Carcer City is mentioned in GTA III, before the release of Manhunt on Flash FM, as being "nearby", so probably in the State of Liberty, in the 3D Universe at least.
there was a war in the Gta universe where the americans fought the australians. It's a minor fact but maybe this war is the reason cities changed name between RDR and GTA
"the things I saw in the war cousin ... They were upside down riding giant lizards and birds. They carried kazoos and used spider cannons... Are you fucking asleep roman?!“
I really am sorry for what I'm about to say.. it's truly the number one "erm.. actually☝️🤓" moment in our modern society.. Although, I do have to say it. It wouldn't make sense for this to be a show in Grand Theft Auto 5 because GTA 5, and pretty much every GTA in general have usually comical and comedic commercials and movies. L.A Noir might not be the most serious at times, but I'd say it's more serious and dramatic than something in GTA 5.
midnight club shouldnt be in its own universe for one big reason, the brands, they use real car manufacturers and real clothing brands for those games.
For 3 and LA yeah. But 1 and 2 didn’t, they only featured real locations just with cars that had different names and appearances to their real life counterparts.
My theory is that cities and states simply changed their names at some point in the 20th century, Liberty used to be New York and San Andreas used to be California back when Arthur and John were alive, but later got renamed and became what we see in GTA, with stuff as car plates and turism billboards being simply old stuff that no one ever bothered to change (which fits with the running theme of GTA that the US is actually a pretty run-down country), and then when characters mention California and Florida in GTA, they are simply referring to the old names, which everyone in that world understands actually mean San Andreas and Leonida.
this, or what i kinda think is that Liberty City is a local nickname of the city. Like Chicago is know as the Windy City, they’re synonymous with one another and aren’t separate locations.
Doesn’t make much sense In 4 and 5 the new cars have NY and CA plates, unless they’re collector plates (which they most likely are) I don’t see how the names is able to change in that time period Still an amazing theory
Yes, exactly. That was why I said that Manhunt is in the 3D universe, instead of HD because even though it's mentioned in the HD universe in GTA 4 and 5, locations can cross universe, just not characters, so Carcer City can exist in every universe, but James Earl Cash can't.
There's at least one exception to the character rule. El Burro. He is a mission giver in GTA 1 and 3. Although, since it is different universes, then it's two versions of him, but he is in both.
GTA 3 references Miami, Carcer City, and New York I believe. From there that meant both versions of cities could exist. Red Dead takes place in the HD universe mostly because some assets carry over and references like that book. It would surprise me if we don't have references to Saint Denis in GTA 6 since they are the only 2 active franchises with Rockstar right now.
honestly i just don’t think the writers thought this far ahead lol gta 3 was like a leap of faith for rockstar at the time. i’m pretty sure they did not foresee how big the franchise would eventually get
I think Bully and all games past it exist in the HD universe. (Even though Bully isn't HD but Chinatown wars isn't either) (Except the Max Payne series) There's proof like Bullsworth School existing in GTA 4. Hatman is in both Bully and red dead Redemption. Even Bullsworth symbol existing in Red Dead Redemption 2. LA Noire possibly has a family member of Jack Marston. Someone in a list in a book was a Marston.
MAX PAYNE takes place in the Remedy Universe (Alan Wake, Control…) Carcer City is mentioned in various gta games (3d - hd) RDR/LA NOIRE could be in-game media (Books/TV Shows…)
If you look in the booklet for Manhunt 2 it says that the main character Daniel Lamb graduated from the University of San Fierro in 1985 and there are assets from 3D era gta games found in Manhunt 2 like the Voodoo and the Trashmaster
I genuinely just think at this point they really are in separate universes. I just find the idea of the two cities (Fictional and the Real life) co-existing so dumb that I’ll just pretend that option doesn’t exist and just accept they’re in different universes
I know, it doesn't make much sense until we see exactly what this canon map looks like, but there's too much evidence to support they co-exist with eachother.
My headcanon is that new york and l.a and any other cities look vastly different from the real life ones, and that liberty city and los santos are the cities we know irl. What new york, florida, los angeles, california look like in the hd universe is a mystery
@Splatinum69 well we know that San Andreas is California (and can assume it stills stretches to San Francisco and Las Vegas making it bigger than Cali) and that Florida is in the state of "Leonida" (which is unknown whether it's the same Shape as Florida and stuff)
My explanation that I would give to that would be that the real life names of the locations are only nicknames or simply other names for the same place. Vice City has the other name of Miami, and New York has the other name of Liberty City. Leonida is commonly named Florida, by Niko in one of the Eddie Low missions in GTA IV. Sort of like how we call Chicago the Windy City, sometimes, in real life.
