Man what a coincidence, I literally just downloaded the game and played for the first time. Open up UA-cam and see this was uploaded like 15 minutes ago. It was meant to be
You got me as soon as you mentioned Loch Ard. Probably my preferred stage, after playing RBR since 2011 or so Then I see Sherwood, and you absolutely nailed it. Fantastic, specially in wet conditions. I'm sure you love Carvalho de Rei too!
RSF needs a stage rating system. There are so many stages to choose from but some are not great quality. I think if they implemented a post-stage star-based rating system it would help the community to filter out the bad from the good. RSF doesn't neeeeeed 700+ stages. We can afford to have a system like this.
The terrifying Australian stage with the massive drop. Mineshaft, or something like that? The first time I drove it my stomach dropped with the car. Love it
Your commentary and presentation have always been top-notch. I appreciate everything you put out. Im 33 and to this day havent been in a place that permits me owning a sim rig or simple setup, and videos like this make me want one even more. Keep it up man
Jake is it? This is the first time I've written a comment to one of your videos but just had to share what a pleasure it is to watch the footage you expertly stitch together and evocatively narrate. Good job my friend!
Amazing, due to my bad level of English ! I don’t always take the time to watch your videos on RBR. But this one I watched in it’s entirely and it’s really great ! Both in the narration and the images chosen. I also recognize one of my fathers skin (Porsche Grp 4, yellow and red by Jose Barbara, a famous driver from the north of France). I hope, we will be able to fight together on a championship for fun (like SRM, but my time is very precious and I don’t always have time to play) Thanks again !!
I actually needed a list like this. I've recently approached Simrallyfans' RBR, but not yet ready for online competition. Going on random stages is not always great as imho not all stages have the same level of quality
I find the online rally lists to be a good guide. I am new and terrible and crash out of the online rallies constantly, but it doesn't matter, I'm not ruining anyone else's day. I do the ones you don't need to sign up for so I can blast through them quickstyle
I just started the rabbit hole that is RSF RBR, and i have to say a favorite i found quick is Hualapai Nation, such a fast paced and relatively easy stage, 8km but its full of flat out sections and wide roads, it still has some hard sections that can sneak up on you, mainly blind tight turns as you crest a hill and have to rapidly shut the car down to stop from going off the edge. Great fun to keanr any car on, i use it as my learning stage. Fast, flowy, and the occasional sneaky corner makes it super funtto learn on
Great video Jake. Strange but I have started playing this as well. It's very addictive and I too have registered on Sim Rally Masters driving no less than the ubiquitous Trabant😄. It's amazing how many Subaru's and Quattro's I have left in the dust which just shows it's not all about power and top speed😁 but a careful right foot and good coordination. My favourite sim was always Assetto Corsa but you know I can't remember the last time I looked at it. That must speak volumes for this antique game.
3 years for 8,4 KM... damn. Man I can't wait to finally own a direct drive wheel and experience RBR in VR all again. This video was super entertaining btw., brilliant stuff! :D
loving all the RBR content lately! i’m planning on upgrading my computer for my birthday soon (currently sim racing on a laptop) and RBR is first on my list of sims to get when the time comes so you having RBR on your channel is really going to help me get started
Took me almost a year to finally download this game. And good lord. This thing is amazing! Sure the graphics arent top notch, but its so well optimized and runs like butter. A little overwhelmed by the stage selection, so looking for good suggestions. Thanks for the video!
It's amazing that RBR is still beloved among sim racers worldwide - if it's not too proud a boast, it's very much the Grand Prix Legends of rallying. Will you be making a video on the best cars to choose when playing the game - or have I missed that one?
I downloaded the game for Ouninpohja, Finland. One of the most exciting first sectors, while simply making it to the 3rd sector unscathed makes you feel extremely tense. It’s long, tiring, and an overall great experience!
GP, you played the latest lazer scanned stage?? It's bloody brilliant, in the shadows the tarmac is cooler and in the sun, well, it's hotter. There's dips and crevices of dirt, mud and ice too!
@@ddt3619 oh is that the gravel one? I drove the really nice laser scanned tarmac stage and it was glorious! Excited if this is the same quality but gravel. If that’s the quality of future rbr stages, we are in for a treat!
From default stages, I prefer USA Diamond Creek II. It's almost flat out with biggest jumps in RBR. In one corner you can jump sideways straight to the corner.
I had tried to play Dirt Rally 2.0 again a year ago after playing mostly RBR with the Rallysimfans mod and I couldn't even get past the second corner. That game's physics don't even begin to compare with RBR. They feel so slidy and wrong, and the force feedback gives you no info as to what the tires are doing. The only thing that game has going for it is pretty courses. In RBR, I can tell if a wheel is in the air or I've lost traction. Also, I'd love for there to be an included car that is even less powerful than the Fiat 126. Something with around 30hp would be even more fun trying to go fast with. I already love taking the 126 and the Trabant through courses but those things have about double the factory specs in-game.
Thanks for the video gp laps. I've discovery this incredible modding community of rbr with you. So for other people that might be noob on how to install and configure this game could you create an video as a tutorial about it? Thanks
tbh east west always looked for me like warthog just copypasted and repeaed some places, making them different by strechting or narrowing the mesh, putting trees to another side. kind of swiss1-2-3-4 style , but in thee end it worked out very well. btw ever realized how repeatitive is harwood 2 to original directions? even the river repeats, just with a bridge instead of a watersplash.
In your SRM live stream, you mentioned possibly putting together a pacenotes video. That would be awesome if you did. I'm new to RSF RBR (two months in). I am currently using the stock pacenotes and I would like to instead use numbers as turn descriptions. I have been researching it, but it isn't super clear to me what the steps are. I think I need to download Janne's Pacenote Plugin Mod Pack 2.0 (or one similar) and then edit the pacenotes using the double right click with the Pacenote Plugin. However, now there is the new RBR Roadbook which seems to be better, yet I think I still need Janne's PPMP 2.0. Anyways, it is a bit confusing on the best way to go. I think I can figure it out, but a video would be much appreciated. It would help newcomers to RBR. Thanks
If you double click to get the pacenotes app up you can change the .ini file to numbers. I had wondered how to do it for a while too. You need to do it for every stage the first time ;)

Yup, thats mineshaft. I remember when I thought "naaaaah this jump cant be that big" just before this drop. Well you probably know how wrong I was xd
The jumpscare of rally games, pun unintened
Not sure if you know this, but that jump is actually “real”. It’s not quite that big, but there is a huge mineshaft jump like that in Australia.

YES! Of all the original stages, Mineshaft Australia is the one that everyone needs to play.
