    My shared opinion:
I just finished replacing my son's T-100 cracked screen and I'd like to share a few things that's not discussed here that I ran in to. Great video wish it had sound but was able to make it through OK. The only thing that was different for me than the video is:
    1) If you're watching this, you're probably replacing a cracked screen. If the screen is cracked, it will not remove like it does in the video. The screen in the video is not cracked nor does it have glue on it like mine did. I used a razor blade to remove the glass from the adhesive, one piece at a time. The glass is tempered so the middle stayed together. Once the glass was removed I used a heater and a infrared thermometer to remove the glue from the plastic frame. I kept the surface under 200 degrees Fahrenheit. This process (removing the glass and glue) took about 1 hour). Be patient; it's definitely not as quick as the video shows.
    2) I had the sponges on my Digitizer and 'other' connector. They removed with no problem and I was able to stick them back on.
    3) My replacement glass came with a roll of adhesive 2 sided strips. The video does not show placing this on the frame before placing the glass in the frame. You should not skip this step; hopefully your replacement glass comes with the strips.
Everything else was like clockwork, great video and my screen works like new. My only complaint about this problem and NOT the video is why don't they sell the frame with the glass??? I would have paid double to get the frame to save that hour of time. The frame can not be too expensive; its just plastic with the female screw holes.

Brad Knight do you know what width the adhesive was? 5mm 10mm? I cant seem to find in the US a replacement screen that comes with the adhesive and will need to buy separately.

A thousand thank yous! Your video demo was so helpful. I was terrified to try this - and it took me ages, but following your lead, and replaying parts over and over, I've replaced my smashed touchscreen! When I put it all back together I panicked as it didn't seem to work other than a backlight, though I could hear Windows booting up. Anyway, I left it charging up, went to make a cuppa, and when I came up, there was the login screen! It's working!!! The touchscreen works beautifully, as does the touchpad - everything. It's AMAZING and I'm so chuffed to have done it. Thank you for your time and generous help.

I enjoyed changing out the first one of these for a friend. Realized when I took it all apart the first time, you don't have to do a full teardown to change the digitizer. You just have to heat the edges of the glass, use a guitar pick and go around it and it will pop off, pop off the back once digitizer is loose and unclip ribbon cable. clean up adhesive area, lay new tape, slide ribbon through opening on bezel, press down and make sure it's flush. put ribbon back into socket and clip down. Done. Doesn't take me more than 15 mins to change one now. I love how easy Asus made it :)

As was mentioned earlier, there is no need in removing screws, etc. You just need to remove the glass in this order: 1) Remove back 2) disconnect battery and digitizer (glass) connectors 3) flip it over and heat heat the glass edges starting with a corner (my heat gun was set to 200 degrees) until you can pry it up a bit - enough to fit a guitar pick under. Now just (slowly) work it around the edge using heat, leaving a pick every so often to keep it unstuck ending with the corner with the ribbon cable which (will pull right through the slot when done). If you were careful, the tape will still be intact and you can go about reassembly.

THANK YOU SOO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!! I broke my screen and didn't know where to take it to get it fixed. NOW, I fixed it all by myself with this video. though it might have taken me a little longer, I did it! oh P.S. using a hair dryer on high will detach the screen from the plastic thing. I concentrated the heat little by little and BOOM! it worked!
    again, thank you!!!!

Great video. I am folowing this to repair my daughters T100 and would like to share these few ideas:
    1) Make a rough sketch of the motherboard and mark the screw positions before removing any of them. Then mark each location with S, M, L as the screws come in 3 different sizes.
    2) Cover the broken digitizer with sticky tape to prevent splinters
    3) Having read about several people who destroyed their besel with heat guns, I decided on a different approach. I left digitizer/besel in the oven at 60 C for approximately 1 hour. Then it was reasonably simple to detach the 2 parts (3 sides came of with little effort, but I had to work harder on the 4th side).
Next step is to order a new digitizer from ebay...

I would just say that the screen didn't come away from the frame easily at all! cracked the old one to pieces getting it off (and melted the corner of my frame with the heat gun... ooops)

Make sure to TAPE UP all the screen area so when you crack it open, the screen won't shatter.
There were different sizes of screws. I used a permanent marker to mark on all small screw sockets, so I could be sure to put small screws back in.
I also used my hairdryer to melt the glue. You need to be patient and work one small edge at a time. It worked beautifully.