Manhunt and GTA are in same universe. One of the protagonist in Manhunt was born in San Fierro, San Andreas and he returns to the city at the end of the game. Michael De Santa had his first robbery in Carcer City.
It is covered in the start of the video that Rockstar themselves say that background characters/brands and things on the radio can exist between universes, which makes it more likely that references to California or anything outside the GTA universe on the radio or within advertisements etc. could be considered transient and not tied to the actual game universe it exists in.
I don’t really think we should be including LA Noire or force it into fitting in the HD Universe, because that game was just not made by Rockstar at all and them referencing it in GTA 5 just seems like them trying to force it into their multiverse, they have to make an LA Noire 2 with references to San Andreas Liberty City and Leonida to convince me more
I believe Red Dead is in the Grand Theft Auto HD Universe. There are references to California in GTA V and GTA Advance. My headcanon for this is that the names of the states changed recently enough for some old people still remember it and have passed it on to a handful of people.
I don't think the city/state names are changed because it's confirmed in GTA 4 that LC was created in the 1600's or something. But you are right that Red Dead is in the HD universe.
I tried to map the rdr map and gta map and it could be connected, but the scale is way off. As in 5 different states in the state of Louisiana. I’d argue that the storyline is canon, but in the same way Gta San Andreas and V are connected. The events happened since Dutch’s grandson is canon in gta online along with the German family being the grandparents of El Rubio, the book from Jack Marston, and the Bigfoot hunters grandson, but the map and direct events are likely slightly different. Just pretend it’s a movie adaptation of real events. It’s essentially the amount of differences that would be seen if that were the case.
In my personal headcanon, its still two different universes but both the events of the HD universe and RDR happened in the universes. Maybe the names are the only thing different in the universes and the events of the games happened the same.
GTA’s United States is so confusing. If San Andreas coexists with California, i wonder where San Andreas is. It’s an island, but then again Trevor implies that the GTA 5 map is only HALF of san andreas when reaching Paleto Bay during the “I Fought The Law” mission. San Fierro and Las Venturas have been mentioned many times in GTA 5 and 4 so maybe we just can’t see the other half. there are also US maps found throughout GTA 5 that show all 48 states except the islands of San Andreas and Liberty City.
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think it's canon that San Andreas is supposed to be an island. I believe it is only like that for gameplay reasons and is meant to be connected to the mainland. But you are right, I have no idea what this world of GTA looks like exactly, but I hope it's something Rockstar confirms one day...
@@JetroYT Although many players think the characters see the map as an island, if I'm not mistaken in some GTA V or Online mission Lester refers to the western or the northern water mass as a river, implying that there must be other cities near them if not San Fierro or Las Venturas or just the rest of the country
@@JetroYT that makes sense because the area north of bone county looks sliced like a cake and drops off like a cliff to the water except for the area by the airstrip that has a small dock and inlet.
Great video, I've always liked the idea of gta and red dead being in the same universe but I was always put off by the amount of people criticising the idea because of state/city names and stuff like that and I could never really come up with a reasonable explanation but thanks to this video I now have one.
How I simplify it is like this •Manhunt exists within the HD universe as an exception Carcer City is the fictional depiction of Detroit Lionel Starkweather is a renowned Vinewood director and runs the snuff film ring out of his let’s say vacation home in Carcer •Max Payne and L.A. Noire are gritty crime Dramas Michael likes to watch •RDR 1&2 are one novel like Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy and Red Dead Revolver is the loose Spaghetti Western film adaptation like the Dollars Trilogy •Bullworth Academy is a reform within the GTA Universe more than likely located in a mainland area of GTA America •Midnight Club is the GTA universes version of The Fast and Furious franchise •the entire story of Manhunt 2 is actually an overly elaborate conspiracy theory that Ron tells Trevor •Table Tennis was probably just a televised Olympic sporting event Michael fell asleep too one slow day The only thing that wouldn’t be cannon because it exists in the real world as a buck and film would be The Warriors game
5:20 I think I saw this somewhere on this, saying that even though the GTA cities are based on the real cities The real cities actually exist in the same universe as the GTA It's very confusing but it really is true
One thing that really gets me about this is how you can have Claude & John Marston be an ancestor when playing GTA Online. It could be a nice nod but it also adds some doubt to some things being separate
I can answer that 5 seconds into the video: no. If it is, it's because they retroactively made it so. But no, they didnt set out with a plan to do it from the very first R* game.
so we just gonna forget about Red Dead Revolver, and the fact that the protagonist of that game is mentioned by some background characters in RDR? Then again I could be misremembering that last bit
It means the first charather we manage beyond all games from cronologic order, Is red dead Online charather. He is the first managable story charather of them all.
