If I could... I'd give a thousand of likes !!! Lorin Maazel R.I.P.
Maazel is perfectly tuned with Mahler and the appropriate conductor for the austrian composer
I have to laugh because so many composers in the 20th century eschewed melody because they could not match Mahler. This is a piece that sings from beginning to end. What a joy!
I hope the people living in this part of Spain appreciate that they have a world class orchestra.
A magnificent performance. Mahler is now saying, “here I am, this is the first of many.”
25:40 That has to be the "cleanest" bass solo I've ever heard. Perfection, and the guy doesn't look like he's struggling or tense, beautiful...!!
Best version of Mahler no.1. Bravo Maazel, the true master of conducting.
Magnificent!!!! Maazel and orchestra. G. Mahler: Symphony No. 1, "Titan" Definitely the best performance of this piece I have ever heard. 👏 👏 👏 👏, Bravo ❤️
The Full Monty⚠
This is the type of orchestra Gustav Mahler must have envisioned when he wrote this Symphony. They give everything, no holds barred, big hearted and full throttle. I love this orchestra!
It’s always a thrill to see the brass standing at the finale. I know they’re not leaving anything behind; they’re giving their maximum. I don’t feel cheated.
One of the things I most enjoy is seeing the conductor in action and I simply LOVE watching Maazel's effort and energy towards the very last minutes!
The first movement of this symphony is absolutely majestic, it makes me think about the awesomeness of the creation and gives me some kind of nostalgic feeling...
Thank you!! ♥️
No matter how many times I listen to this masterpiece it never fails to delight. How miraculous is the musical narrative it weaves from beginning to end. It is as much a delight for the performers as the audience. This is the eternal gift of music.
Magnifica
The best performance ever!
Truly a titan in every aspect. Great performance.
Goooooooooooooooodness! That is the single best double bass solo I have ever heard in the opening of the third movement. Bravo! And, generally, a superb performance.
A powerful rendition by a legendary conductor
Esecuzioe stupenda!

Excellent microphone placement/balance by the recording engineers that captures a panoramic vista of stereophonic sound allowing the listener to hear with great clarity all of the different orchestral instruments and their sections.
Reminds me of the late 1960s stereo recordings where engineers wanted to display their advances in vinyl record stereo separation. This is all very well to my liking as Charles Buxton pointed out.
Thank you very much Maestro Maazel for bringing us this beauty. And my thanks also to the Sinfonica de Galicia that always is good.
Ruhe in Frieden, Herr Maazel!

I've listened to over ten symphony orchestras playing this piece and this is by far the best and most bombastic (to Mahler's liking) I have heard. Maazel is just a master and this is quite the talented orchestral group performing this piece.
Eric, I totally agree. Mahler was sent from God to write music!!! Salute!! xo Juancito....
Lorin Maazel in memoriam (1930-2014)
Maazel has left us too soon. May he rest in peace. Amen.
cielo
Lorin Maazel was a big man
RIP Lorin Maazel. How different from when we saw him conducting the NY Philharmonic as a guest in early 1970's.
galicius
He was the resident conductor of the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra. I have heard his conducting many times.
I loved the slow pace of the Finale. Very rare.
Don’t you just love Mahler!!!
L. Kemp Hopefully, Rita is educated📯
YES! Especially with this orchestra!
Beautiful. The ending had that powerful slow tempo that I always wish would happen. Mahler sure spoke well.
56:56
8 horns: **epic soli**
1 trumpety boii: "Nah m8 this shit's mine"
Bruno Vicente that’s what I been hoping someone just screaming
Maazel's handling of the TRIO in the Scherzo (the schmaltzy stuff) and the entire Third Movement was SUPERB in his Vienna (Sony) recording from the '80's; HERE, he gets the orchestra to play with the same expression, color, and idiomatic feel, quite an astounding feat. Bravo to everyone involved. LR
25:46 amazing doublebass solo
Incredible le tempo finale.,amazing!!!!!
BRAVO ORQUESTA SINFÓNICA DE GALICIA !! CON ESTOS PROFESORES Y CON LA DIRECCIÓN DEL MAESTRO HERR MAAZEL. GALICIA ES MUCHO MÁS GRANDE...FELICIDADES !
MAGNIFICA SINFONÍA DE GRAN MALHER ,Y POR SUS COMPOSICIONES CORALES.GRACIAS.AndonY
Maravillosa celestial ,,,,,magnífica,,,,
This is the soundtrack when heaven meets earth !!👏👏👏😍
This is magnificent. I had no idea this piece could sound rich and lush and clear and sparkling all at the same time.
I think this is a great performance of Titan, made me feel like I was back in Poland walking in the forest and listening to cuckoos, folk melodies in a little village and coming home to my Cantor grandfather's Jewish songs and dancing with my friends at the Jewish gathering 🙂 And when bad times make me restless, back at the forest all troubles seem to go away. Life is full of conflicts we struggle with as Mahler did but memories of childhood, music we grew up with and nature make it easier to cope. And triumph prevails