I followed your instructions, repaired my son's T100TA last night. Your guide was very helpful, I would not have attempted the repair myself without it. The only really tricky part was separating the glass frame from the glass and saving the sticky tape. I do not think I used enough heat initially. Bit of a panic when it did not restart immediately - but after it went through its boot process it recovered fully.
Got my parts from ebay - "gadgetfix"

Thanks to this video and a part ordered from Amazon.com I was able to repair my sons ASUS T100 screen... which I broke while replacing the batteries. Doh! Anyway, couple of notes:
    1. The screws are different, and it isn't obvious in the video but the person who made the video apparently knows which is which. I just set each screw down in a pattern matching where it came out of the machine as I removed them. That way, each screw goes back in exactly the same hole it came out of.
    2. Getting the old, cracked screen out of the plastic bezel was a nightmare. I tried a heat gun, I tried baking it. In the end, I just mechanically removed it with two blades and a lot of cursing. Then I very carefully checked the adhesive to make sure there weren't any shards of broken glass in it. If you can find a bezel at anything like a reasonable price, I would strongly recommend ordering it.
    3. Don't use anything metal when pulling out the battery connector. And don't pull it out by the wires the way they do in the video. Use a fingernail or a sharp bit of plastic. Ask me how I know. Doh!
    4. Don't forget to peel off the protective plastic film on the inside of the touchscreen. That isn't shown in the video.

I just did this and was successful!
    My tips:
    1. TAKE YOUR TIME!! Watch the video full screen right through to the end at least once before starting.
    2. CLEAN WORK SURFACES (no dust)
    3. Place a piece of A4 paper on the table, and place each removed screw relative to the position on the tablet - this makes it a lot easier to know which screw goes where when you put it back together.
    4. If you can get a replacement digitiser panel with bezel, please do (someone posted a link in the comments below) The removal of the digitiser from the bezel, though not impossible, is the trickiest part.
    5. If you want to remove the bezel , set an oven to 100 deg C and place digiitiser/bezel on a baking paper lined baking tray. After about 10-15 minutes I found the glue tacky enough to easily pry apart the broken panel from the bezel. Go easy as you don't want glass everywhere. I replaced the digitiser when the glue was still warm.
    6. TAKE YOUR TIME!
    7. Remove any protective film off the LCD screen side (non touch side) of the new digitiser panel.
    8. Don't use excessive force at any point during assembly - you don't want to crack your new screen. Make sure everything is done on a flat surface.
    9. If things aren't working when you put it all together, most likely you have not rewired the touch panel, LCD screen or sound connectors properly. Please be extra careful during these last steps to ensure you have reconnected everything.
    Good luck!

I bought a few days the same T100, replacement screen was included,I didn't go this way, more cumbersome to me, I lifted the screen by using a snap off knife 1) wear safety glasses one piece of shrapnel flew a few mm near my eyes.2) use a hairdryer to get the glue softer and you can pull the screen off. 3)Removing the glue was a pain in the ass, cleansed it afterwards with white spirit. 4) Removing backcover start where the hinges and connector goes to. Use a guitar pick. Putting the back cover back first put the upperclick it to plase and then the sides and as last the bottom. It took me some 2 hours, mainly because removing the old glue was a pain the back.

Worked great. A very fiddly job. dont do it with a beer, go slow. I kept all the screws in bottle caps--you can tell when a short screw is needed--for shallow depth--like when there is only a thin piece of metal over the threaded screw hole.
The replacement screens come with plastic protective covers--leave them on as long as possible. Try to keep the screen and digitizer very very clean--any specks will show up every time you look at the screen. Also use digitizer tape (2mm) to seal the screen and digitizer--you will see it on the original screen. Cut to fit and lift the protective plastic only enough to put the tape on.
To separate the screen from the bezel (frame) heat it with a heat gun of hair dryer until it is quite hot to the touch.
To separate the back of the tablet from the screen part, start at the bottom where the ports are and you can find a place to start prying it apart. When snapping it back together be sure the micro SD card is out--it will keep you from snapping the cover on.
The ribbon connectors are crucial. Watch very carefully how they are released. They must go back into slots below the clasps. and have to be in up to the line on the back of the connector. Be gentle with the clasps--they are quite fragile. A small piece of foam tape over them helps protect them and seems to be present on later models.
When booting it up for the first time the computer seems to take a while to figure out what's going on. Also if you forget to take off the protective plastic screen, don't be surprised if the touch screen doesnt work ;)

