The native Americans at the Greensboro NC show he was talking about were incredible and totally unexpected. They played a very calming song with a flute that just silenced the whole place and put everyone in a peaceful spot before the show, and joined in the singing and frantic dancing to hamrer hippyer at the end as well.
I was very very happy they came out on stage and was also in a good state of soul shock having native blood thru the family it gave me a sense of calm thru my soul. And it couldn't have happened at a better time due to losing my mom in June. I had two tickets to the ritual and nobody to take the other ticket.... And when they came out on stage and started performing I knew that ticket was hers. So as they played and danced I got emotional and teared up because I could feel her presence beside me. A performance I'll never forget or want to. Actually can still see and feel it now!!! So beautiful and needed. To hear them before Heilung came out and then see them at the end dancing with everyone was so powerful and amazing. Loved every passing minute of their presence. ❤🔥🐺🐾💯
@@YoungMatt81 I have a lil bit of it recorded from the ritual but it's not the whole thing. I can try to send what I have to you if you'd like. But you might be able to search the Greensboro ritual for it!? I'm sure it's in full somewhere online lol. Everything else is these days.
Heilung came at a time when a lot of people from many cultures needed. Their rituàls bring some emotions that just can't be described. Maybe we don't need to try to describe. Only feel inside. I'm not a dancer, but their rituàls makes me dance, jump up and down, move the body to the sound. D. Frostproof,FL. U.S.
His explanation about sonic driving in shamanic rituals, not being about the aesthetics of the 'music', but that it is supposed to do something to you and bring you to a certain state of mind, totally explains why Heilung has such a profound effect on people. I can't single out one of them and say _oh that's what gives power to this group_ because its really all of them together, but Kai is this incredible driving force and presence on stage and his background goes a long way to explaining the success they're having. And I have to say this is a fantastic interview, I don't think I've ever seen him so laid back. Plus knowing he's a Bathory fan makes me like him even more.
I have nothing but undying respect for Heilung regarding the way they share space with indigenous peoples when they're touring. I caught their ritual in Sydney, Australia back in March and it was a truly defining and life-changing moment for me.
awesome, do you mind writing a little about how was your experience with them, what you felt during and after I am really looking forward to assist to a Heilung concert this 2024, and would apreciate reading about your experience. thanks in advance if you do :)
Just saw the ritual in Clearwater. The amazing thing about the crowd was how easily we slipped from thunderous applause and cheering to absolute silence. 2,800 people absolutely transfixed on what was happening on the stage. There was this unique combination of joy and solemnity that I have never experienced.
This was something I was noticed too. How the audience was able to go silent to take on the ceremonies and rituals and dance and shout when appropriate 🫶🏼
I was there. It was the most amazing experience I have ever had for any type of performance I have ever been to. I was a fan of Heilung before the ritual, but after, I feel like I am more connected to the band and everyone who was in that building experiencing the same thing I was. It was truly a beautiful moment in my life.
Maryland resident here - I could not have been more pleased with my experience of this ritual so close to home to us! I hope Heilung will return to Baltimore in future tours, my children will experience this with me on the next visit! P.S my son and Maria share a birthday!

Was at the Baltimore ritual and it was so amazing! How they opened was some of the most powerful stuff I've ever seen. The staff at the venue were amazing as well. Love to all involved! Please come back to Baltimore, Heilung!
I really, really wanted to see them this year while they were in Clearwater, Fl, but life just did not work out for that to happen. Heilung is my most favorite. I feel like you bring a lost connection to so many and that is special. To be honest I would love to have a tattoo from Kai, by Kai of his own creation, because I know he has knowledge and will see what needs to be set upon my skin. That would be something special and meaningful, but I do understand where life tells you that you are needed elsewhere. Because the music you guys make reaches thousands, and it is a blessing. We love you here in the US and obviously you are needed. I hope you will come back, and I will make sure I will make it to see you if you do.
I saw them last year.. it was the best experience i have ever had.. I love how he answered the "do you really believe in the old norse gods" his answer is exactly how i look at it.
I was lucky enough to finally attend the ritual in New Orleans. Let me say sitting in a seat while tripping and watching this was very hard to do. That being said it was unbelievably beautiful and powerful. Anoana had me in tears.
