Hey everyone! Thanks for checking the video out, *in love with this setup* 😍 Links and quick review at the end of the video, chapters in the description to skip through if ya want. Cheers! 🤙
There’s some very nice stickers I’m seeing at the end. 😊 Super nice thou Adam!! Love the effort with the paint. Also love the face time at the end of the video!
Super love this build, like most of yours. If you want a neat little trick, throw a V brake on the fork and hook it up with a friction shifter or lockout lever to use as a parking brake. Works super great for that and you can sorta hide the shifter somewhere if you want. it doubles as a security measure in case someone tries to ride off with it. I''m in love with that remote bell setup, its so silly and extraneous and fun
Uk, Sunday morning, breakfast in bed and a new toasty video. 🙂. Love your little personal mods and hacks. I have a "special" seatpost i use to knock headset cups out
Goodmorning from the other side of the world 👋 good timing! Haha sounds like a decent Sunday morning. Cheers! Haha I use those old flat handlebars for things like that, or as make shift breaker bars 👌
I put one of these forks on a Bridgestone & I love it. Groceries, chainsaws, pets, etc. I love what you did with front rear matchy matchy. Thanks for sharing.
Dudeeee bike turned out awesome !! This bike is fully decked out to the max , love the mods too - especially the bell one ! Def wanna try it soon. Also why did I buy so many spacers for mine 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😆 great vid , catch ya soon
Thanks heaps Gary 🥹 the bell is so rad haha, always liked bells seen from the side view too for some reason 🤷♂️ definitely do it! Will be rad to see, some people have used thumbies to pull them but the dropper lever is smaller 👌 I can send a chunk of seatpost over 😂👌
I've seen this shared more than anything else today.. everybody got a heart for it too. love how this bikes lifestory has been. I hang my U locks off my bike seat rails usually.. helps support the bag back there
Hello from Whangarei gateway to the noughty north, myself and a friend watch your builds and enjoy them heaps, we do similar builds up here mostly retro modern, I'm more into the urban/commuter builds and my friend mostly does them as gravel bikes, my channels messy with not much to see but will clean it up and just do basic "walk arounds" of our builds,we have some beauties' and rarities waiting to build up, your fixed gear build took me by surprise as I love fixed and ss builds, keep it up
That Duramax clear is fantastic and well priced. The Duramax paint is great too. Flows really nicely. That clear reacts with the Dulux metal shield spray paints though……. I learnt that the hard way and had to strip a bike back.
Agreed, it sprays really nicely! Nice even coat pretty easily. Oh woah I hadn’t tried the clear over their metal shield, good to know it reacts! Did you just leave the metal shield as the top coat, then?
@@toastyrides I ended up speaking to Dulux about it. They basically said that the metal shield is pretty hardy and you can get away without a clear but then he admitted the real reason was that they hadn’t been able to get a chemical makeup of a clear that was effective and didn’t react with the paint.
That's a great looking ride! I've been looking at the Clydesdale Forks for a bit now. I always love to watch your build videos, look forward to your review of the Clydesdale Fork in the future. Stay safe.
Thank you! Yeah it’s definitely something that requires longer consideration, so far I’m really enjoying it 👍 will update with a review after a fair amount of use, will do a back to back comparison with similar loads etc too. Thanks, happy riding! 🤙
I really like the bell a lot! I can only assume that is a custom mod. I don’t remember seeing it before. Custom brake lock is also great. I always appreciate your diy hacks. You always have a good way with that sort of thing. Very thoughtful review. Very well done!
Thank you! Glad you learned something here, there are kickstand plates but they aren’t entirely necessary on steel frames. Alloy frames need them though or you’ll crush the tubes too easily/fatigue them over time
Loved the video. What size Hardrock is that? My friend had a large size Rockhopper which fitted me pretty good - we are both about 193cm - but never come across such a large one again.
😳subbed.. Because I'm currently building my daily unicorn, a pink ,purple and lime green 20inch folding shopper bike . Frame ,gears and vbrakes are from a brand new cheap Argos bike "challenge Holborn ' I'm fitting gt bmx flat land bars and hubs and it's having front and rear racks to mount two Aldi shopping baskets ,then I get a third basket that I paint to match the bike and make it obvious that it's mine, then I can go and do my shopping and when I get back to my bike the basket just slides into the one mounted on the back and I might move some of the lighter stuff into the front but then when I get home I just carry my basket inside.. It's life changing😂 any excuse to pop the shops these days 👍 your bike is just friggin sassy bud 👌mint
@@toastyridesI've seen people weld and decided it must be easy cause it looked easy 😅 welding some random metal basket that may have nothing to do with cycling to an old steel frame for a frame mounted front basket could be fun right? Or perhaps just 2 curved rails for a front rack. Perhaps using fork legs from a free old fork. Angle grinder. Welding machine thing. Mask. Not free but you got what you got
Nice video. Do you remember where you got the pink frame chain protector from? Been looking for one for a while now, and I like the style of that one. Thank you. :)
I bought a HardRock today in Oz and have a plan to do similar. What size stem did you go for? the one the donor came with is huge and feels odd before putting fork on.
Ooh nice, I’m loving mine. This stem is about 90mm I think, but would depend on your fit to the bike. 90mm is a good starting point though, trial a cheap-ish stem then go from there. Most old MTB’s have huge stems, which I never tend to use unless I’m using extreme backswept bars like a Nitto Albatross or something.
Pretty simple, should be able to make one off the video. Just a dropper post lever pulling a gear cable, gear cable goes through the bell with a cable knarp on the end to pull the bell.
3 things: 1) no one has ever mentioned this, so I won’t be catering just to you. 2) 90% of my filming is on a tripod, not handheld 😂 handheld footage is wavy, not stable. 3) if you find something nauseating just don’t do it? 🤷♂️
Hey everyone! Thanks for checking the video out, *in love with this setup* 😍 Links and quick review at the end of the video, chapters in the description to skip through if ya want. Cheers! 🤙
I could cry 2 toasty videos in 3 days 😭
😂👌 should have more this coming week, too! Cheapbike build will be up this week then have a Nishiki Alien video overdue for editing 🤙

