I watch each and every video you post on your channel no matter the content. I have fallen in love with the whole family. I feel like one of the family and I anxiously await each new video ! I wish I lived closer to your farm so I could volunteer to do small chores with you. I am from East TN - I’m 73 and I lost my husband to cancer last year - watching your family’s trials and tribulations has kept me going. Love you all and look forward to the next video. I always keep everyone of you in my prayers.
Angie, same here. I feel like I'm watching the Grandkids I'll likely never see. Millennials don't seem interested in having kids 😢. Justin and the " lovely one " brighten my days with my favorite Family 💕. After watching you, I learned about Permaculture; watched Joel, Jess and tons of others. I then sold my condo in Miami Beach in 2023 and moved to DeLand, Florida where I'm growing fruit trees and veggies and flowers for the first time in my life . Thank you for giving my 64 year old life, new meaning. Thank you for offering your Family as an example of a loving family leading honest happy lives, providing for yourselves through hard work. Keep moving forward 🎉 Michele ❣️
I love the way that you allow your children to participate and train them to do what needs to be done in a fun way way to go! They now know what needs to happen What should happen and the safe way to do it I wish there were more parents like you
The family Allstars for 2023 have to be Josiah and Gideon. When Jonah had his accident Josiah stepped up BIG TIME! Rarely being asked to do things as he was already doing them. This quiet, contemplative young man went from being a farm boy doing his chores, to quietly picking up all the slack. Gideon too went from playing and complaining less to helping, even at times he was never asked to. Gideon also kept his baby brother safe and entertained many times, also becoming a good example for him.
Justin, you and your family have come a long.......ways. Much appreciated this documentary of a day in a life of a homesteader. We're not as big, but have about 6 acres. Just have some chickens, Guinea fowls, pheasants, fruits and produce.
The biggest thing I noticed this Rhodes year was how much Mr Brown has matured in his work ethic👏👏👏👏👏Merry Christmas to all from Tasmania, Australia 🎅🌲
I am here after finding you guys coverage of hurricane Helene, boy have you been through it. Your spirit and family is amazing. Such an example for each of us to learn from. i wish you a prosperous and happy life moving forward. We are neighbors here in the great state of North Carolina!
Wonderful video, having followed along sat an cried prayed each time Jonah had surgery. Feel so sad for the Beautiful Ones feeling defeated...she does such a great job keeping healthy foods for the family. The Amazing progress and change at the farm. An that house plan is out of this world! Rebecca's dream kitchen will come to life, so happy for her. Lillian horse is so beautiful as well. Henry is growing up! Mr. Brown working so hard with his brothers. However the most wonderful is Josiah, his low key disposition, thinking man of little spoken words has just blossomed. Stepping up caring for family, farm as well caring for the animals. Rhodes ENTERPRISES CEO, for sure. Rhodes Family may each an everyone of you have a Wonderful Christmas, a very blessed New Year! Can't wait to see all the wonderful things 2024 shall bring! Much Respect and Love Michelle White Greensboro, NC
I love hearing you say “if the creek don’t rise”!!! I say that and no one knows what I am talking about. My family who lived in Marion, NC which a very small town when my Mother was growing up and my Grandfather was a Judge which at that time their weren’t many lawyers so he had to go and hold court in all those small mountain towns. When it rained those Creek would Rise and the roads were mud. Therefore, we used that saying often.
Pig port.❤👏👏👏👏👏👍 Lets see how it holds up through the winter & their weight. 2 🐖🐖.. Good luck on all the old & new endeavors Rhodes Family.. ❤️🙏🙋🏼♀️🐈🐕🌟🎄
It's August 2024 can't wait to watch all the videos I've missed since 2021 after my husband passed. I sort of lost it for a while. Lost my excitement for the happiness in others lives. But glad you tube connected us again.
