- In this video we will show you how easy it could be to repair the touchscreen from an Asus Transformer Tablet in few short steps.
1.Step
Separate the bottomcase from the tablet. It has clips and so it is easy for you to separate it. After that please take off the flex cable of the battery and also from the touc screen. Keep care that you don't damage the cables.
2.Step
With hot air you can separate the touch glass from the tablet. You have to know that the optimal temperature of hot air should not surpass 110° (approximately 230 °F).
It would be practical for you to use cheque card while you separate the touch from the tablet because the touch could stick against wit the tablet.
3.Step
At this step you should affix the touch glass correctly. Please make sure that the interior is sufficiently cleaned. Take also notice that the flex cables are affixed. Now you can set the battery in the tablet. Beforehand you should make assurance that the battery is sufficiently loaded.
4.Step
If you are sure that all steps are at your satisfaction than you can fnish the close of your tablet and use it as usually.
1.Schritt:
Many thanks, it was only after watching this that I had the courage to try the repair (it went just as you have depicted it in the video)
Followed your steps and fixed my T100TA for $22 (eBay). Thank you! Hardest part was getting the old screen off. I think I just needed more heat to melt the adhesive better...
Awesome. Pretty clear video.
I had issues with removing the back cover. Looking at other videos, it seemed that the key was to wedge a metal tool between the glass and bezel. WRONG!
For others having issues, it's really pretty simple.
Look at the bottom of the unit where the metal keyboard slots are.
You'll notice how the plastic back cover molds around the slots.
Insert a guitar pic/tool in the gap between the metal slot and the front screen.
Slide the tool to the edge. You will hear a click/pop indicating the clip has disengaged.
Then, just slide the tool all the way around, between the bezel and back cover until all the clips are disengaged.
I highly recommend nitrile/cloth type gloves the poster is wearing. (LOWES)
I took my right glove off and ended up cutting myself with the cracked screen somehow. Bandaid, antibiotic ointment, safety goggles, and glove back on before I was able to continue.
The screen ended up cracking a lot on the bottom...little itty bits, so goggles and gloves are HIGHLY recommended.
Thank you very much - the video was most helpful! Everything worked just like you've depicted it, except that my replacement glass had an additional protection layer on the inside that had to be pulled off. Thanks again!
Thank you so much, it's easier to do than it looks.
Thanks for the tutorial...!WARNING! turn off sound you will break your screen again if you don't.
Thank you very much. This really helped me.
Perfect!!! Thank you!!!
thank you very much.found your video very helpful
Look good thanks
Also, be sure to have cleaning cloth and solution/alcohol available.
A little of the tape residue ended up on my LCD.
The cloth is also helpful to remove dust specks from the LCD before new screen installation.
nice thank you...
Great video. Wife just broke her ausu t100. But one suggestion the person operating the camera should of asked when to move the camera and when to zoom in. It was a little difficult to follow.
I don't have the time or resources to do this myself (plus I'm super clumsy). Any cheap options I can look into?
@Jessika Hoover
You can order the parts online from ebay or amazon and if you cant assemble it yourself go to any tech repair shop and they will do it for you for a small fee
Hi! I had also asus tx201la. My glass was broken also..in this case did it affect also the that the tablet won't turn on?mine is not. I keep on charging but the charging indicator is always in orange color. Please give me any idea about this. Thanks
If I buy a touch panel of T100 is it compatible with my Asus transformer t101ha ??
Hi man. Good video. Can you upload a video to disarm asus T100HA?
hi thanks for your video...
i need to ask you if you have the all ekt file for tf300t....i can found only the 48.20...
i need in particular the ekt file for g03 digitizer
many thanks
your a guru lol thanks but where can i find the glass digitizer for the asus tx201la
My touch screen with golden cable (ASUS Transformer Book T100TA 10.1"). Can I use touch screen with black cable?
So if you're digitizer is broken you don't have to remove the bezel and screws to replace it?
Nope.
Very nice !
Thank you . I have asus t101ha broken touch screen. Is it separate from the display screen?
Yeah, it's two parts. The digitizer/touch screen (the black framed clear panel you see him remove and change) and then the lcd that sits underneath. Much cheaper to only have to replace a digitizer, as opposed to that + lcd.
