  • Here's a project for a DIY Unisex Faux Barbed Wire Barbell Chain Link Bracelet. With some wire and a little effort you can have your own unique accessory that is tailored to your personality. You need very little wire wrapping skills and minimal tools to achieve this project. So let's get started!
Time stamp for hook and circle clasp 7:15
Time stamp for how to put it together 9:41

For the bracelet in the tutorial I used, 7 feet of 20 gauge wire cut into 15 inch lengths, and 6 inches 18 gauge wire for the hook ad Circle clasp for a finished bracelet that measured 8 inches in length. This bracelet would look amazing for both men and women and and could be made into a necklace as well. Each link measures 1 inch from top to bottom. Based on a comment by a savvy viewer, I want to suggest that it’s best to play around with how much wire you use so you can have less waste wire.

Love this one Denise! Makes me want to get back to lifting, but recovering from over lifting at the moment (darn it to heck). I’m still learning my limits. What type of wire are you using? It looks like steel. Also, another commentator below mentioned Silpat. Can you please let me know what size and type you’re using? Thanks, and I hope the snow lets up soon. We are 75 today at IRB, FL. Spring is here, and so are allergies, lol, ahchoo. Blessings to you.

Good for you for lifting at all, I’m trying to get into it to add to my cardio but it’s been something I keep putting off. Good luck with your recovery, I’m sure you’ll be back soon. I use an old Silpat sheet that I bought years ago, the kind Martha Stewart uses, I used to be a big fan of hers, lol, but I’ve also bought silicone baking sheets, the kind that go in pans( from Costco) and beads stick pretty well to them too. I used a tinned copper for the bracelet, it’s inexpensive and easy to work with. Sorry about the allergies, hopefully they’re temporary for you and will reduce when the pollen and allergens decrease. Lots more snow today, I sound like a broken record now, lol. But word in the street is that spring is actually going to arrive in March, although the weather People are never right, I’m crossing my fingers. 😊

It seems you cut off about 4 inches off each side when you finished the barbells. Couldn't this be made by cutting less wire at the beginning?

Yes absolutely. I’m usually economical with wire but this time I dropped the ball 😊 I think the reason why I err on the side of excess is because I’m terrible for cutting too little wire and having to start all over. Thanks for bringing this up, it’s a great point.

Hi Denise..girl I am so snow blind I cant stand it..6 more inches today after 2 days of high 50s that melted the other crap. Great job, I love this design. I wonder if it would also work with 2 pieces of 24 or 26 gauge in copper and the silver wire and intertwine them like they are one wire.... Always waiting for your next video. Hope your well.

I hear you, we had snow, then freezing rain then snow, everyone’s driveway is like a skating ring, stores are literally running out of salt. Yes, you could probably use the 2 wires but would probably need to trim one before you make the closed loops, that’s how I would do it. The wraps will cover the trimmed area too. But a 26 gauge is usually ok to double up so I guess you’d have to play it by ear and decide after you’ve made one. 😊
