a good time to dip my toes in It's helped along by Bungie's god awful track record recently, on top of my day 1 clan basically all having retired post-witness. Don't really play D2 much anymore, despite my love for it, so maybe this'll fill that space while letting me try out gacha and see what the hype is about
Basically if there is no pay walled content I will try it out, if the powercreep is really bad like I feel like I gotta pull almost every new unit than I’ll quit, don’t mind it being gacha but it really depends on the game how bad pay to win is
Characters being only able to use x weapon types doesn’t change much from D2. I want to use a Handcannon, better have Champ Mods. I want to use a Glaive, better have Champ Mods. I already am used to be forced into a knee capped loadout, I don’t see the problem there. If D2 wasn’t the way it is since Shadowkeep, I’d see the problem.
Appreciate the fair overview Fallout. As a veteran of gacha games, the real test, for me, is if a free to play only player can use only the in-game earnable currency and still clear all the available content. If the answer there is "Yes", then its just a question of where you want to spend your leisure time. Save your in-game currency, pull only using what you earn, and don't spend a dime.
Unironically this game is gonna have more support and content than actual Destiny 2. It's a gacha, where gameplay and content is monetized rather than cosmetics. I'm not interested, but if they support this well it's gonna print money and money is gonna make a healthy game.
as soon as i heard it was gacha i wasn't super interested. The only gacha i've ever gotten into is Godzilla Battle Lline because there is a ton you get just by playing the game rather than paying. whenever new unites release, every player gets at lest one piece of each of them via login rewards, leveling them is on you, but there are ways to do it. I personally hoard gems and event tokens to buy upgrade materials and whatnot or pull from guaranteed 4 star pulls focused into whatever unit i'm leveling. but every other gacha i've tried? i've ultimately dropped, so even if i had the space on my phone to try destiny rising, i doubt it would outlast Battle line for me.
I just wish I could always be in third person in D2, I get that doesn't work great for pvp but I'm fine with pve only or one 3rd pvp Playlist that rotates.
I love people throwing around the ptw title, most of those people either arent playing the alpha or play the alpha but are only 2-3 hours in. I have played the alpha lots (full week off work(not for this game)) I have unlocked EVERY character, and most has 2-3 copy upgrades. NO you cannot buy guns NO you cannot spend thousands and not get anything You do not need to pay to play, the alpha is free to play (microtransactions are disabled) And lots of players have unlocked everything, the game THROWS the unlock material at you, and with smart spending you can get everything pretty quickly. There is however 1 key aspect that i see as bad, thats the pinnacle energy system, which locks you out of rewards when you run out, and gives you energy at daily reset. I dont like this purely because those with more spare time like myself cant target farm like crazy. But you can spend silver for more energy of course, thats the only p2w aspect of the game. And that needs to be changed, thats all! For fallouts question of how far you can progress without paying? You can beat everything, it wont take you any longer than most players, those who pay out for maxed characters withing the first few days are shooting themselves in the foot here... you pay to skip one whole aspect of the game, and it really ruins the game and the way it feels unlocking a character for the first time! Which really feels great. Now of course these things can change, they might remove the ridiculous amount of stuff they throw at you, but they will be met with heavy criticism for doing so, and the devs so far are doing their best to stay on the good side of the community. Tl.dr: very fun, NOT p2w, great start (alpha player)
I will also add, the game is lots of fun, the end game 'raid' like activites are great, and while easy (1 encounter per activity) it puts in good work, and encourages players to team up and work together, there is a built in voice chat to talk to other players, and i have done this on many occasions. The game is FUN I reccomend people give it a go if they even feel slightly tempted, you might not enjoy it, or you might have lots of fun.
Just so you know Fallout, you can't actually pay for anything right now, since it is in alpha, they are going to wipe all data after the alpha ends. We have 0 confirmation so far that anything will be carried over, we aren't sure we are even getting an emblem for it.
Hopefully they add it to consoles eventually the way they've added genshin now. I would love to play this game, but I ain't got a good enough phone to run it, and my laptop old as dirt rn.
If it in some way benefits Bungie and allows them to make D2 better, then I'll remain indifferent. I vehemently despise gachas but I can't stop people from spending their money the way that they want.
I dunno...I'd consider giving it a shot if there was a dedicated PC client. Though I do not trust Netease. Not after the Bait and Switch they pulled with Diablo Immortal's monetization between beta and release. The annoying thing is that Once Human shows the company is capable of releasing something that doesn't have an aggressively scummy buisness model. I'm not in the market for another Gatcha game though. If this one wants a slot on my gaming schedule it would need to have both excellent gameplay AND monetization. I doubt this one will satisfy both conditions but we'll see. Yeah...I'd still need to see a PC client to seriously consider playing this.