They've been doing this since GTA 1 (It's own theme tune mentions real life police departments despite them having the spoof cities in the game and one rock tune on the Unleashed radio mentions L.A. "Was cruisin' down the freeway with the guys in L.A." Music in GTA 1 was all made in house.) so either names being used interchangeably or the both fake and real places existing, either I can get behind.
I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this but not only was Carcer City referenced in GTA 3 and SA - it was mentioned on LCS too. I played it last year and came across a radio ad where the caller was supposedly from Carcer City.
Only manhunt 1 and 2, bully, and the 3D GTA games share a universe. There’s not really any debate that “all rockstar games” share a universe. Otherwise it would be called Midnight Club: Los Santos, and LS Noire, and Max Payne would take place in Liberty city
I have a great explanation to this. So the top down and 3d era would be canon in the HD universe but, they would be movies/video game media. The top down being arcade games and 3d being movies/shows on the televisions in the HD universe.
Idk but I have a feeling GTA VI is gonna have a bunch of nods and references to previous GTA games and RDR. Which I’m all here for tbh. It might even include Rockstar’s other games as well. I’m super excited about that if it happens.
when you talk about game mechanics between games I.E. la noire when you find the serial number on a gun or the max payne 3 kill cams both being in Red Dead 2 as well as bullet time From max payne being in everything. it kinda makes sense that all these games are connected.
This is good find. Although I’m not too sure if gameplay mechanics can be considered canon. I could be wrong though I’d like to hear other people’s thoughts.
Carcer city is seen in the GTA SA intro too in the flights screen and Max Payne 3 has photos of vehicles from GTA 5 and 4, some of which hadn't came out until a GTAO dlc
The biggest thing is maps, what connects these games are the maps, the red dead game's use fictional names for their states, maps dont line up to exist in the same universe. Manhunt is easy, it take place in the 3D universe, but i think it also implies that manhunt manhunt may exists in the HD universe too. But yeah even before manhunt was made or released, gta 3 refernces carcer city so many times with even a tie into events into manhunt 1, manhunt 2 is 3D too but almost no games reference cottonmouth where it takes place
Midnight Club LA is not part of the GTA universe for a simple reason. Midnight Club uses real cars, GTA uses fictional ones. No car in GTA and Midnight Club are shared between the games, they only have similar counterparts.
Manhunt happened in the 3d universe... Carcer City just happens to exist in the HD universe as a locations as well. I saw a theory somewhere that some version or another of the story's events still take place in the HD Universe. San Andreas doesnt explicitly happen in the HD Universe, but the story could've implicitly happened in the timeline with undetermined changes.
Instead of saying “a wizard did it”, since there are major historical events that happen in the GTA games that never happened IRL, so it’s possible NYC changed their name to Liberty City for some wacky reason
I do have some head. Cannon, things about this universe theory. Like, for example, in the HD univere. The redemption takes place in the past. Grand theft auto takes place in the present and ones like Max Payne and l.a noire Are actually movies in the HD universe. As they were not developed by rockstar but could still technically take place as entertainment
One of my favourite radio stations in GTA SA was WCTR; I remember hearing about Carcer City in a radio programme.I believe it was a programme in which people called and talked to the hosts because I think I remember something in the lines of the host arguing with the caller about Carcer City or asking the caller about it. Nevertheless I remember Carcer City being mentioned in San Andreas.
I wish the 3D GTA universe was linked with the HD universe, and Rockstar had a better relationship with their voice actors, so they can come back for a short cutscene/cameo. Imagine seeing CJ meet franklin, or Niko being in a mission in GTA 6
Red dead Revolver is probably in the 3D universe and maybe similar events happened in the HD universe as Red Harlow is referenced in both Redemption games.
Radios mentioning cities is very dumb tbh, those radio host probably didn’t realize their mistake, rockstar usually lets those hosts do their own thing
Yea could be, but there is still the countless other references to real world locations, and the Miami Billboards, which Rockstar had an opportunity to remove in the definitive edition, but they never did, solidifying that it is supposed to be there.
