RafaCreeper 72 I am really glad that you managed your way out of the snow... I'm confident it has it's benefits like in your situation.. but to me or most people I think would opt not to take their 4x4 off road just for entertaining. to me I prefer to rent a car for that and keep my car clean and sound.
I completely disagree with Mat, and I watched almost all of his reviews, and I always disliked and disagreed with him on this matter, he always says trust me you don't need the 4WD version of this car, for all the cars. You all trust me I need 4WD, and a good one, may not be for off roading though, but for some snowy and steep uphills definitely, that's even why I'm watching reviews of these cars and/or SUV's that are available in 4WD.
Test drove all 3 cars. X3 for comfort and handling Glc for looks only, as to noisy in side cabin with no power and crapy gear shift position. Evoque for Looks, comfort and handling at a better price then the other 2 cars
I bought the BMW X3, 20 D with sports package and I just love it, drives beautiful and sports seats super comfortable. I know you day the interior is outdated but I think it has classic style
Although I'm a BMW fan, the interior in the X3 looks crappy. IMO, the best one is the GLC, considering looks and performance. RR Evoque feels kinda outdated..
I'm glad Mercedes is making comfortable cars again. I really don't like the trend of manufacturers going for ridiculously firm suspension on luxury/family cars which are supposed to waft down the motorway.
I love all 3, but the boot is definitely a LOT smaller on the Evoque than the other two. (My mom has an Evoque, and it _is_ a great car to drive, but it's just that limited cargo space that kills it for me.) I drove an X3 for 3 years, and while those criticisms are probably fair, I *LOVED* it. Such a classy ride. Maybe not flashy, but really nice to drive. _Today,_ I'd probably choose the Benz with a Diesel engine (coming soon in the U.S., they say) for nice MPG. (TBH I _really_ want an F-Pace or Discovery Sport!) Looking in this segment for a nice new one next year.
You're probably right. Evoque seems decent to me, but BMW is better I'm sure. Like I said, I really loved my BMW. It was a dream come true for me to own that car.
+xSteviee13_ no it's not. But sometimes it's tough to match like for like as we rely on manufacturers to send the cars they have available on the days the track is available and we are available... These things are always a compromise.
Hey Matt... You review cars in the best way possible.Your reviews actually help in making decisions. It would be great to meet you some day and gain some knowledge! Wish you all the best. Regards Aniket.
Hi Mat, The videos are going great, but the colour balance is a bit off. I feel it's lacking colour and there is too much grey. Thanks for the videos!! Take it easy
Hi Matt I get really annoyed by comments that most SUV drivers don’t go off-road. To me the reason for buying one is to drive through muddy fields and over ruts. I’d like to see how all these cars get on in these circumstances
My view of the Merc? In my best Python accent--"I'm not dead yet!" Yeh, give me the bimmer. I still have a pulse and still enjoy the act of driving. Test drove the Merc, and I nearly fell asleep.
Very nice video, i would like to see another comparison like this about their bigger brothers, im talkking about the Range Rover Sport, BMW x5, mercedes gle, porsche cayenne and other cars of this level
@@user-ip5fm3ck4p no I'm gonna go check Edmund's consumer reviews man lmao I want something that's got power luxury and comfort Audi and Mercedes. Looked into Infiniti and alfa but idk also looking around 15k-22k

Really enjoying your videos Mat although unsure why this one is "unlisted" on youtube. I'm actually tossing up between the w205 C class and the GLC. Previously I owned a w204 C250 CDI with the OM651 engine (pretty sure it's the same as the current gen diesel but mine didn't have the newer gearbox) so am trying to determine if it's worth going SUV rather than sedan.
The Evoque is the best looking car, 4 years after I got my coupe people still stop me to ask questions about it. Btw amazing on the snow. We have lots of that here in Canada and the car performs amazing. I love the car and it drives amazing. The sport mode makes it a lot of fun to drive on the highway and still looks and performs like the first day I got it. Range Rover did a great job here specially with the design and fuel economy.
The GLC and most non performance Mercedes in general are meant to remove stress from driving. I have a GTR for the crazy stuff, a convertible for the summer and a Mercedes for everything else. If I had one choice as a long daily driver it is difficult to fault the Mercedes approach.
Syed Ibrahim Hasan you must be sure. the xc60 is a very great premium car, she can fight with all of this car. i have seen and been in the evoque, q5 and x3 and i prefer xc60. but i don't know the glc and f-pace.
The X3 can't hold a candle to the RR & the GLC. These 2 are quite different cars too tho and appeal to a different demograph so for me the only possible winner is GLC. Thats why I traded in my Lexus for one. The GLC is a superb car but also has that 3 pointed star to back it up.
Well i'm BMW fan and i need to say this test was good i agree for Merc well because it's brand new hope you will do again test when come out new X3 next year
merc's screen looks out of place and that system is awkward to use due to a swivel wheel and touch pad on top of it, feels very complicated specially when you're driving

We're not in the grip of the seventies now and our products stand up to their competitors. It's right to support ourselves as an industrial power and as a brand. Generally around the world people who just want a car that meets their needs do buy from their domestic markets. Of course we don't spend that £30,000 or there abouts purely on need. Especially when every car is a rolling advert. Just my opinion on the matter.
Very wrong to support an industry for the sake of patriotism... look what happened in the US where they had a sudden wake-up call that lasted some 30 odd years... is it only now that some realize that buying domestic is the solution and not the reason of sub par R&D and taking advantage of the consumer? Look at how they succeeded in convincing people that good maintenance means changing the engine oil religiously at every 3000 miles, people to this day go by that number in the US and by 5000 km in Canada even though the maintenance reminder calls for numbers not known to them simply because the owner's manual stays unopened for years to come...
Nothing holds the road like a Landie. But the design! No visibility, for what? a strange sea turtle shell design. No no no Landrover! Return to the LR2 design.

Why did Land Rover replace the rotary knob gear shifter with a lever?! That was one thing that made the Range Rover a little more special than its competitors.
" SUV owners never take their cars off-road " is most accurate statement in the car industry. Good luck in your new channel
Depends where you live. Not in UK perhaps but here in Australia you go off-road.
Here in the US I got stuck in the snow but fortunately I had 4wd

Yeah feel the same they did a pretty bad job with this one in my opinion, even tho I love literally ever Beamer

The RR Evoque is in the X1 , GLA , Q3 size class , for this you should get the LR Discovery sport or the LR Freelander. The boot race was funny.
I'm glad Mercedes is making comfortable cars again. I really don't like the trend of manufacturers going for ridiculously firm suspension on luxury/family cars which are supposed to waft down the motorway.
+Oscar Lee I agree, manufacturers have got to focus on the car type, and customer that most likely buys it.
Thanks for giving me so many reasons to consider the GLC! I've always been inclined towards it and your video reinforced my opinion.
The X3 rear lights arrangement, take me back to original X5 16 years ago. Doesn't change a little bit.
The GLC is the best looking, best built, most modern car here, but it is probably most expensive.

Mercedes do the best looking interiors
+Adam Chapman
Yeah, with all that tacky cheap glossy black console and the stand out(why?) aluminum vents...
The BMW interiors look bland but once you actually sit in one, it just feels the best and driver oriented.
yea the BMW makes the best interiors
fair enough i guess it depends what car\model you get
Adam Chapman The BMW interiors are fairly similar, the 5 series one is the most outdated and bland. The newer models have very nice design
