    Sorry the colour is a bit off this video in some parts, apparently my phone wanted to record in HDR and Premiere Pro does not like that, tried correcting as best as possible but it wasn't completely salvageable.
    P.S, I just recently got affiliated with TheKey.Company! Check them out for some nice keycaps, deskmats, and more! thekey.company/discount/ItsHex

    no way that pea size lube you put on the container lubed all the stems

I hope this isn't rude, just pointing out a fact that may or may not be helpful to you. Thanks for producing this content, and I wish you luck in your UA-cam endeavors.

    Thanks for putting this together. This is super useful for a beginner (like myself) who is just getting into the hobby.

    I recently modded my own RK84, but I think I might go back and take the foam and replace it with that tape you used. Thanks!

    It should be emphasized that you should NOT bag-lube your stems unless you’re using linear switches: getting lube on the “bump” of a tactile switch will completely KILL its tactility.

    They must have just recently updated the model. There’s foam on the bottom on mine and some kind of foam stabilization on the spacebar I can’t even get it out. Does anyone know how good the new update is compared to modding it?

    Plastic keyboards sounds less hollow than their aluminum counterparts from unmodded. If anyone wants to get rid of their blue or green switches, I will gladly take them

    I recently got myself a RK84. After a couple days of using it, I noticed the switches somehow feel alot "stiffer" but only when I'm on bluetooth mode. When I switch to either wifi or wired mode the "stiffness" magically went away and my Gateron Yellow pros turn back to their buttery-smooth-selves. Is this a common issue with RK84 or it is just me?

    • @ishan1239
      @ishan1239 Рік тому +1

      You might be noticing the slight bluetooth lag. If that's not it, and you're literally feeling a different sensation on your fingertips, then it's just you.

    • @14howZz
      @14howZz Рік тому

      @@ishan1239 It is not the delay, the stiffness felt something like when you try to separate two magnetic sheet apart, and the faster you type, the stiffer it gets. I have actually tested the board with unlubed switches, and confirmed that this issue only occur with prelubed switches. Next, I will just have to find time to clean the factory lube completely and relube the switches with krytox to see if the issue will be eliminated.

      @@14howZzThen it's all in your mind. They don't magically become stiffer and softer like that. The only difference/variable is connection type.

    Do you pre poke holes for all of the switch pins or just push them right through the foam?

    Cherry profile on a north facing keyboard? That doesn't cause interference?

    can I ask if the RK84 keyboard doesnt ahve issues with cherry profile keycaps?

      it does. its north facing

    • @vicenarycave
      @vicenarycave 5 місяців тому

      It will depending on the switch. If it is a long pole switch there shouldn’t be any interference. If the stem is not a long pole it will have interference

    Are the f11 and f12 volume controls or i still need to press the fn key?

    • @lopesmorrenofim
      @lopesmorrenofim Рік тому

      You do have to press FN first, at least in windows. On Mac, I think it is the other way around.