Nice rebuild Toasty, love your work.
Haha a nice weird lil bonus touch 👌😆 cheers mate! Thanks for the kind words 🥹🤙 have a great day!!
This made my morning, love the cargo fork conversion!

I love the bell system you mocked up!!

That's one of the coolest bikes I've seen on UA-cam. Perfection.

Bridgestone Clyde would be amazing! What kind of pet do you carry in it?! I’ve seen dogs really enjoy them 👌 thanks for checking it out! 🙌
@toastyrides Jack russell. I mean the dane would barely fit, buuuut.

That’s awesome! My kona hoss 2005 is a Clydesdale bike - and it lives up to its name, a true workhorse had since 08 and done miles upon miles on it

Thanks heaps mate! 🙌 have a great week

Nice build, I learn a lot here! Do you know of a braze on for a rear kickstand, I'd like to add one to an old bike?

Hi!! I want to know where I can Buy that kind of decals. Sorry about My English, l reely like youre videos :)
Is the 1" threadless setup too stiff compared the the previous quill option?

where did you get the front forks from
I remember the 1st generation 1981-2 lol
Way back in the day! That was before most of them had colourful paintjobs, too, haha 👌
Mines an 89 btw i love it

how does the bell works?
Pretty simple, should be able to make one off the video. Just a dropper post lever pulling a gear cable, gear cable goes through the bell with a cable knarp on the end to pull the bell.
what handlebars are those?
The new one on it is a Simworks fun3bar 🤙 the one at the start of the video is a Nitto Kite
I don't get why these are so expensive
Hipster tax
Not sure a $300 front fork is justifiable 😮
I suggest pulling the camera back and putting it on a tripod once in a while. This handheld superzoom footage is nauseating