I always wonder how you get the glass off and leave the adhesive. I never have such luck..
does anyone know if we can use the same bezel for asus t100 and asus tf300?
thank u
Hi Hello, do you have video on how to diassemble the Tab of Asus TX201L? Thank you
Hi!we have the same query..as of now do you have any update on how to disassemble the tx201la?or how was your unit now did it fix already?please let me know.thanks
I recently cracked my ASUS T100 digitizer . I got my replacement digitizer already, and I also got the old glass off. The only thing I need to do is get the new digitizer connected. However, when I tried it, it will not respond. Either the new digitizer is faulty or it could be something else. I do remember leaving the computer on while trying to melt the glue from the old digitizer. I read something about the fuse connection getting burned if you leave the power on while the digitizer is unplugged. Do you think that's what might have happened? Is there anything else that could have happened? How would I go about fixing this?
+etraise2 Exactly the same boat - replaced screen, meticulously, but when completed (and ensured the connector is fully seated and locked), everything works except touch -_- Also, before replacing it, the cracked screen didn't respond to touch, either; though most phones/tables I've used still worked when the touch glass was cracked... By chance, what replacement screen did you get? Did it come in a box saying "Dig Repair" on the top?
You need to order correct part, look on digitizer cable there is pat number which ends with G01 or similar. The ending 3 characters must match for it to work properly.
Yesterday changed touchscreen and all works, like OEM. Only issue that it didn't come with glue so it is not flush and I had trouble to clean off dirt from LCD. Next time I would use gloves and buy "Swellder Sticker Double Side Adhesive Glue Tape for Repair Touch Screen Digitizer".
Also important is to disconnect battery or set microswitch on side to [off] position before disconnecting touchscreen otherwise the digitizer fuse can blow and it won't work afterwards without resoldering the fuse.
Others have mentioned a fuse as well. Not only doesn't that make sense, but if the touchscreen controller had a fuse, it wouldn't be enumerated in Device Manager either... right? I searched high and low on mine, couldn't find anything resembling a fuse (marked or otherwise) on the board, even testing various components that may be a fuse - nothing.
Also, the part number of the replacement exactly matches the original OEM part. However, they are obviously different; the traces running through the ribbon cable are slightly different (though they appear to serve the same points).
I also have a Nexus 7 (2013) tablet with the same style of touchscreen connector, and itself is riddled with touchscreen gremlins. Seems Asus just has a god awful design for touchscreens. On one tablet, a "Dig Repair" replacement worked fine, and on another identical tablet, the same exact replacement provides a completely unusable touchscreen (doesn't detect 75% of the screen).
Matt Falcon First was the power switch still on and the battery plugged in when you detached the original screen?
This could have caused a small surge and blown out a micro fuse or some micro electronic piece. Its located near the digitizer cable. You would see a small scorch mark there. You will have to run a jumper to get it to work. Just bypass it with solder.
Second you could have the wrong digitizer. There are several models. Make sure the part number matches the old one.
Third. the cable could still not be in all the way. check this first. It shouldnt need any type of software upgrade or update to work.
Please , I need help : ¿ Where is located the hard disk in a Notebook Asus T100 ? Cant find nothing ... Cant believe this problem ...¿ You know about the location of the SSD disk ? Th anks for your video , easy and clear . Bernardo

I don't even know where to get a new screen. And what is the tool being used? I am freaking clueless.
+Jessika Hoover eBay. Heat gun, but you can use a blow-drier.
I was so confused when the notification for this comment popped up bc my son's name is Dmitrius and his last name starts with a C.
***** Let him fix it then. I vouch for him! ;)
+MrDmitryC He's 2 months old haha
***** I stand by my words! A 2-month old can totally do it! (in a few years) ;)
I have transformer book T100-TAR. it looks nothing like that.
ummm I couldn't see what you did with the Led panel after you connected the battery.....now the white light is always on and can't press power button
ich hab nur einen normalen föhn wie soll man das dann daheim machen??????
Doesnt show how to take the back off. How do you take the back off????
Use a guitar pick or prying tool on any of the corners. Has maybe 10-12 little poppers round the edge that just snap together.
Complimenti !!!!! Ho comperato la batteria asus per tablet trasformers ,non riesco a levare la vecchia batteria,mi spieghi come fare ??? Ti ringrazio e Buone Feste.