I´d say this: I would never touch a mobile game. However, I wouldnt mind if Bungie had made this and used the profits to allocate to Destiny 2. An oppertunity missed I think.
This game unironically slaps pretty hard. The giant Shank chase fight on the back of the Pike was enough to sell me on it. Looks like they'll actually have a legendary campaign also. I'm impressed. I understand the disdain for the p2w elements similar to Genshin, but I believe you'd likely still find tons of hours of enjoyment without paying.
Destiny players complaining about monetization in a completely free to play game like they don't cope with dropping $100 a year + $20 armor ornament bundles whenever the mood takes them is peak irony
@chickenjimmy6552 you don't have to gamble in Rising if you don't want to chucklenuts. Almost every review available says players are completely fine fully investing into Wolf the free MC
For me it’s just the fact that it’s a typical p2w mobile game, I was personally hoping it’d be better than the typical mobile game. But oh well, it’s what I expected.
My issue is mobile games will ALWAYS be more inventive than AAA devs yet recieve no praise because its a mobile game. Imagine if bungie just gave a fuck and added interesting content instead of rehashed activities and abilities under a $100 price tag because they content starved the playerbase so long they know everyones gonna buy it for a crumb of varied gameplay.
Id rather play this than Marathon. At least this is still Destiny. Just pay to win Destiny and even though i wont dish out tons of money, ill still dish out money when i absolutely need to. Especially if it hooks me with the characters and gameplay.
I was granted access, but I played it for 5 minutes and gave up. I just CANT play a mobile game. I don't like holding my phone sideways😂. I'll wait till it's easily playable on pc.
All I'll say about mobile games is that Apex Mobile was way better than PC/Console Apex, and if they'd had a straight cash shop instead of literal RNG cash boxes, that game would rightfully still be online today. 😢
i think using ai as a PLACEHOLDER for voice lines that still need recording/touching up is useful especially in early stages of games. if they stick around tho i’m gonna be very very disappointed.
I’ve been a whore for the Destiny franchise since 2014, and this absolutely not for me. Graphics and gun play are dated as hell. The game is plagued with classic mobile game toxic monetization. Some of the ideas and concepts they came up with are cool. But this is worse than going back to D1 with Candy Crush monetization. Hard pass for me.
A company spent years making a product, and to you its not worth any money. I like free stuff, too. I assign value to things to determine how much Im willing to pay. This game is worth $20.
From what I've seen Destiny Rising looks pretty good so far, obviously it's an alpha so things can change drastically so we'll have to see. What's even crazier is that the whole campaign is JUST the prologue, I'm gonna assume that many Lightbearers will acquire jumpships & travel to different planets like The Moon, Mars, Venus, Mercury, etc. I see they have been taking inspirations from early D1 concepts like the giant robot hand cover in red sand. I'm excited to see where this goes. Its never said it isn't canon to Destiny. Because it's takes place in an Alternate Universe? That's like saying Elise's dark future isn't canon because it's in an alternate timeline. You used the "What If" series but those are all connected to the MCU. It doesn't need to crossover for it to be deemed official now.
It was literally stated in the reveal that Destiny Rising takes place in an alternative Destiny setting. It’s not an Elsie time travel situation. It’s a game that uses the Destiny setting and goes in a different direction with it. If Destiny 1 and 2 is to Destiny what Marvel’s 616(Main Marvel Comic continuity) is to Marvel, then Destiny Rising is to Destiny what the original Ultimate universe was to Marvel(Alternative take on the characters and setting). It’s not canon to the mainline Destiny setting because it isn’t part of the main timeline or apart of Elsie’s loops that led into the main Destiny timeline.
I hate mobile games and I hate that the prequel lore albeit alternate timeline can't be included in Destiny 2. I will wait for someone to play it and make a movie of all the cutscenes to get to know the extra lore. They will not get my money, I refuse playing a part in their greed.
@@Ink_and_Motion_Studio If they have a Macbook with the M series chips, he's going to be emulating inside an emulator. Performance will likely be terrible.
Eh, I'll try it out if it comes to Google Play PC, but I don't really have much interest otherwise. I certainly have no drive to fight with Bluestacks to be able to play it and my phone is basically a potato so it will not run on that.
In short, I can see some people really getting into it, others not so much. Make up your mind for yourself, I plan on touching it every now & then for possible unique story tidbits, but plan on putting $0 into the game. You do you.
"In short, I can see some people really getting into it, others not so much."

What you are saying here is that your whole video is basically 100% useless.
The speaker is a girl not a boy
I actually love that Kabr is such a huge dork in the game, it makes his sacrifice in in the Vault feel even more horrifying.
