“The closest most of us will get to driving a formula 1 car!”
*cries*
To be fair, an F1 game with a simple home setup with a decent force feedback wheel and helmet view is not bad. Can also get an idea of how difficult it is to drive too ;) Obviously still no where near the real thing, but pretty cool. Especially doing the same track with a normal car after in an F1 car, the F1 has sooo much more grip.
Nah vr f1
@@Buddahknife for a few minutes, after that you will be in the toilet puking
vr + steering wheel+F1 2021 game= more than this.
@@sreejith8022 I made this mistake. Tried a VR headset at a trade show. Promptly puked.
MORE OF THIS!!!
No.
No the angle is terrible and you can't see the tracks, I really hope this is a one off.
@Toasted' Nugget_' As mace master has put it, this angle feels too awkward plus i want to see closer racing up top. Immersion means nothing to me.
@Ryan 420 "unusual for a v6".. It's the opposite. The hybrid cars have massive amounts of energy being recovered through the turning of the rear wheels and make much more torque than the previous generation engines. A higher torque output also means there is higher torque required on input from the driveline when off throttle.
@Toasted' Nugget_' Also the track isn't, it's just the sides of the track. That are bumpy. The tacks do have slight elevation change though. But it's all gradual to keep consistency.
"Just sit back and listen to this!"
JK we're going to talk all the way through it.
This is why James Alan is better than Crofty
@@sylviestar5520 There’s days when a random fan plucked out of one of the grandstands would be better than Crofty.
He didn’t start off this way. I’m sure Sky must be constantly telling him to get more shouty and “exciting”.
Sound was practically off anyway.
imo the renault engine sounds the best in the grid
Ffs
I would have loved this angle when Alonso was defending against Hamilton last race, the amount of mirror checking must have been INSANE lol
for real
I think you might be surprised how little they use their mirrors!
These guys know where an overtaking move is likely to happen based on instincts, corner characteristics, the tow you're providing for the guy behind and how well you've come off a corner etc.
Using your mirrors is one of the biggest distractions - it would be so easy to miss your breaking point etc if you're concentrating overly on what's happening behind.
@@yewtubez oh for sure all the wheel to wheels
@@MrSpanks Not quite, everything you've said is correct but they check their mirrors quite a lot just to confirm that the driver behind them is actually where they think they are, they just do it incredibly quickly so you don't notice it often.
@@MrSpanks agree, they usually sense someone is about to overtake just by basing it on their instincts and peripheral vision.
The fact that this is on Fernando's helmet makes it more exciting to watch
Fernando's helmet is someone elese's helmet!
Imagine if its Kimi's helmet and we started to hear him swearing / begging for his drink 😂
@@haninditabudhi6574 bwoah
Yeessssss
i think its the best driver they could have chosen probably the most naturally gifted drivers in modern f1
they need this on a new driver every race
Yes
It helps me visualize this in my dreams when I am winning 10 championships and winning by 2min margins
They need this on every driver and should broadcast most of the race from these cameras.
Looks like Formula 1 has finally caught up with Indycar.
I think their gonna do that. Every weekend a certain driver would have to do this helmet cam. I hope that happens. It’s the first time it’s been broadcasted live.
The fact that they did this for the first time with a LEGEND like Alonso, is even more brilliant!
Love how Paul just ignored Crofty's question about the drivers being so blase as they drive through Eau Rouge
Long wanted this. This is sick!
there are loads of these from years back, unless you mean Spa specifically not sure

@@thomashayhurst6547 in FE they just blur the wheel dash
@@ElSarto_ESP they might do that then
@@thomashayhurst6547 You see it anyway in the onboard shots.
MORE! I want a full lap with no commentary, just natural audio, then several laps worth of commentary! 👍
And commentary from someone who knows the circuit, to walk us through what's happening
Riding with Fernando Alonso, probably the best driver on the grid makes it more exciting.
Cope Olympics.
I think Hamilton would have something to say about that. But, he is definitely the most unconventional. That steering wheel flip should make him spin more, but it doesn’t. No one throws a car into a turn, adjusts the car accordingly, and speeds away like Alonso. No one.
@@LagmasterB i mean youre right and wrong. Plenty of people do it all the time, just not in f1
I think Verstappen is a tad better than Alonso but else I agree. Hamilton comes in third.
Alonso still got it!! Glad we have him next year in F1!

U do realize all these on boards r available with no commentary over them ...
If they gonna pick a driver to do this every track, I can’t wait for Mazepin to take us for a spin, literally.
my head hurts watching this. i don't think i can drive one of these things in a race. they need to clear out the whole track and remove the barriers for me to drive. Mazepin - yes bring it on.
Imagine watching a whole race through this perspective. Thank you F1 for the amazing techonology and idea of this
Fernando is definitely the driver we wanted this cam on!
This rookie shows skill, I don't think any of the other rookies could have held off Hamilton like he did. I would say he could even be world champion one day.

woah this would be epic if its verstappen vs hamilton fight in a race
