- Our latest paintings from the past is this reconstruction is of Bulstrode Camp an Iron Age Hillfort in Buckinghamshire. Jennie Anderson one of our illustrators and reconstruction artists spends many hours creating these digital watercolours of past landscapes. Here's her work spend up into a couple of minutes.
At Wessex Archaeology, our talented in-house Studio team use a wide range of materials, from traditional hand drawings and watercolours to full 3D reconstructions, to bring archaeology to life. Our artists work closely with our specialists to accurately visualise past communities and landscapes based on the archaeology and environmental evidence we discover on site. These reconstructions are vital in our mission to depict the lives of people in the past and to share their stories.

HI This is lovely, but if you could please make some reference to the project and funder that commisioned and paid for the work, that would be ace. Beacons of the Past: HIllforts in a Chilterns Landscape was a National Lottery Heritage Funded project that commissioned several wonderful reconstructions from Wessex Archaeology
