Written by Stevie Wonder and then Aretha sparsed it up and added that great soul and embellished it so well. Gary takes it to another great level. This song is a timeless masterpiece that will channel itself through many more artists for years to come. Great rendition, Gary.
Cool comments from Carolyn s....i agree, i just had to follow Gary to King L and Transister, he now writes for others but I wanna hear his sweet voice..no one like it
Thanks to the way UA-cam throws up suggestions on the right >>>>> you can find Stevie Wonder talking about this song - he co-wrote it. (He wrote the music.) Wonder himself says Aretha Franklin's is the best version but the most amazing thing is Stevie was only 14 or 15 when he wrote it. Legend!
No Comments! How's this... I sit and wait in vain... I'm knockin' on DW's door, tappin' on their window pane.... 'til you get back together and do another concert (in NYC).... Oh, please ... I'm gonna walk by myself until I get through to you and change your view....'til you come back to me... that's what I'm gonna do!!

Aretha’s is soulful and she puts her heart and soul into the lyrics. When she sings, she is telling a story and her emotions can be felt when I listen to her. Aretha’s, being the original version, is the best, in my opinion. In your opinion, what is it that makes Bobby Caldwell’s version the better of the 2?
Totally underrated singer/ songwriter . Just listen to we walk on stormy waters .

BEST VERSION OF THIS SONG IS BY BOBBY CALDWELL THE ARETHA FRANKLIN COMES SECOND.....
Bobby Caldwell's version was EXCELLENT! Just heard it. Thank you.

The best version ever is by Bobby Caldwell.
Good voice and a great tune to cover, but he needs to upgrade his wardrobe. He looks like he just got done parking cars in the lot.
Thumb down!
Found it. Type in "Drumbeat Glasgow 1992 Deacon Blue."
Bottle o wine, enjoy. Bliss❤