I was unlocking chars pretty quickly but if that’s different in the full release imma be pissed
Edit: coming back to add that there are also secret conditions to unlock heroic public events like D2
Also the Shank chase was insane like we’re never getting that in D2

Something is rising, and it sure ain't destiny 🥵
It's my crippling depression
Totally! Kabr being such a huge dork in the game makes his sacrifice in The Vault hit so much harder. It’s like you’re not just losing a character, you’re losing this lovable, quirky guy who didn’t deserve that fate.
Surprisingly good looking for a mobile game. Monetization is just as bad as expected though.
Industry standard at this point.
Luckily monetization doesn’t exist in the alpha right now.
@@mrsmi1ey keep eating that slop cuck
"Its a gacha"
Ah good this game i never heard of can be skipped. Neat.
I mean, Gacha games aren't bad as is. It's bad when it's combined with p2w. Which not all are.
@@Laplaceehow are gatcha games not inherently p2w?
As I understand, gatcha games = gambling to get characters, and always let you pay for more lever pulls. Getting more characters and materials and upgrades from that gambling is an advantage, and you can pay for it...
@@Oblivion9996
TLDR: Destiny is gambling too, but it doesn't let you pay for "faster" lever pulls.
In most gacha video games, they typically can be earned ingame for free, so you'll still have access to everything completely free, you are pretty much paying to speed it up. It's essentially the "pay 2k silver to skip the campaign on your other 2 characters." You don't have to;
a) even play on your other 2 characters,
b) pay and just go through the campaign yourself to unlock it,
but you could.
Destiny Rising has SRL
Destiny 2 Doesn’t have SRL

It’s just absolute madness how much stuff is in this game that we’ve been wanting in d2
@Zhiroc I would be very surprised it did not launch on the Play PC client. That would certainly help.
Id say for me personally its worth watching
Agree, wotrth watching. worth pointing at it now and again and say "Why not this???"
I'm just hoping this is finally a Destiny game I can casually play on the steam deck. Hope the monetization doesn't get too in the way.
This feels like a lunch break game for me. I'm interested in whatever lore we get, and I've always wanted to play in pre-Vanguard era.
I just wish they’d add 3rd person mode to D2, it works so good and there have been glitches in the past that have allowed for that in early vanilla. You can see it work well when suspended by stasis in pvp, that’s such a little change that I think would change how people play and perceive destiny
Thanks that was explained very well! Appreciate it 👊🏻
The fact that the mobile game gets SRL before the actual full game, blows my mind.
it already exists. go play it so Bungie can see that you love it so much you're willing to go back to the previous game just to play it and maybe they'll consider. Your voice is not as loud as your collective playtime.
That’s how AI voices should be used. As placeholders until all the real voice actors are finished recording their lines. Having an AI voice placeholder is certainly better than the sudden awkward silence of only reading the captions.
Thank you for the thoughts!
I'm pretty sure the lore with the hive diverts from the main canon as I believe the first hive sighting came from guardians going to the moon
Here, I'll save you some time because every D2 creator is gonna make a video like this:
If you play D2 and don't play mobile games: NO
If you play D2 and play mobile games: give it a patch or 2 for them to work out the early installment weirdness, if you've played other gachas you know what I'm talking about
If you don't play D2 and play mobile games: Yes, the production is top-notch but as usual for gachas, watch how you spend in these early months.
"People who like destiny lore, or people who play gatcha games" ...I am both of those people TvT
Also; condolences to all the D1 players on SRL being there instead of in D2.
You can connect your PS5 controller to your phone via bluetooth or USB-C.
The best gacha's in my opinion are the kind you can play and earn enough currency to get the characters you want/need without dropping any real life money. Then they drop some real hot skins you can pay for if you want, but absolutely don't need.
The trials of osiris warlock banner is going to make Hoyoverse regret not doing this first
my headcannon is that the game takes place in one of elsie's dark timelines
After watching your Dead by Daylight video, the thumbnail for this video did not surprise me whatsoever
It hapoened in a certain G game, and I hate to see history repeating itself.
well, if you didn't know, they did announce the raid on their discord. I guess people who aren't in that are gonna miss out on stuff
Me and a couple friends for the alpha codes. There are A LOT of players in DRCA the discord. It wasn't just content creators
See that's the thing- also being a vet of these, if you justify spending money, you already lost the game.
This is the second time I’ve heard the phrase “yuck your yum” in a week when I’ve literally never heard that before in my life.
I want that Wolf armor for my Hunter so bad!!
I think it looks fun, I'll definitely be giving it a shot at least.
