- America's National Independence Day Parade takes place annually on July 4th at 11:45 am in Washington, D.C., on Constitution Avenue from 7th to 17th Street before a street audience of hundreds of thousands of spectators. The Parade consists of invited bands, fife and drum corps, floats, military and specialty units, giant balloons, equestrian, drill teams, VIP's, national dignitaries, and celebrity participants. The Parade is a major national event which seeks to draw the attention of Americans to the real meaning for the holiday. It is a patriotic, flag-waving, red white and blue celebration of America's birthday!

This parade reminds me of our state fair parade because nobody in the parade was particularly well know, but there they were, out there performing their hearts out, and the audience enjoyed it and I did too. My favorite acts were The Ladybirds and the Hoke County High School Marching band.
And, oh, yes, The Fyfe and Drum corps near the beginning of the parade!! Loved their marching!

Surprised with the heavy turnout...especially with how hot it was and the threat of thunderstorms. I surely thought we would get drenched. Overall a great and fun parade...met a lot of great people before and after the parade.
I was with the salmen high band and we had one go to the er and another faint because of the heat

如果有三軍聯合樂隊出來演奏，那聲勢絕對是震撼山河，何況他們有很多軍歌非常好聽，如海軍起錨進行曲、星條旗進行曲及雙頭鷹進行曲、綠扁帽之歌(愛國歌曲)......等。

I understand why the marching bands in the northern states have long sleeved uniforms. But goodness, those poor southern students. Such warm uniforms with long sleeves, headgear, etc. Good for them.

If you want to see a real American military parade, search for "US Berlin Brigade 4th July Parade". They were done annually back in the 80s.

The world's most powerful nation cannot even put up a proper military parade. The marching pace of our soldiers is boorishly slow and sloppy compared to other countries like Britain, France, Russia or even India. But then again any show of strength in America is perceived as being "fascistic".