Thanks for all the info... got mine fixed today... actually typing on it now to write this... the inside was a bit different, I think I got a refurbished one that was boxed as new cuz there was sponge stickers over the MB and digitizer cables.... and when I peeled them off one was cracked with a piece missing on both the power and the MB connection.... and the peace was nowhere to be found, if I broke it it would have been stuck to the sticker... weird and it kind of pisses me off, I paid full price for this damn thing... either way it was broke in the factory and not replaced... anyway it works nice now... thanks for the vid... I got to fix its cousin model the Vivotab RT but that one has the LCD stuck to the digitizer and I didn't find out till I tried to peel it and it ripped apart... got to buy them together... but at lest it will be easier to fix since its one piece... just more expensive... I would make a vid on that one but its already apart in my closet....

I had a sponge too, and when trying to peel it off I have snapped off part of one of the white levers. I don't think mine was refurbished or something, just a different batch/revision that the later ones (which also have different digitizer cables, mine is orange, I guess yours too? Did you replace it with an identical one, or different looking work equally well?).

Curious, I've gotten my replacement digitizer and have the machine apart. What temp setting was used with the heat gun? From the video it does not appear that you went all the way around the bezel with the heat and started separating the two parts from the side that didn't get heat. The machine belongs to my employer and I'd rather not knacker it by using too much heat.

Great video, although my screen is not cracked, I was wondering if anyone had had an issue with screen flickering and glitching? My device works, but it flickers while I use it and I notice little pixels everywhere on the screen. Also apps will lag the picture behind when I drag the app window around the screen either with my finger or mouse. Flickering also occurs right at boot when it shows the Windows 8.1 tiles; they flicker and move very oddly.

Does the two digitizer strips (bottom right according to your video) sit on top of their connections, or do they slide underneath? My laptop won't turn on (the white light just flickers) after putting back together and i'm trying to figure out why. Any help appreciated, thanks.

omg i just changed the screen by myself
with a magical touch of my husbands hand who s an electrician and flipped a white flex up. and it worked.
So , here s my story.
My screen broke, and I am so dependent on my tablet that I could nt wait to go to a repair centre . I searched on amazon a screen replacement, I bought the cheapest one.
The order arrived, I opened the package and I found the new screen.
I unpacked and I found the screen and few screwdrivers and something like a guitar pick.
I used this video to see what I have to do.
    Few mistakes I made.
I rushed because I wanted everything done, and my tablet to be functional again.. Especially with the adhesive . Now the frame looks suspicious but is functional.
I was nt very very careful with the pins.
I did nt put everything in the same place, order , layer. I changed some layers and then it worked.
I used my hair dryer for the adhesive.
I bought 3mm adhesive for phone repair.
    Aaand I kept the sponge.
I am all sweaty, but the effort is worth the money and the wait.
    Things I don t like.
the lower part has like shadows and highlights .
And is possible if you don t close the case well, to have ghost touchezzzzz.
    Good luck.

I will hopefully save somebody the problems I had with this. First, it is accurate but what this video can't tell you (because there is no audio) is that all of the screws are NOT the same length. The way they were put in a pile suggests that they are. Second, if you have never used a heat gun (I have not) be very careful. I warped the bezel taking it off. Mine did not pop off like the one in this video. I swear it was put on with Gorilla Glue. I applied too much heat and now its useless. That part is not sold, so you have to try to find a used one or a not-working T100 and remove it from that. Be very. very careful (and patient) when separating the pieces.

It looks like you can but why risk cracking the LED? total time is 17 min here this book costs $500 bucks take the extra 20 out of your life and do it right... I will be doing this soon I broke mine and thought that the Digitizer was glued to the LED and was waiting for a cheaper set now I see that its just lightly glued to the frame I am all over this!!!

I attempted replacement of the cracked digitizer on my Asus t100 - my mistake was that I melted the bezel because I used a heat gun on the high setting for too long. So the plastic bezel deformed a bit and I can't get the new digitizer to sit singly so the side bottoms don't work and there is a gap between bezel and digitizer in some areas. I have looked all over, waited and looked again - but no one is selling bezels from what I can see. Do you know of anywhere I can buy a new bezel?

Use double sided tape and reheat the bezel, just keep an eye on it or use super glue only in the raised areas.....and sit some weight on it.