I know what he is talking about, when he was talking about his favorite place in nature, I lived in Juneau Alaska for a few years when I was in my mid to late teens. I will remember the Glacier, mountains, trees and the sea there for the rest of my life. I still have several Tlingit friends up there, they have a super interesting and amazing culture.
Really great interview guys! I love this band…the spirituality and energy they project is next level. I saw a ritual last year in NC and it was a transcendental experience. Thank you for featuring them!
Thank you so much for watching and the compliment!! We love Heilung too...can't believe we just learned about them just four months ago!! Lots more Heilung coming. ✌🏽
Saw them in Kansas City on Friday basically I became the drum I became the oneness that cannot be named or explained…. Simply cosmic eternal love…. Thank you I will never be the same again…….❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for the interview. I have a special note about Heilung to share between all sisters and brothers : Play the music for your dog or cat or whatever ..... My now deceased cat (RIP Magda) came home after some personal business and when she came in the living room she stopped. Normally she would go to the kitchen but she stopped behind me. I was sitting at the computer and was hearing the CD LIFA with my large music system with good solid Bass speakers. She was totaly mesmerized and frozen. In the next 10 minuttes she was howling like a wolf. Between her howls she was staring up in the ceiling with big opened eyes. When I looked at her she looked back but with empty eyes. Not just empty eyes but as she was in pain. Not pain but rather as she was hit by an invisible energy. This energy got into her bones and I guess that she was 100 pct surprised of the effect of this unknown force ... I will never forget her eyes that day !! Therefore I stopped the music after 10 minutes. After that she NEVER ever reacted to Heilung again ! Ayyyy my Hellblade question made it in!. Thank you brother! I never expected an answer because that game is still on the hush. But i remember joking that Heilung would do great music for Hellblade...and then about a week later it was announced that Heilung was doing music for the OST of Hellblade 2 😮
A friend at work was telling me he was going to this Ritual in Baltimore and told me to check Heilung out. I wish I had discovered them sooner for sure and he told me the Baltimore ritual was absolutely amazing. I will definitely be going to see them when they come back. Thanks for doing this interview!
Thank you Jeremy for such a beautiful interview, and for giving Kai all the time he needed to answer your questions. You have great interview skills. I will be experiencing a ritual in June 2024, I cant wait.
I had the opportunity to witness their first ritual here in Italy in November 2022. At the time I was still suffering from depression that had lasted for years. In that period I felt almost nothing on an emotional level and despite this, once the ritual was over I finally felt alive after a long time of apathy. Now I'm not saying I was healed because of that, but their music and the way it affected me and everyone else that night definitely changed my life. I hope they know that what they are doing is not just music, but something that can truly make a difference in people's lives. Even though Italy is a country known for its Christian roots, Heilung was welcomed with a warmth that I never expected and probably neither did they. I can't wait to see them again, I hope they will return to Italy soon.
I just recently started watching Heilung videos even though i dont have a club what they are sing about because of the language i find this group very entertaining to watch i mean they have an awesome setup with the customs and their instruments i think they pretty cool to watch and listen
Thanks for this interview, when I attended one of their rituals last year in stockholm I felt something that I cannot really explain and it cannot be recreated at other musical shows. I'll have to attend another one at some point whenever they return to sweden.
Great interview, very, very interesting. Really enjoyed it, great questions. The photo's were brilliant too. Saw them a few months ago when I was on holiday overseas. Absolutely mesmerizing.
very nice exchange, very interesting... thank you very much! twice, cancellations due to covid made me miss the last concerts in France, I still have tears in my eyes when I see my tickets in my regret box!!
Love what he says about paradise, we were literally children in giant open and free giving garden in our natural state in nature before we learned what the world could be and offer and became in some sense deceived by what we came to know by the temptation and indulgence for more and more of all such things outside of nature and simple survival
I was at this ritual as well, omfg, speechless. I cried and howled and screamed and made bird sounds, it was truly a needed experience, thank u Heilung. There's so much I want to say about how great it was but it's truly hard to put into words.
@@musikbyjhI hope you didn't take my comment as criticism. I found it rather funny to see Kai handling the microphone without really speaking into it and yet you understand every word crystal clear. Maybe it's because of his shaman power 😉 . By the way, it's a great interview. Thank you for it. I got to see Heilung last year in Frankfurt. The ritual was a real eye and soul opener. I have never experienced anything so powerful (in the truest sense of the word).