@@JetroYT sure but rockstar wasn’t really in charge of making the definitive edition, they gave it to another company and I’m sure they probably made mistake, it can’t be possible for two identical locations, that would be weird but I do believe that states might be a thing considering
@@JetroYTexcept Rockstar outsourced the definitive edition to Grove Street Games, a company which before working on GTADE had only worked on mobile games. So i doubt they cared enough to fix a 20 year old mistake.
I’m really hoping GTA 6 makes references to New York, California, Los Angeles, Florida, Miami, Las Vegas, and San Fierro for people to stop arguing bro 😭😭 it would be even better if it straight up mentions places from RDR2, like some random NPC just yapping: “oh yeah my great granddaddy was born in an old town called Saint Denis and he once told me this story of how he robbed a man and he started chasing him and his friends! Can you believe that”
That makes no fucking sense lol I can’t believe someone actually said this, the rdr2 one is bullshit with how they wouldn’t be alive. But the references in gta are just Easter eggs. They are obviously not in the same universe and it’s already been confirmed so no don’t except that to happen
@notBrocker has never confirmed or deny Red Dead and GTA being the same universe, and I’m not here to discus whether both New York or Liberty City, California and San Andreas, Florida and Leonida etc existing in the same world makes sense or not, I’m just here to let you know that that is the truth of the matter, but I guess we’ll just have to wait till GTA 6 comes out to let you know even more And I’m also not saying that GTA and Read are connected, I could give 2 💩 about that, I’m just here to let you know that using that argument of “oh but RDR2 references real life cities and states that in GTA already have their own fictional counterpart” is unvalid Real quick I want to bring up that RDR2 has the Grizzlies which is based off of the real life Rocky Mountains, but that doesn’t mean the Rocky Mountains don’t exist in the Red Dead Universe, because also in RDR2 we can find the Rocky Mountain Bull Elk, with the level of detail of this freaking game, freaking Red Dead Redemption 2, you cannot tell me that that’s just a mistake 💀
Well allow me to complicate things: As you said, the graphics is what allows to separate the universes. I have a fan theory: GTA Definitive Edition allows for the old GTAs to have modern graphics allowing them to be capable of setting foot in the HD universe now.
Also, at some point , Lamar and Franklin mention grove st being a families hood, which ties back to San Andreas . So the hd and 3d universe are a lil more related
Midnight club is definitely not in the same universe as say GTA because they literally feature LA where as GTA has Los Santos. Max Payne 3 featured a part in New York (New Jersey actually but close enough) and I believe LA was also mentioned by Max sometime in the story. LA Noire I also doubt is in the GTA universe, those references to it in GTA 5 could've been a similar story playing out in Los Santos. Also, its very weird to imagine that in the GTA universe real life cities exist along with their counterparts, so we have what is essentially a duplicate of New York, LA, Miami etc along with the real life version? Very strange
I know that it’s weird for there to be 2 cities, I agree. But again, all I’m saying is there is way more evidence to support this being true, than the opposite.
Here's my take on the thing (I have very little about the Midnight Club and Max Payne series, so I'll not include those here): • GTA 2D Universe: no other game • GTA 3D Universe: Manhunt games and Bully (Miami and Vice City both exist) • GTA HD Universe: Red Dead Redemption games (Florida probably has changed its name in the period between 2008 and now; can't comment on California and New York though as I'm not too knowledgeable on the RDR series; Bullworth Academy most likely looks the same in HD universe Bullworth as in 3D universe Bullworth) And also- places with the same name but in different universes aren't the exact same city; it's like New York City in the Spider-Man (video game) universe not exactly having the same layout as New York City in the Prototype universe (and countless other games) So Carcer City in the 3D Universe probably looks nothing like the Carcer City of the HD universe, much like Vice City and Liberty City
I think Rockstar never mentioned that real-life cities aren’t actually in the universe with the in- game counterparts simply because it should be assumed and they didn’t feel like it was necessary to say so. I think posters, license plates, etc that have California, Miami, etc. might just be developers having fun with it because those things mean something to them. Like for instance maybe a California license plate in GTA V is put there with the same numbers that their license plate used to have or something. I save all my old plates every time I move to a new state.
I still dont understand how rockstar says the characters aren’t in the same universe but lazlzo is on the 3d universe radios and is a character in the hd universe
They ONLY make exceptions for radio personalities, like Lazlow. Every main/side character is what they are referring too as being separate to their own universes.
I've always thought that hearing things like New York or California, is just OUR very own universes interpretation of the locations found in the GTA Universe. Kind of like how when we watch movies where the dialogue is English, but the film is set in a different country with a different language that we can't speak. It's just a translation of sort to make it more easily understood without having to learn the language, or in this case learn the new locations.