Justin great year’s end compilation ♥️ GBUA🙏🏼💯 Family is the most important always❤️ Have a Merry Christmas Love you Guys Ty for sharing Keep it moving & shaking😃 👏👏👏♥️♥️♥️✌️🦋
Greetings from Northeast Ohio. What a lovely video. I watched everyone of these videos as they came out. I’ve been watching since Mr. Brown was a little guy on your back.
every family should work together so awesomely ! What a brave boy to get a hip replacement and be positive about it. Good job family working together and getting the job done to help the farm animals.
Thank you for making this. It was nice to see it all combined together. Some rough times but you came through it even stronger. It has been neat watching your family grow. Hugs and blessings always.
What a great recap of such an eventful year. This is one that you will be glad is in your history. It's amazing how much your kiddos grew just within that time frame. May 2024 be a better year with fewer if no injuries, illness and such. I'm sure you are anxious to get back into your New and Impressive Hollar House. God Bless!!
You are so inspriing! I've been watching since 2016 and I am still being inspired by you and your family! Thank you. You were the one that got me to "just grow" As your Grandma would say, thank you, thank you, thank you! I think this year was the year all of the kids have grown the most. You are blessed. Merry Christmas to all.
Look how much Josiah grew this year!! He went from a little boy to nearly a man this year! So handsome! You should take those boys to an experienced barber and get them real mullets! They would look so handsome with someone who knows how to do them right!! I'm so badly wanting to send them a gift certificate or something so they can get them done properly! I was so disappointed for them when they had them done!!
Thank you Justin, you are a caring father and husband. I recommend watching "Sow the Land" and "Living Traditions Homestead" channels for their awesome care of animals. Lots of space to enjoy life and be very happy animals, a good reminder that animals have feelings too. Stressed animals will get sick and crowded animals will get in trouble. Nothing wrong to give the best life to animals before they are harvested. God has blessed you, to Him be given all the thanks for giving you health, and wealth to live the homestead life. We can all learn from others how to give the best care to our animals.
Fantastic compilation! As a viewer who cares, can you please take a chainsaw class?? Some foresters offer classes on different cutting techniques and felling techniques according to various situations and this knowledge is LIFE SAVING. Watching you fell those two locusts in the woods, especially the second, caused my heart to go into my throat because of the danger. PLEASE enroll your boys and yourself in a class on proper felling techniques, y'all are too valuable to risk being hurt again. A back cut releases tension on a tree AND controls the direction it drops. This can be the difference between a successful harvest and a serious injury. Sincerely, a concerned viewer
Lovely flowing organized production. Thank you. Family working hard to mutual goals. Effective training video. Appreciate you and all of your work teaching us how to produce!!!!!
Hey Justin and all Rhodes on the channel, Wow, the first thing I noticed is how much the kids have all grown and matured in the last year. Just in the 1st 10 minutes from the beginning of the year to the last video before this video, and the changes are amazing to see.
Thank you to you and your family. I have been watching for over 4 years. I feel like I have been on a journey with you guys all your accomplishments and struggles. Merry Christmas
hi i have been watching your farm life episodes when your children was small ....now that im watching again when they grow big its a blessing ...such a hard working couple especially for the past years until now am watching from fiji cause i love farm life .i jst want to say that in here when a child has a dislocation of bones or hurt from falling we have our uncle he fixes people with dislocation problems n crooket legs n they able to walk normal again .thank you for your videos n have a blessed family farm life n may the almighty GOD heal your son.
