I always spray a thin coat of Rust Check or WD-40 on any painted metal engine parts like the air filter housing and injector lines. Keeps it looking good under the hood.
Great informative video as always my friend, one small note i might add maybe you could lower the camera's exposure a little 'cause everytime i'm watching one of your videos it's like i'm in heaven lol
I could not from the video, but did the engine have tappet hold down kit installed in the head? If it did not the tappet guides can back out and ruin the engine, especially since this car has higher mileage that would be a real concern.
Can you please clarify if rtv is to be used on your PermaDry Valve Cover gaskets? Because I watched another video from you that says RTV should NEVER be used on your PermaDry Valve Cover Gaskets, and I'm so confused.
(Apologies if slightly off topic, as soon a I saw the word “Gaskets” it reminded me of the Head-Gasket thing, Lol)I’m assuming there’s a logical reason I’ve simply never heard mentioned (Other than initial Cost to the auto/engine manufacturer..?), but my Question: Why not use a simple copper type head-gasket similar to what’s used in VERY High compression racing engines? …my first guess would be that they wouldn’t fail very often in a much more civilized street engine. It would *possibly* help to avoid the often Large Labor charge for the work necessary to access and swap out an OEM type gasket that’s seems like Frick’n rice-paper in comparison to a cooper Head-gasket? But Hell, I dunno. 🤔For some odd reason I researched the specific topic. Hmm… -- Anyway, Thanks! 👊
@@myRatchets Certainly very plausible answer. I just wonder, IF, a copper head-gasket Does have significantly more durability and longer Lifespan. For all I know something about the Race Gasket’s design characteristics, particular material science, rhe copper’s metallurgy, and some chemical breakdown reaction that’s accelerated by the extreme Heat? Make them tremendously Stronger at the cost of sacrificing Longevity. I dunno. ….BUT IF, let’s just say the metal gasket possibly has an Average Durability/Lifebspan2x-3x longer on average. ‘Cause I’m Poor, all my cars always well worn used and pretty much if the Head-gasket blows it’s more money fix then just buy new.
Bud, you just insulted the SHAGuar. Hey hey utubes, back with the pretty car. We in England would translate that as a gay man's car. LOL!!!! It is in how you said it and the way you said it. Made me laugh alot. I would love if you could find the ultra rare XJR-S version, sky blue hard top. This is by far the best Shaguar around.
Why "Yuk". Prior to the JLR company Jaguar cars were extremely well made. Not their fault that some folk can't maintain them properly. I have a series 3 V12 & 4.2 cars both are running well and I've had them 25 yrs.
Here are links to products which were used in this video:
Carbide Scrapper: amzn.to/3G6jIWa
RTV Silicone Squeezer: amzn.to/3BRysp8
Does the engine pressure stabilize itself, or do I need to I guess "bleed it out"?
One of the best explained DYI automotive video channels , even a dingas like me can understand
Glad you liked it!
The innocence of "these nuts" 😂
Love your videos, congratulations on the awesome new garage.
😁
you are fantastic dude ! the consistency of your videos and the knowledge is much appreciated
Glad you like them 👍

Take a shot every time he says " Dee's Nuts "
thats only 2-3 shots I think
Take a shot every time he says "valve cover"
DEEEZ 🥜
Ever look at an engine and say “funk I don’t want to do this!” ? This engine does this that for me
haha this is an easy engine to work on.
Great job.... 🤔 I forgot your name. Deez nutz had me rolling 🥜😂💕👍

You got it. Stay tuned
You must be a great mechanic if you own a jaguar on purpose.

My half moon was leaking too just put in a new gasket thanks

My guess is the cost of material and extra surface prep they would need to do for copper. MLS is cheaper and rarely fails on its own.

Angle grinder??? Lol...no.
Ha you know what I meant.
Die grinder, close enough. It's the kind of discs that's the important bit

@@harwoods11 yuk because of the video.. it explains why they aren't so well engineered afterall.
It's just me, and so it doesn't matter. But I hate this car!
