Destiny Rising (specifically) should not have been Destiny 3. (Maybe some aspects of it that are positive), but more so the deal they made with Bungie. It would’ve been nice to have NetEase assist Bungie in developing further Destiny projects and games like the Activision studios did in the past, but hopefully Frontiers will change things up!
That is my hope is that rising will lead to more Bungie based Destiny games. We have known rising is coming for a long time. Bungie had almost nothing to do with it and I’m sure the devs will micro transactions it to death. The big issue Bungie has right now is they need as many players as they can get and a D3 announcement means a loot reset. Why grind any loot at all until D3 since it’s on a clock and will expire. Even worse for Destiny is why would I buy any content (expansions seasons or EV) if it’s got an expiration date? It would tank their finances, if they get in a stronger financial position sure they may be able to pitch that but right now, that proposal would get laughed out of the building by Sony. It would also help if they got their burn rate under control they take in a shit ton of cash the problem is they spend it all as fast or faster then they get it on nonsense
Most likely not THE timeline, there is over a century between the Great Disaster and the discovery of Stasis on Europa that led to the birth of dark guardians in the "dark future" timeline, and this timeline is set in the dark age which sets it back even further by another couple centuries. Unless this game's runtime will be long enough to cover that amount of lore in the story, Eris would likely fall to the darkness via other means, if ever.
@@nanosmokex6998 Well yeah, I never said it isn't possible, I'm just saying that this likely isn't THE "dark future" timeline narrated in the lore tabs. While I dont see destiny rising ending with the witness or ever getting close to seeing him i would love if in destiny 2 we get some clarification from Elsie about the different timelines and possibly recover relics that came over with her. It would be a great excuse for destiny 2 to include some of the cool weapons and concepts from rising without needing to bring them over 1 to 1 or say that they were just missing for a long time. It could even bring a character if they got wacky.
It should take place after the Collapse like being a warlord, an Iron lord possibly. Lots of lore for sure and it would be interesting to see what it would be like because there is no last city yet. Also, since it's more of a recent thing in the story for supers, for the warlords they didn't have, they only had what they had on themselves. The Risen, follow their own journey, your journey to make. (Just a thought) Like maybe even you play a character during the Golden age, then a time skip of death to a Risen. Because the game was developed by a third-party and Bungie do not have the resources to dedicate to a separate game. It’s as simple as manpower. Brining it to PC, it then becomes direct competition for the main game

I think the reason why Bungie can't do all this is because of the Tiger Engine (aka the Destiny engine) limitation. D2 is getting bloated with content either big or small so much that it breaks the game at times. How many times did D2 break? More than than you could count, there are so many bugs and glitches that it will take either weeks or months for Bungie to notice hell with the Perk Weight bug it took the community to investigate themselves on how this game is still mess with it codes. Unfortunately yeah this is probably true. Mobile gaming makes up a very large portion of all gaming revenue. Probably something to do with how accessible it is, and how streamlined it is to make purchases as your purchase info is on your phone already so it's just 2 clicks and done. Bungie won't get that revenue though. That is netease. Another company is doing the mobile game
Destiny 3 was Bungie's last chance to softly reboot the franchise in the eyes of gamers, thus saving the franchise. Thus saving their company. Instead, they chose to put their eggs in the Marathon basket, a game based on a franchise older than I an that no one cares about. Also, I'm NEVER playing a mobile game.

Destiny 2. A world full of ideas and potentials, each one loosely connected to the others. A dusty shell that refuses to break away from its own selfish formulaic tendencies which led to fame and fortune in the past. It feels like Destiny 2 is the old geezer we all know who does their routine and doesn’t like change, and Rising the fresh face of the block with new tricks and ideas. That is an unfair statement, all things considered, but when something stays as stagnant as Destiny 2 has, anything else, even a mobile game, will always be immediate more appealing. Whether we actually give in is a different story, but this is where it’s at and it’s here to stay for a long, long time.
If bungie leads stopped taking themselves so seriously and took the thumb out of their ass we could actually get some fun missions like this. A chase scene where you’re riding on a fallen bike while an iron lord with a baby ahamkara steers is awesome. Take out the pay 2 win and monetization, rising has more depth and attention than what destiny 2 has received. FFS the tower has been being rebuilt for 6 years now, I feel like in rising it would have already been fixed and have had that as another social space. It makes me sad how the potential of destiny 2 is being stifled like a civilization finding alien technology but only figuring out how use it in the crudest and most raw dog way possible.
One thing is for sure, how halo studio's made a choice for unreal engine for the new meta for content. Who knows what will happen if bungie switch to that meta. The reason, same with halo, i think is that why bungie is having so much complications in the content is because of the current engine meta. That is my reason for why destiny is falling down just saying. And if they made the same choice towards destiny 3 who knows what could happen.

bungie just genuinely lacks the creativity it used to have, especially after the layoffs
O LORD MINE
BRO WHY IS THIS ON A PHONE GAME
its too late, they should have done this years ago but they didnt and just let their greed exploit players.
Because they just see the player base as wallets
NETEASE? THAT MONEY SUCKING NETEASE????
OKAY F THE GAME I'M OUT, THEY MADE THEIR OWN GAME REALLY HARD TO PLAY, AND NOT THEY MADE A CONTRACT WITH NETEASE?
FORGOT TENCENT BUT NOW NETEASE????
Some dudes phone is gonna melt during a raid lmao
Once again proving how worthless bungie is as a dev
Why we don't get destiny 3 its simple bungie is lazy and out of workers just check the bug fixing, the story writing isn't near witch queen or forsaken yes finall shape was a god expension but they got a lot of help from sony.
Destiny should never have been a live service game.
Time travel!
Why destiny mobile easy because gacha play style and money packs
Easy why. Everyone has a phone.
I guarantee this ain't gonna run on like half the phones that are reasonable in terms of price. I hope it also gets a good PC release as well, or at least runs well on emulators.
So destiny caught up to Warframe? 😂
Honestly how sad
IMO the real Destiny Killer the whole time is Bungie themselves.....
at this point Sony should take Destiny Franchise from Bungie.... nvm Sony is woke af now days i doubt they can do anything good.....
tbh, while I'm not against it at all, I noticed saint/osiris being pushed a fair bit more than Drifter/Eris. I wanna see those two happy dammit.
@@dukethecrusader7815 It Chinese who making the mobile game i surprise they keep saint/osiris in and yes Drifter/Eris coulda been more sweet overload, might be in future content bc Corta introduce himself and Eris and her fireteam prob soon??
well considering destiny rising probably been on develop for at least 3 years, bungie just cashed out selling the ip and thats it
More micro transactions 😭
One thing is for sure, how halo studio's made a choice for unreal engine for the new meta for content. Who knows what will happen if bungie switch to that meta. The reason, same with halo, i think is that why bungie is having so much complications in the content is because of the current engine meta. That is my reason for why destiny is falling down just saying. And if they made the same choice towards destiny 3 who knows what could happen.