GTA 3 references manhunt and the corrupt police chief Gary Schafer. Las venturas hasn’t been mentioned in the he universe (at least not from memory), Danny from MH2 went to las venturas university. GTA SA I’m pretty sure references sightings of James earl cash on the radio or I might be mixing that up with another thing. Bully has referenced stark weather films through students talking about it.
I don't see why L.A. Noire can't be connected to Red Dead Redemption's universe. Of course GTA and Manhunt are in the same universe, maybe Bully too. I'm no lore expert but I think California is referenced in RDR, or at least other states like New York. And yeah Rockstar only published L.A Noire, but I think it's fun to imagine this regardless. L.A. Noire and RDR1 are only a generation apart in the timeline.
If the two city canon did exist that would be extremely weird considering how close related they might be, like New York with Liberty city, thats just odd, GTA universes don’t include cities that already have a parody of em like NYC or LA, but other cities around the country might exist
In my opinion, Rockstar initially wanted to keep these universes separate but as time passed they’ve been experimenting with connecting them at least with just easter eggs.
Okay here me out, this video seems to have strong opinions here’s mine, I believe the real world and the Rockstar world ARE 2 universes, Rockstar worlds ARE NOT perfect recreations of the real world… sure, Vice City is BASED ON Miami but that doesn’t mean IT IS Miami, it’s Vice City, BASED ON Miami, NOT ACTUALLY Miami, I remember hearing a theory about their being some sort of flooding or natural disaster, that’s why the GTA worlds are on islands.
Yea it's really weird. Right now there are technically 3 canon versions of Miami. GTA: VC is set in Vice City, Florida as confirmed by Tommy. Miami, Florida as seen by the billboards, and now GTA 6 is Vice City, Leonida. I hope Rockstar addresses this in GTA 6, but they probably won't since they are 2 different universes.
@@TordaiJenoArthurJenci Locations can crossover from universe to universe, just not characters. No main characters will ever be mentioned across universes.
Another thing to note are the geographical differences, while gta has always taken place on island cities. Red dead has always remained surrounded by lands like our own real world. So it seems unlikely they're in the same universe
While i dont necessarily agree on the co existing cities argument, someone mentioned that the real life counterparts like la and ny could be wild different in terms of landmarks, the location, but not vibes. I’m seeing this could be a comparison to newark and nyc, very different cities but close in proximity and vibes
The fact that gta advance takes place in the 3d universe despite it being a 2d game suggests that graphics really don't dictate in which universe these games fall under.
I always thought that the characters mentioning real life locations as opposed to fictional ones was always used an expression of sorts like when Niko sarcastically mentions he's from Florida to Eddie to making it more obvious that they're joking or exaggerating. Doesn't make too much sense for advertisements like the airport billboard but again maybe it's used to place more emphasize and show how great the fictional place is or something along those lines but that's just my theory.
I think there are alternate realities along with the universes. GTA IV also shows Las Venturas from the 3D universe on its TV. Miami could be another reality where Vice City wasn't conceptualized.
in gta sa if you go into the shop that zero owns you can see action figures of piggsy and james earl from manhunt although gta sa is set in 1992 and manhunt is set in 2003 (there are also action figures of lance and tommy from gta vc)
Manhunt really happened, you can find wanted posters for James Earl Cash and Hoods members in the Las Venturas Police department, and Gary Schaffer is mentioned in Gta 3
I think GTA & RDR are in the same universe I’ve heard from other people talk about it. Niko talks about Florida when talking to the serial killer which doesn’t make sense cause in game it would be called Vice City which is weird because GTA 4 ,5 & 6 are in the same universe the HD universe. From my understanding character’s can talk about real like place’s as long as they never go there in game. Same with Arthur talking about California & New York it’s ok cause Arthur never goes to C or NY
I think there is one game you left out of this theory and that's Red Dead Revolver with Red Harlow. I think it's important since numerous characters reference Red Harlow in both Red Dead 1 and 2. We can even find locations in both games that resemble some locations from Revolver. But, even still, I think the answer is quite simple here. Red Dead Revolver is simply a tale. A story that's been told by the people in Red Dead Redemption where Red Harlow is much more of a legend or just a story than he is a real person. Of course, maybe the story of Red Dead Revolver is based on true events since we can find some locations that tie back to Red Dead Revolver roughly, but that's really it. That's what I think Red Dead Revolver is and what it contributes to the timeline. It's just a western story that's been told by people about a gunslinger on a path to seek revenge on the western frontier that may or may not be loosely based on real events.