Love love love the timpani roll in the 4th movement .... barrrrump, barrrump, barrrump - let me hear every note like Mahler wanted me to!
very pretty in my mind thanks
refined
This is the piece that made me fall in love with Symphonic Music.
I like how long the beginning remains a delicate opening. I usually get right to the madness in my compositions so this is a good change of energy.
One of the best live recordings of Mahler's 1st ever. But I have to say it's the concert master is the most passionate orchestral violinist I've ever seen. Either that or he's a huge Mahler fan, to say the least.
Paolo
He is always like that...
I was afraid he might poke someone in the ear!!!
MARAVILLOSO
Fantástica perfomance!
Love it so much when the French horns stood up... I cried.

This is a long, leisurely waking up on any given holiday.
Brillante! Magnifico! Bravooo!!!
Beautifully conducted, beautifully performed.
Strength, melody, beauty and what an ending, almost like a pre-echo of the “Hammer blows of Destiny” I’ve known and loved this symphony since I was about 16 but this incredible version is almost like hearing it for the first time. And bravo to the orchestra who were equal to every demand put on them!
Still love this performance--and great camera work, too!
WOW!! I honestly feel as though I have just been in the Divine Presence of God Almighty!! And I know now as never before God's Total LOVING and BENEFICENT and JOYFUL Divine Omnipresence!!!! This is a glimpse of the MAGNIFICANCE that awaits us ALL!!! Embrace Life Completely as we are ALWAYS THUS EMBRACED!! "Lord, it is good for us to be here!"

magnificent performance of a magnificent piece
first time hearing Langsam at university i got hooked on Mahler
No1 speaks to the soul
Sublime ejecución.
Preety and it's mastered so greatly. BRAVO. BRAVO
the tempo at the last movement was very well designed and impressive. so moving.
Magnifique.
Wonderful to find your orchestra here on You Tube.
Anne Marie Boile Good to see you too!
anna maria boile i agree this is supreme joy xx
Bellissimo !!! ❤️
47'27''': I was 'shocked' when the whole orchestra paused, when I was doing homework, listening to this. This made me pause on my homework and watch exactly what happened right at the moment. Really surprising, but pretty reasonable - I don't think a lot of orchestras are doing this. This is definitely new to me.
R.I.P. Lorin 😪😪😪😪
He was so naughty at 4727.
Bellissimo, grazie!!❤
The tempo at the end is magnificent!!! Not rushed or racing like so many!
Magnificent ✨🎆
Very good Lorin Maazel!
UN MAGNIFICO CONCIERTO
Absolutely well balanced play!!! Mahler mounted lots of disparted notes from Oriental motives in his symphonies. So some great conductors complained it and did not play Mahler often. Maazel has made this Giant music in Order - that was the love of Maszel's interpretation. New rising conductor, Klaus Makela, has shown somewhat disorders forward and interpreted Mahler's notes in new details that was also unique and interesting too.
I have to say very, very good ... love the tempos. Far too many conductors rush Mahler's 1st. (Although maybe a bit ponderous in the last French horn refrain).
omg to Trauermarsch. Very impresssive !!
sublime !
Fantastic
