    Why is Landstar not posting the load details on the load board?

    Hi Ryan, I enjoy your videos they have been very helpful. I have a quick question, I am a new BCO here at Landstar and will be running into California some. Does my trailer have to have skirting to go into California? I noticed your trlr in this video doesn't have it and was wondering if this is a requirement?

    Rate.... can that be negotiated?
    Tolls.... who is responsible?
    Thanks. I like your videos

      IF it is a third party load, you sometimes can negotiate, however, it is landstar direct customer, you cannot. BCO are responsible for tolls.

      Thanks so much for your support! Landstar has been the company that treats me well and I like the flexibility and I do think it is a great company to work for. If you go to the our UA-cam Channel and see a few most watches videos about Landstar series. You will get a better idea why I returned to it and what to watch for and how it compares to other trucking companies. Hope it will help!

    perfect timing Ryan, made 12 calls to brokers last 2 days, all calls were wrong $ for load, no callback by broker, or bait and switch

    • @justtruckin2.033
      @justtruckin2.033 4 роки тому +2

      You calling the wrong ones 😅
      Actually, it happens frequently with some. You learn who to avoid, and who simply made a mistake. Like today, my rate con was off by $1000. It took all of 5 minutes to sort it out.
      Ryan is right though. Screen shot or email those loads to yourself. That way you have the proof if something goes sideways later.

      If you don't have a trailer yet, look for a load that is preloaded. Usually a direct shipper. Call the agent and introduce yourself and see if they will let you pick up the load without dropping an empty just to get yourself rolling. I had brought a load to Davenport FLA about a month ago from home here in Canada and was looking for a place to drop mine. They guy who got it was waiting for over 2 weeks for a trailer and was happy to see me! Good luck to you 👍

    Good advise all around. Especially your advise about checking if a load can pick up at a time that better meets your schedule.
    I use one in Oregon who's always flexible. Which benefits me greatly. Especially if I've ran hard getting there, and need a bit more than a 10 break.

    I'm going to start making UA-cam videos about all this stuff. I have been in the Trucking Industry for 8 years now and I came from a Family of Truck Drivers from my uncles working for Pilgrims Pride now called JBS and my dad working in the Oilfield Hauling water since the late 70"s. Do they not send you confirmation on what you agreed to on the load? Please understand, an Agent should always add limber fees etc in the quote they give the shippers for the load so sometimes they can quote too low leaving them and the Carriers with cheap Frieght. Thier are times too where the shipper is only able to do so much on a load so that's where the Agent can be willing to lower the amount they receive and the Carriers lower thier amount some and meet in the middle if you decide on this load as a Carrier. This is the reason I know some shy away from new agent's but it may be they are just still learning and can be an awesome Agent to work with, knowledge on both sides is key to success working smarter not harder so now that I have learned a lot more on the Brokering Freight and I have been a Driver and still am, I am going to start making videos to hopefully mend some relationships lol.

      Good weight as in, Is the weight listed the correct weight? Example load advertised as 10k but is really 45k.

    • @relaxationstation7374
      @relaxationstation7374 3 роки тому +1

      At LandStar, the weight that is posted on a load is nothing more than computer screen box filler.
      LandStar's loadboard often post loads that say 10,000 or 15,000 pounds but the load actually weighs 45,000 pounds when you get it on your trailer.
      LandStar's Eastern European agents often post bait and switch loads that actually don't pay as much as they have posted that they pay on the load board or are the product that they have posted that the shipment is supposed to be.
      And these same agents will post loads as good paying hazmat loads and when you call in or reach the shipper, you find out that the load is neither good paying or hazmat.
      These, mostly foreign, LandStar scam agents have been reported to LandStar management over and over again and LandStar does absolutely nothing about them.
      Even if you get a copy of the rate confirmation, I have still had LandStar agents come back and send me a new rate confirmation enroute to the pickup that pays $600.00 less than the original rate confirmation and it took LandStar about a month to get me $300.00 of the stolen money back but they still don't do anything about the criminal Landstar agency except strongly advise you to Stay Off Of The LandStar Loadboard And Use Lane Match!
      I think that the problem is that, LandStar agents are also brokers who have to offer LandStar BCOs one rate but if they can get LandStar's BCOs to refuse to haul the freight then they can push it off onto other unsuspecting victims for a much lower rate and make much more money be getting the load hauled, literally for free.