Unfortunately, the reason it isn't mentioned is because Rockstar confirmed Red Dead Revolver and Undead Nightmares are not considered canon to the Red Dead timeline, and therefore the rest of the timeline.
Max Payne and Midnight Club aren't set in the multiverse, as indicated by the amount of real world locations. Midnight Club has a game set in LA, which doesn't exist in the GTA multiverse. Same for Max Payne, which takes place in New York City. Max Payne was developed by Remedy, not Rockstar, so it should be obvious that Max Payne is in a separate multiverse. Maybe one shared with Alan Wake or some other Remedy titles.
@@JetroYT I feel like that Bully is in HD and not 3D. In GTA IV we can see Bullworth Academy on TV Show, not only that but we can also see the poster of the Sequel 2 Movie, and to find the first Sequel Movie we can find it in theatre in Bully. So Rockstar might confirmed that Bully is in HD and not 3D. If it's true that Bully is in HD Universe, then non-chronologically Bully is the first HD Universe game. I also don't think Max Payne 1 and 2 is in 3D Universe while Max Payne 3 is in HD universe. I feel like Max Payne Trilogy is a standalone game with their own universe and doesn't involved with GTA. I know there's a Hydra picture in Max Payne 3 which was a hint to GTA V having Hydra. I don't really know Max Payne, because I haven't play it. But I may be wrong about Max Payne

I think Bully and all games past it exist in the HD universe. (Even though Bully isn't HD but Chinatown wars isn't either) (Except the Max Payne series)
There's proof like Bullsworth School existing in GTA 4. Hatman is in both Bully and red dead Redemption.
Even Bullsworth symbol existing in Red Dead Redemption 2. LA Noire possibly has a family member of Jack Marston. Someone in a list in a book was a Marston.
MAX PAYNE takes place in the Remedy Universe (Alan Wake, Control…)
Carcer City is mentioned in various gta games (3d - hd)
RDR/LA NOIRE could be in-game media (Books/TV Shows…)
Max Payne, the only series to be part of 2 different gaming universes at the same time.

If you look in the booklet for Manhunt 2 it says that the main character Daniel Lamb graduated from the University of San Fierro in 1985 and there are assets from 3D era gta games found in Manhunt 2 like the Voodoo and the Trashmaster
Carcer City was also mentioned on the gta sa Radio
Yea, Carcer City is mentioned a lot throughout the series. It makes sense for GTA SA tho since they are in the same universe
@@JetroYT im only saying this since you only included the gta 4 & 5 references in the video
@@JetroYT There's too much evidence to support you huff your own farts
5:14 just imagine a GTA with this map...
In GTA 5 there is gang Dialog mentioning the main character in GTA San Andrea's, so this should connect the universes together.
Your videos are honestly put together so well for a relatively small channel. I’m sure we will all be watching you grow in the near future
I appreciate that dude, thank you and I hope your right!
Does this mean Austin Powers Oh behave is in the 2D universe? 😂
LMAO, then Rockstar Ping Pong must be 3D Universe too
😂😂😂😂
there's a theory that El Rubio's Ancestors was the German Family that Arthur and Charles saved during the final mission for Chapter 2
I remember seeing something about this when I was researching. Might be worth a video someday.
I don’t really think we should be including LA Noire or force it into fitting in the HD Universe, because that game was just not made by Rockstar at all and them referencing it in GTA 5 just seems like them trying to force it into their multiverse, they have to make an LA Noire 2 with references to San Andreas Liberty City and Leonida to convince me more
GTA 3 mentions Carcer City too so I don’t see how the manhunt thing is a contradiction
I read forum posts when BULLY came out theorizing that he was a younger James Earl Cash 😂
This ties up a lot of loose ends, great vid.
I like the theory. Glad you enjoyed though, thank you!
Not confusing at all, if you know then you know. Which state is wich.
@@JetroYT that makes sense because the area north of bone county looks sliced like a cake and drops off like a cliff to the water except for the area by the airstrip that has a small dock and inlet.