@@comodoregoatknuckle6301nah, it’s all good. We made the mistake of telling him it was a “faux” mic because it is a 3D printed body, that fits the wireless DJI mic transmitter (like the one I’m wearing) under the windscreen. So, I’m not sure if he realized that there was actually a mic device in there. So with lots of compression and noise gates/suppressor, I was able to make his mic pretty clean. Next time, we’ll be sure not to tell someone that, and have them thinking it’s not real. lol. All good! Glad you like the interview!! 🤘🏽😎🤘🏽
Just saw them at Red Rocks a week ago. During a full moon no less. It was a great time! Sad that it might be awhile before they come back to the states but I’ll just have to go over seas to see them! I’m not complaining about that! Haha
Dammit, we were there and could have said HI in person!!! We interviewed the opener, Eivør during Heilung's sound check the day of the show. What an AMAZING night, even the little bit of rain, right?! Please stay tuned, we have a VLOG of the experience coming, along with the Eivør interview!!
I’m excited to see what you captured that night and the interview! I’ll be sure to keep an eye out for the video! They are such a great group and your interview style is great as well. Thanks for the content!
Thank you for the compliment!! I got the hoodie from Heilung's Baltimore show in October. I just checked their online merch store and don't see the exact hoodie, which makes me think it was a special "run" for their North American tour. I did find a couple close options on (believe it or not!), Amazon. amzn.to/43AuQEE We are going to another Heilung show next month and will scope out. Hope this helps, @MG-uh2bv!
I missed ur baltimore performance cuz I went to blue ridge instead in September but that was such a shut show and got canceled that I've been fighting to get my refund which still hasn't happend. Cuz I was going to use said refund to see you guys in Baltimore

Awesome, thank you so much!! I can only imagine the performance was epic. ✌🏽
very nice exchange, very interesting... thank you very much!
twice, cancellations due to covid made me miss the last concerts in France, I still have tears in my eyes when I see my tickets in my regret box!!
Love what he says about paradise, we were literally children in giant open and free giving garden in our natural state in nature before we learned what the world could be and offer and became in some sense deceived by what we came to know by the temptation and indulgence for more and more of all such things outside of nature and simple survival
Absolutely love this band! Saw the show in Europe and amazing
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I was at this ritual as well, omfg, speechless. I cried and howled and screamed and made bird sounds, it was truly a needed experience, thank u Heilung. There's so much I want to say about how great it was but it's truly hard to put into words.
the level 99 Bar(d)barian with the level 99 battle cry!
Excelent
Great interview! My brother got to see them last weekend and loved it. Maybe on the next tour for me. ❤️🎶
Thank you so much!! Yes, PLEASE GO!! It's a whole experience...prob one of the best I've ever seen live. Appreciate you watching Rebecca!! ✌🏽
Wonderful and interesting interview. Thank you 🖤
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks so much for the nice compliment.
Great interview, Jeremy!
Thank you so much, Jon!!! Appreciate you watching and the kind comment. ✌🏽
If you ever feel useless, just remember the mic Kai is holding.
Good reminder, thank you!! ✌🏽
🤘🏽😎🤘🏽
When they had the nipmuc open in Worcester I cried
Imagine a collaboration HeilungxWardruna or HeilungxDanheim
AMAZING!!! We were talking about that on the drive home actually, about Wardruna collaborating with Heilung...fingers crossed!!
I hope u come back to colorado ... cuz maybe the stars will align & i can come😢
Omg
I can't wait for Hielung to come back to the UK. Where can I find that hoodie? It looks awesome but I can't find it anywhere.
Cuz I was going to use said refund to see you guys in Baltimore
ugh i missed their Baltimore visit! **sad face**
Come to Red Rocks April 23rd!! Should be epic. 🤘🏽
Kai looks kind of handsome! 🤔😁🥰🤗💖 Skål! 🍻 NO, NO, NO! THEY'RE NOT CALLED "COSTUMES"! THAT'S AN INSULT TO THEM! The clothing they wear is called "regalia"! 🤔😱
if they want an audience with energy they should come to argentina