Ya'll give me life everytime I watch! Thank your for being such inspiration to us all whose sneering the call. Sending prayers and love from desert mountain Arizona! Praying you all much prosperity, joy and peace of mind body, superior, soul and generations in abundance. #Amin 🤲🏿❤🙏🏿❤🤲🏿❤❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
A very good (year in review) video. Good to know Jonah is healed, both older boys are becoming accomplished machine operators, Lilly's new horse, (you go Lilly, nothing wrong with a horse), Gideon maturing, Henry interested in everything, all looks good. Family life. Justin and Rebecca, good job.😂
I’m so glad that you did this video because even though I watch every video it really puts it all together and demonstrates how much you have to be thankful for and what you have overcome. You guys really feel like my family. I lived in NC for most of my 55 years and now I’ve just over the VA line since 2015 near the Martinsville Speedway so I’m not that far away and everything there seems pretty relevant to my homestead. ❤
Amazing review😘‼️ What a blessing you have gotten those work machines and Jonah & Josiah have learned how to use them❤ Who knew how strategic that would be for 2024 and the storm you all experienced! Such a valuable lesson on being prepared‼️Thank you all for such inspiring content-always💗.
Thank you I learned so much In Permaculture + I'm into my 2nd year helping with the big animals I have a physical mentor but your mentorship helped me too Happy holidays much love xoxox
Trotters- add some of your veg from your beautiful garden. Onion, bell peppers, celery, chopped - whatever seasonings your condition allows, chicken broth. Cook in slow cooker until tender - up to 3 hours or more.
YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING !!! WITH ALL THE DIFICULTIES THAT CAME ALONG YOUR WAY, YOU STILL ACHIEVED SO MUCH INDIVIDUALY AND AS A FAMILY. It is a lot of work but you did it. IT IS WORTHY !!!
I really appreciate you and your family sharing your lives with us. I feel all the pains and happiness you bring us in the videos. I hope and pray for a better year in 2024 for everyone.
Amazing videos, have been watching for years. Getting ready to retire from the military in the next 18 months. We've been working a piece of property in Kentucky for several years as time allowed. Our last move will have us living and building on the farm while I go my last 18 months. I want to be totally self-sufficient in three years. Keep up the good work.
Y'all have weathered many storms and I'm sure there will be more but you have proven that love, patience, discipline, and hard work grow the good life! P.S. I still hold my breath sometimes when I watch your show but when I exhale, I feel even more alive! God bless you, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!
I am amazed at the way you are all handling Jonah’s challenges! Kudos to these doctors who put us back together at all ages! I have had multiple surgeries in my life, starting with double ankle surgery at 15, after developing crippling bone spurs. It was hard watching my 8 siblings going to summer camp without me, and wearing orthotic shoes while all my friends were wearing pretty ones. As a 66 year old I needed double shoulder replacements, and a hip replacement after a bout of Lyme disease. Before I was able to get the surgeries, (Covid delays), over 2 1/2 years. (If you had viewed what I had to do to get through a day it would have been quite comical.) 😁 it was not easy, but it built things into me that will serve me well the rest of my days! I can tell you, doctors and surgeons can help you regain a measure of physical flexibility… but the most important ingredient to Jonah’s future happiness and fulfillment is the mental, emotional and spiritual strength and flexibility you as parents are teaching him. Farm life done right just builds that into a person, and know that if you can’t give him perfect health, you are giving him that. ❤️🥰
The more you move, you never get rid of boxes, you just fold them up and store them. I have moved for various reasons about 30 times. I don't know what it is like to have a hometown. I have lived in Cleburne for 29 years in October, we came here knowing nobody, now we know a few people, for me the people I know are either from church or shopping at Walmart. I worked at Walmart a little over 5 years and I worked at Crowley WM and quit, worked at Dollar General before Christmas that year, went to training at Granbury, Worked at Godley until it closed a year later, transferred to Granbury for 6 months, transferred to Cleburne to be closer to my kids, this was while Darrell and I were divorced, then we remarried in January of 2017 after 1-1/2 years, and I ransferred to Burleson because Cleburne dropped my hours to one 4-1/2 hour day one week and two 4-1/2 days the next week. What I earned paid my insurance on me and the three kids and my paycheck was $2.69. Never have I ever had a paycheck that small.