How I simplify it is like this
•Manhunt exists within the HD universe as an exception Carcer City is the fictional depiction of Detroit Lionel Starkweather is a renowned Vinewood director and runs the snuff film ring out of his let’s say vacation home in Carcer
•Max Payne and L.A. Noire are gritty crime Dramas Michael likes to watch
•RDR 1&2 are one novel like Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy and Red Dead Revolver is the loose Spaghetti Western film adaptation like the Dollars Trilogy
•Bullworth Academy is a reform within the GTA Universe more than likely located in a mainland area of GTA America
•Midnight Club is the GTA universes version of The Fast and Furious franchise
•the entire story of Manhunt 2 is actually an overly elaborate conspiracy theory that Ron tells Trevor
•Table Tennis was probably just a televised Olympic sporting event Michael fell asleep too one slow day
The only thing that wouldn’t be cannon because it exists in the real world as a buck and film would be The Warriors game
A bully character with the Bullworth vest is in a gta4 cutscene, where Niko, Johnny, Playboy X are at Elizabetha's party before a mission
John Marston's hat is in a dumpster in L.A. Noire
@@SemorreButteAlso someone named a Marston was in LA Noire.
5:20 I think I saw this somewhere on this, saying that even though the GTA cities are based on the real cities
The real cities actually exist in the same universe as the GTA
It's very confusing but it really is true
One thing that really gets me about this is how you can have Claude & John Marston be an ancestor when playing GTA Online. It could be a nice nod but it also adds some doubt to some things being separate
I can answer that 5 seconds into the video: no.
If it is, it's because they retroactively made it so.
But no, they didnt set out with a plan to do it from the very first R* game.
so we just gonna forget about Red Dead Revolver, and the fact that the protagonist of that game is mentioned by some background characters in RDR? Then again I could be misremembering that last bit
Red Dead Revolver is confirmed to not be canon to the Red Dead story, same with Undead Nightmares.

One day hopefully lol. I'm glad you liked it though, cheers!
About L.A Noire, there is a cutscene in gta V when Michael watch a movie that looks like L.A. Noire
It means the first charather we manage beyond all games from cronologic order, Is red dead Online charather. He is the first managable story charather of them all.
Red Harlow in Red dead Revolver,It takes place before Rdr 2
They've been doing this since GTA 1 (It's own theme tune mentions real life police departments despite them having the spoof cities in the game and one rock tune on the Unleashed radio mentions L.A. "Was cruisin' down the freeway with the guys in L.A." Music in GTA 1 was all made in house.) so either names being used interchangeably or the both fake and real places existing, either I can get behind.
So funny how we as fans are clamoring to make sense out of something that was meant to be overlooked this entire time
LETS GO!
hi
Appreciate it boss!
didnt expect to see you here
I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this but not only was Carcer City referenced in GTA 3 and SA - it was mentioned on LCS too.
Okay but where do we stand on which universe to place Rockstar Games Presents Table Tennis?
You going places with this Video Style How u only Good 2k Subs its unbeliavble
Thank you for your comments! I'm glad you liked it!
I would love to see Max Payne having a happy life reference of some sort in GTA 6
What about table tennis
It uses the exact same engine as GTA 4 so probably the HD Universe
Rockstar Games is the best ever they know their schedule and how the best things shall goes on.
Facts, Rockstar Games on top.
Rockstar never miss 💯
One of my favourite radio stations in GTA SA was WCTR; I remember hearing about Carcer City in a radio programme.I believe it was a programme in which people called and talked to the hosts because I think I remember something in the lines of the host arguing with the caller about Carcer City or asking the caller about it. Nevertheless I remember Carcer City being mentioned in San Andreas.
Carcer City is also one of the cities on the destinations board at the airport during the first cutscene of San Andreas.
I wish the 3D GTA universe was linked with the HD universe, and Rockstar had a better relationship with their voice actors, so they can come back for a short cutscene/cameo. Imagine seeing CJ meet franklin, or Niko being in a mission in GTA 6
HOW CAN YOU EVEN QUESTION THIS WHEN YOU HAVE THE IMPECCABLE IN DEPTH STORY OF Rockstar Games Presents Table Tennis
You missed The Warriors and Red Dead Revolver.
"The Warriors" is an adaptation of the 1979 film of the same name. It could not exist in the GTA universe.
There is a comercial in Manhunt 2 during the mission Broadcast Interuped about a cowboy show that the protagonist looks a lot like Red Harlow

Can you believe that”
That makes no fucking sense lol
I can’t believe someone actually said this, the rdr2 one is bullshit with how they wouldn’t be alive.
But the references in gta are just Easter eggs.
