Some neat easter eggs from this game in IV is that you CAN actually view most if not ALL of the Chinatown Wars character bios in LCPD Database. Huang, Kenny, Chan, almost everyones are there. Pretty ineteresting & neat stuffs right there
Chinatown Wars has one of the most addicting gameplay loops due to how much you can interact with your environment. The dopamine kick of selling drugs and seeing money pile up without even progressing through the story feels so rewarding. It goes to show that Rockstar can make awesome games despite the hardware limitations if they REALLY wanted to.
For me Chinatown Wars is easly the best handheld GTA game :p It has very focused design, and it's just a great mush-up of every GTA era. And i think rockstar proved how great their writting is - considering there is no acting here, only text, yet these characters are really well written. In my top 3 GTA games, and by far my favourite psp title.
Btw. In terms of how gamey game is, in oppostion to emulating real world, this is the best gta. Every mechanics fits, it has great systems and every one of them works great. In comaprison GTA V for example (my favourite gta) has rather boring combat, even if it's better at world building.
To me this game was like playing the perfect GTA2 I always dreamed of back in the 90s. Like as much as I liked GTA2, I wanted more out of it, seems like Chinatown Wars was that game, a true successor to the series.
This year Im thinking about buying that game on Android platform, I also watched the entire gameplay and i really loved it, can´t wait for buying it, cant believe that gta chw was released 15 yrs ago. time flies
Normally I'm so used to the 3d gta games but with Chinatown wars it definitely was a great game, I remember the coolest thing about it was buying supplies from dealers or ambushing and stealing them from gangs then selling it to another dealer at specific deadlines, it was so addictive you could make tons of money with it
I feel the same way about VCS and the Empire Building system. It makes you care about getting money, spending it wisely (at least for the first 10 empires, after that you should have heaps of money), and you can even customize each of them to your liking. Rockstar should revisit either of these mechanics and implement them in a future title.
@@H0rHe yeah the empire building feature was amazing in vcs especially when you takeover a business from a gang and turn it into a different business, making money was great
It's this game and EFLC that makes me bummed out that Rockstar's plans for a Liberty City expansion for GTA Online fell through. Sure it probably never was developed that much, but the fact that they had that idea in the first place. Man, it just sucks. Either way this game is great and anyone who's beaten GTA 4 and EFLC multiple times should give it a try.
It also has a really nice coop multiplayer and deathmatch where the cops arrive when you cause a lot trouble (if I correctly remember) which makes it only PSP GTA with online coop and police system so you can have fun with your friend rather than shoot at each other for no reason.
I like how to fit interiors and many sound tracks in just 98mb in NDS and the psp version is best because orange wibe from gta iv mobile controls are good and other minigames sucks
There's a way to mod the emulated PSP version of the game to force a 3D camera, it looks really goofy (mostly because of flat NPCs and very short render distance) but you can do it
Advance it's way more underrated. It's the second worst GTA game in sales, following the London DLCs for GTA1, which coincides with how less people talk about it.
When I talked about Advance in an earlier video I mentioned that it's a really good game, but compared to the other ones in the series it's on the lower tier. I do think the game is massively overhated for no reason. Most people's complaints stem from the limitations the game had, but considering the specs of the GBA, I belive the game is very much a technological marvel.
I've made two separate videos on each of those, and I agree they are also very underrated. It also doesn't help that Advance can only be played if emulated nowadays, which a lot of people won't bother to do

They nailed a manga-like approach to cutscenes, I really liked it.

If you wanna play GTA Chinatown Wars play the psp version because it's the only version have exclusive content

Can you still buy it? I thought rockstar removed it from the store

I just can't get into the view mode. I loathe it but I'd play it if it had the traditional Gta view.

Nah I'd never say its underrated just really underplayed. I guarantee a good 60% of people who have played IV haven't played CW
