Not 100% sure but I believe it's the one against MMA? I actually thought this video would be about that since that was such a surreal moment where everything looked perfect and then.... he rq'd.
The Idra/MMA game is perhaps the perfect summation of Idra as a player: he has too much confidence in his reading of the game state, and if his read is wrong, he looks silly and then rages about how terrible the opposing player was to win in that way. He scouts MMA's third command center building in the base, doesn't see MMA make one of the most baffling blunders in pro SC2 history, but *does* see MMA building a new command center at the gold base: at that point he assumes without evidence that MMA has flown the 3rd down to one of the south bases and is now building his 4th. So he shoves his army across the map in an attempt to crush MMA before he gets the 4th up, gets an okay but not crushing trade, and believes (wrongly) that he is a base behind and therefore screwed.
This was a beautifully put together video that complimented both players, my SC2 memories, and the growing e-sports community. I'd watch more of this. Well done.

Was a huge fan of both of them back in the SC2 days. It was kinda cute how they actually seemed to become genuinely good friends on EG together; not just saying so for the cameras. In the end, I think Idra accepted the role of the pantomime villain in a way.
Eventually it backfires though, because I'm sure it can be demoralizing when 80% of the fanbase hates your guts. That's probably why he doesn't even own a PC anymore, and Huk is still in the scene
I don't think so. He's been pretty open about how he felt competition in that sense was unhealthy for him, and he's just chosen to direct that feeling into something more positive, namely weight lifting and finishing school.
This channel is so good. I've always heard of starcraft in regards to the beginning of e-sports but never followed the scene. It's really cool to get a glimpse of the past even tho I've never played or followed the game.
It's an awesome game. Check out Winter (WinterStarcraft on UA-cam, WinterGaming on Twitch). His stream/videos are very friendly to the newcomer, where he does tutorials and build guides, and casts bronze league games and stuff. Watching those bronze league casts really helps give you confidence to ladder, because you can see there are other people around your skill level still playing the game, and there are people out there who you can beat, even though the game has been going for so many years. Once you're more comfortable in the game, and are looking for more skilled high level games/commentary, I highly recommend PiG (x5_PiG on twitch, PiG on UA-cam). Though his stream kinda assumes you know what's going on, so you might be lost without background knowledge on the game. Hope to see you in the SC2 community. It's recently gone free-to-play, so there's nothing to lose just checking it out. :)

Greg wasn't really that bad, he just had a tendency to get salty when he lost, which isn't really unique in the gaming community. He shit talked a lot but overall, especially once he started playing team games, he was super chill. Source: was friends with and played with Greg for about a year in between his SC2 / HotS careers, taught him DotA2 with a couple others. Before becoming friends with him I thought he was just a toxic BM piece of shit. Just figured I'd throw it out there since people really hyper focus on his (admittedly) cocky attitude and shitty behaviour from earlier in his SC2 career.

Idra once exited a pro game when he had 200 supply. I never forgave him for that. He said he had no chance to win because of unit comp, but he wouldn’t even play it out to see.
4 major blunders in that void ray game: -no detection to reveal cloaked or hallucinated units. -not noticing the zero damage his corruptors were taking from the fake void rays. -no hydralisk + infestor, to protect his expensive broodlords. -not playing it out to the end.

Idras losses always were highlights, even though there was no shortage of them. Screw him.
Was never into StarCraft so it was really cool to see all the casters who have now transitions to Twitch and UA-cam.
i loved seeing idra rage quit and lose back in the day.
I remember when this happened, i couldn't believe he tapped out of that, then laughed for about 30 minutes :))))))
Damn they super old looking now... feels bad man
really well put together video :)
Do a video on Flash-Jaedong rivalry!
That would take hours. I'd still watch it.
Tuna Empire but you have to include Bisu and the other Protoss guy which name I always forget as well, since they all became Bonjwas at practically the same time which didn't happened before/after it again.
Razer did make a documentary about it. If you didn't watch it you should, it's pretty good
@@asmylia9880 Stork was the other Protoss.
Mik Luna ah thanks, maybe I should pin a note on my forehead or such...
This channel is AWESOME.
I really enjoyed this video. One day I'll be showing this to my kids telling them of the glory days.
Please Please Please Please Please Please keep making more starcraft content
dead game
It's definitely not dead, and the esports side seems to be way healthier now than say 2 years ago.
These videos....... I CANT STOP WATCHING THEM AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Too bad I don't even know how to play Starcraft
pfp matching the comment so hard rn
its f2p now, you can always hop on and try the tutorial
I don't have a single clue what happened in-game but you really did a nice job with this vid. It was really entertaining!
I was there when the first video came out about this
lmao
Great recap. Wish you had mentioned HuK's MLG Orlando win though, for many of us HuK fans that was the defining moment of his career.
Miss playing Starcraft and watching matches with Idra, Huk, Stephano and Boxer. Reminiscing better days
Huk and Stephano! I used to watch MLGs TV show on Australian paid TV even though I'd seen all the recent games just cos it was cool to see my favorite players on the TV
I don't know if you've watched the current tournaments but let me just say the games now are just crazy good. Lots of action, crazy micro-plays, more diverse playstyles (except ZvZ) clashing, and lastly a foreigner just won a premier Korean tourny.
better days? dude, the current SC tournaments are still amazing!!
Idra once exited a pro game when he had 200 supply. I never forgave him for that. He said he had no chance to win because of unit comp, but he wouldn’t even play it out to see.
Do a video on skadoodle
Bandito_Shibe Vodka_Printer no i am not crying your crying
me too i am not crying you are the ones crying!
If they do, they need to include his many gaming accomplishments pre-csgo.
4 major blunders in that void ray game:
-no detection to reveal cloaked or hallucinated units.
-not noticing the zero damage his corruptors were taking from the fake void rays.
-no hydralisk + infestor, to protect his expensive broodlords.
-not playing it out to the end.
Dat moment when I realized that this guy was Day9, he's so much better now XD
Tsihoarana Randimbivololon day9’s yt channel seems dead. Makes me sad for him. Does he atleast get a lot of twitch viewers?
@@velocity1146 he's got an average of 1 to 3k viewers sometimes get 6k or more just by streaming various game like hearthstone mtg arena and dota2
Thanks for the video. I always wondered what happened with these two guys
Esports was never better than prime Starcraft 2
Imagine the headache Idra would get over Maru’s proxy play.
Hey guys! If you like Daniel's real Kappa shirt, you find it and more here: thesco.re/2RRwk8D
Do pro roshan fails and aegis steals, dota2.
Pls stop him to shaking his hand... lol...
Sir can you make an episode regarding on "GRINDING" like leveling character for hours. The history of the term and such regarding to it. Ty ty ty
You look at the wrong camera a lot. There should be a little light on your camera to show you which one is recording. You're welcome mate, better luck next video!
YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSS I WAS WAITING FOR THIS EPISODE FOR SO LONG!
