How do you identify individuals to track their progress? In the instance of there being multiple individuals of their species how would you differentiate them?
They don't move hardly from their favoured spot, keeping to a network of silken pathways that they lay down. They're very particular to their chosen branch and don't move throughout the winter, of course. But females lay one to four eggs on any tree, so it's easy to keep track of them unless predated. In fact, I've just been to see this one again, to find it's looking for a pupation site, so an update is coming soon 😀

What tree is it on ?
They feed on Goat Sallow Salix caprea, sometimes other broadleaved Sallows.