Screw all mobile games, I've never played one that doesn't spam me with ads and/or trying to force me to spend money. Id happily buy the game if it means I get access to the whole game properly and the ads leave me alone
I don't know if I'm a gacha gamer, I've always been on PC and never taken the chance to jump in on a "new" one
But I've seen them in the past and thought "this looks fun, I can guarantee I won't spam P2W, maybe someday i'll play" so this seems like a good time to dip my toes in
It's helped along by Bungie's god awful track record recently, on top of my day 1 clan basically all having retired post-witness. Don't really play D2 much anymore, despite my love for it, so maybe this'll fill that space while letting me try out gacha and see what the hype is about
I can see myself picking this exclusively to SRL
Can you release how you transfered your account on to bluestacks? It wont let me install it on both my phone and bluestacks
"Why isn't this in Destiny 2"
Totally bro... where are the goth mommies?
It also appears like they used Gen AI to help make some (maybe all?) of the card art for the deck-building aspect of the game. Which sucks.
Oh, that's a huge negative
Well i did play honkai star rail and genshin, surely i can get by without spending money till late in game when im invested
So when do we get a "50 games of Shifting Gates"?
I love people throwing around the ptw title, most of those people either arent playing the alpha or play the alpha but are only 2-3 hours in.
I have played the alpha lots (full week off work(not for this game))
I have unlocked EVERY character, and most has 2-3 copy upgrades.
NO you cannot buy guns
NO you cannot spend thousands and not get anything
You do not need to pay to play, the alpha is free to play (microtransactions are disabled)
And lots of players have unlocked everything, the game THROWS the unlock material at you, and with smart spending you can get everything pretty quickly.
The game is FUN
I reccomend people give it a go if they even feel slightly tempted, you might not enjoy it, or you might have lots of fun.
I can’t afford to play a free game
Wait a minute Ikora can only use grenade and rocket launchers? ...But her special weapon she used in her Crucible days in D1 is a shotgun.
DR is like 1000 years prior to d1 lol, she must have changed
Apparently sparrow racing is coming to rising
Just so you know Fallout, you can't actually pay for anything right now, since it is in alpha, they are going to wipe all data after the alpha ends. We have 0 confirmation so far that anything will be carried over, we aren't sure we are even getting an emblem for it.
Is there a tutorial to install the right bluestack destiny rising?
Huh, I didn't know that was how you pronounced Kabr's name
I´d say this: I would never touch a mobile game. However, I wouldnt mind if Bungie had made this and used the profits to allocate to Destiny 2. An oppertunity missed I think.
Ayy wsg with that thumbnail gang?
This game unironically slaps pretty hard. The giant Shank chase fight on the back of the Pike was enough to sell me on it.
Looks like they'll actually have a legendary campaign also. I'm impressed. I understand the disdain for the p2w elements similar to Genshin, but I believe you'd likely still find tons of hours of enjoyment without paying.
Destiny players complaining about monetization in a completely free to play game like they don't cope with dropping $100 a year + $20 armor ornament bundles whenever the mood takes them is peak irony
D2 isn't gambling.
@chickenjimmy6552 you don't have to gamble in Rising if you don't want to chucklenuts. Almost every review available says players are completely fine fully investing into Wolf the free MC
@icarusrising2787 D2 rising is a gambling game. Very simple concept for people with a grip on reality
For me it’s just the fact that it’s a typical p2w mobile game, I was personally hoping it’d be better than the typical mobile game. But oh well, it’s what I expected.
You don't have to gamble, but the gacha system heavily persuades you if you value your time. RNG Isn't anyone's friend.
It's surprisingly good imo
I'll wait till it's easily playable on pc.
i really hate being stuck to only 2 gun types
Not anime women or men. It’s a pass as an gacha. But still not bad of gameplay, better than 90% of gachas out there.
I will play Bungie $60 in silver if I can make my Warlock look like Gwynn, face and all
I hope Bungie finds success with this, but it’s a mobile game. By definition it’s not for me. Which is just fine, I got other stuff to play.
GATEKEEP Harder Boys!
Gritted teeth or not. If you're playing this game, you're complicit with the microtrans state of the gaming industry.
I hope it gets ported to pc, seriously
I hate mobile games and I hate that the prequel lore albeit alternate timeline can't be included in Destiny 2.
I will wait for someone to play it and make a movie of all the cutscenes to get to know the extra lore.
They will not get my money, I refuse playing a part in their greed.
Sad that I can't hop onto Bluestacks myself because Apple's obsessed with their exclusivity. Game's good regardless!
Dual boot the Apple into a Windows os and problem fixed.
@@Ink_and_Motion_Studio If they have a Macbook with the M series chips, he's going to be emulating inside an emulator. Performance will likely be terrible.
I pre registered a while back but I never got an invite or whatever
Eh, I'll try it out if it comes to Google Play PC, but I don't really have much interest otherwise. I certainly have no drive to fight with Bluestacks to be able to play it and my phone is basically a potato so it will not run on that.