They are obviously not in the same universe and it’s already been confirmed so no don’t except that to happen
@notBrocker has never confirmed or deny Red Dead and GTA being the same universe, and I’m not here to discus whether both New York or Liberty City, California and San Andreas, Florida and Leonida etc existing in the same world makes sense or not, I’m just here to let you know that that is the truth of the matter, but I guess we’ll just have to wait till GTA 6 comes out to let you know even more
And I’m also not saying that GTA and Read are connected, I could give 2 💩 about that, I’m just here to let you know that using that argument of “oh but RDR2 references real life cities and states that in GTA already have their own fictional counterpart” is unvalid
Real quick I want to bring up that RDR2 has the Grizzlies which is based off of the real life Rocky Mountains, but that doesn’t mean the Rocky Mountains don’t exist in the Red Dead Universe, because also in RDR2 we can find the Rocky Mountain Bull Elk, with the level of detail of this freaking game, freaking Red Dead Redemption 2, you cannot tell me that that’s just a mistake 💀
Well allow me to complicate things:
As you said, the graphics is what allows to separate the universes.
Here's my take on the thing (I have very little about the Midnight Club and Max Payne series, so I'll not include those here):
• GTA 2D Universe: no other game
• GTA 3D Universe: Manhunt games and Bully (Miami and Vice City both exist)
• GTA HD Universe: Red Dead Redemption games (Florida probably has changed its name in the period between 2008 and now; can't comment on California and New York though as I'm not too knowledgeable on the RDR series; Bullworth Academy most likely looks the same in HD universe Bullworth as in 3D universe Bullworth)
And also- places with the same name but in different universes aren't the exact same city; it's like New York City in the Spider-Man (video game) universe not exactly having the same layout as New York City in the Prototype universe (and countless other games)
So Carcer City in the 3D Universe probably looks nothing like the Carcer City of the HD universe, much like Vice City and Liberty City
Really enjoyed the vid, subbed :)
You’re a legend
GTA 3 references manhunt and the corrupt police chief Gary Schafer. Las venturas hasn’t been mentioned in the he universe (at least not from memory), Danny from MH2 went to las venturas university. GTA SA I’m pretty sure references sightings of James earl cash on the radio or I might be mixing that up with another thing. Bully has referenced stark weather films through students talking about it.
Carcer City is first mentioned on GTA III either on Lips 106 or Chatterbox a lady says “In nearby Carcer City”
You deserve more subs
Thank you!
Okay here me out, this video seems to have strong opinions here’s mine, I believe the real world and the Rockstar world ARE 2 universes, Rockstar worlds ARE NOT perfect recreations of the real world… sure, Vice City is BASED ON Miami but that doesn’t mean IT IS Miami, it’s Vice City, BASED ON Miami, NOT ACTUALLY Miami, I remember hearing a theory about their being some sort of flooding or natural disaster, that’s why the GTA worlds are on islands.
yes theres a florida and a leonida in the hd universe
Yea it's really weird. Right now there are technically 3 canon versions of Miami. GTA: VC is set in Vice City, Florida as confirmed by Tommy. Miami, Florida as seen by the billboards, and now GTA 6 is Vice City, Leonida. I hope Rockstar addresses this in GTA 6, but they probably won't since they are 2 different universes.
@@JetroYT they all take place in one universe with multiple cities and ppl of the same name if they were separate universe they couldn't crossover

Carcer was also mentioned in GTA 3 on radio station and the police chief
Another thing to note are the geographical differences, while gta has always taken place on island cities. Red dead has always remained surrounded by lands like our own real world. So it seems unlikely they're in the same universe
8:05 personally I'm more interested in the book next to it "Life In the Hood: Uncircumcised". Why does Franklin have that?
Few examples, Florida is the state for should, Timmy says it directly.
in gta sa if you go into the shop that zero owns you can see action figures of piggsy and james earl from manhunt although gta sa is set in 1992 and manhunt is set in 2003 (there are also action figures of lance and tommy from gta vc)
My perspective is that Midnight Club, Manhunt, and Max Payne are pieces of media within the GTA universe.
Still, I think it would have been nice to have them at least mentioned XD I still don't think they're part of the timeline either.@@JetroYT
Carcer City is also referenced in a GTA San Andreas radio station add as a vacation spot.
also i think midnight club and la noire are in the same universe based off that they have licensed cars and have la
All Max Paynes are in the same universe because in MP3, Max mentions how that *thing* with him and Mona in MP2 was a mistake
It means more than 1 thing. It means they break the 4th Wall to cause conversation to bring more interest to their games.
Manhunt and Bully definitely take place in the 3D universe, not HD.
12:20
But I may be wrong about Max Payne
dont think 3d and hd are separate universes, in a dlc for gta online u do a mission with franklin and lamar to burn a weed plantation, and lamar CLEARLY says that it looked like a famous story that happened in san andreas in 1993 (referring to gta sa mission)@@Dimsky-t8k