TO KEEP CATS OUT of your beds, place sticks that are about 9" tall all over, around the edges use longer sticks, place them between plants as well. Once the plants are larger, cats seem to loose interrest as they are just looking for bare areas to do their business. Easy peasy! I have a feral cat colony so I am extremely qualified to answer the question. Lol
Great recap! I have to say, Rebecca looks pretty much like she did when you two were married, but you actually look better now than you did then, lol! I've been watching your family and homestead grow for maybe 10 years. I plan to continue watching!
I admire your family especially your wife. She is better than gold. I´m going to share with you a recepy I learned from a friend I knew when I lived in Zimbabwe for pig trotters. Simmer some onions with garlic until translusent. Add a few chopped tomatoes and some tomato paste. Add your favourite spices. I personaly use salt, pepper and sweet paprika but as I said you can use any spice you like. Then add the pork trotters, any beans you like, preferably large white beans but what you have will do, carrots and potatoes. Let it cook slowly until the meat falls off the bone. About fifteen minutes before its ready I cut a few slices of choritzo into the pot. What I ussually do is I cook this dish in the evening and let it cool overnight and before warming it up for dinner the next day I scoop out all the fat that has settled on top.. If you dont add potatoes its nice to eat it with rice. You can add a few drops of lemon juice to cut the taste of fat. All the best to you all. You can do the same with ox tail and ox trotters. Its delicious,
I have moved so many times. After we moved to Liberty, we lived with my grandparents for 3 months. Then we moved from the house at Crosby to a house north of Liberty, 30 miles away, and then we traded houses with the family who bought that house a year later, then my parents bought a house closer to the school and I walked to the high school, and they lived there temporarily for 42 years before they died.
Normal A1C is between 3.8 and 5.6. You are smack dab in the middle of the normal range. I have no idea why a Dr would even say that you were pre-diabetic. Just had mine tested earlier this week, and mine is down to 5.6 and is at the high end of normal, but my Dr was thrilled with my results.
I would suggest a ream catcher like eavesdrops on all of your creations of buildings to catch the rain and collect it into a building or a bucket in order to then prosper from nature by collecting the rain and utilizing it as a water system.
I love to check back in to your channel every once in a while I have watched your family grow and thrive with love and through loss, your communication skills and drive to keep going even when its hard has always been something I looked up to❤ wishing a better 2024 for you and your family

It's amazing how much the kids have grown this year...I really notice a big change in Josiah....he literally turned from a boy to a young man.
I love the way that you allow your children to participate and train them to do what needs to be done in a fun way way to go! They now know what needs to happen What should happen and the safe way to do it I wish there were more parents like you

Hope you doing well.

❤ your family is a blessing to the world...God bless youzzzzz and keep you in the palm of His hand. Food 4 thought in Leviticus. 😊

Congratulations for you and your family.
I am enjoying every video I watch. Happy holiday ❤
A lot of family working together with some health problems but looking back y’all have so much to be proud of. Happy for all of you.
Your family and community are amazing! Merry Christmas and I pray you all have a rewarding and blessed New Year
I admire your family especially your wife. Its delicious,
Great compilation
I have moved so many times. After we moved to Liberty, we lived with my grandparents for 3 months. Then we moved from the house at Crosby to a house north of Liberty, 30 miles away, and then we traded houses with the family who bought that house a year later, then my parents bought a house closer to the school and I walked to the high school, and they lived there temporarily for 42 years before they died.
❤ so excited for yall ! Merry Christmas Rhodes 🎅 🎄 ❤️
Great show! Wished all your videos were this long!
Thanks for sharing 👍🏼
Normal A1C is between 3.8 and 5.6. You are smack dab in the middle of the normal range. I have no idea why a Dr would even say that you were pre-diabetic. Just had mine tested earlier this week, and mine is down to 5.6 and is at the high end of normal, but my Dr was thrilled with my results.
You can be normal at a fasting level. This doctor is correct
I would suggest a ream catcher like eavesdrops on all of your creations of buildings to catch the rain and collect it into a building or a bucket in order to then prosper from nature by collecting the rain and utilizing it as a water system.
