    Achieving such a result in this miniature with few details is an absolute masterpiece. The face alone is a work of art in itself.

    I'm really happy to find your channel as I'm starting with SWL a few weeks ago. This weekend Han Solo is on my workstation and is painted with the help of your fantastic tutorial. Only the duster coat is painted in another way to match my defenders of echo base.

    Might be the best Harrison Ford looking mini i've seen. Very nice. I love the high contrast highlights too. Makes those important features pop. I also have to say it is truly incredible how you keep your brushes SO darn fine and pointy. I have that same R&C brush that I clean regularly that isn't anywhere near the surgical tool yours is. Most impressive. Keep up the great video series.

    • @Sorastro
      @Sorastro  6 років тому

      Thanks a lot John! I couldn't agree more about the figure. It wasn't until I applied the zenithal highlights that I fully appreciated what a strong likeness they'd managed to achieve. Regarding the brushes, since filming this I've actually switched to the R&Co Series 8 (still size 2) which I'm really enjoying; it has a beautiful point, but a little more firmness and "snap".. 😀

    Great video once again. I particularly liked the way you walked through the stripes on Han's pants. I also liked all the subtle shading you did on his overall figure to make him pop when the color scheme didn't appear to have much color variation when you look at Han Solo in photographs online. I love this painting series and I look forward to the next one.

      @@Sorastro I sure did (saw what you did there, by the way!). I have a podcast that is geared for the beginner hobbyist/painter/gamer. Since I started last year (on 2/15!), it has slowly grown and the podcast has actually served to bridge the gap between beginners (present company included) and seasoned commissioned painters. The community this podcast is building on Instagram is wonderful! I want to ask: Would you be willing to be a guest on the podcast to share your hobby story, talk about any projects you'd like to share, and most importantly, offer some encouragement to my listeners? I would be honored and delighted if you would be willing. Please let me know. Thank you very much for your consideration and I look forward to your response. :)

    MY man...great video as always, Is there anyway you could do a quick more detailed video on how you did the forest bases....also the products you use on the bases are from a few different companies and I am having trouble tracking down some of the stuff as I live in the U.S. any help would be awesome

    • @Sorastro
      @Sorastro  5 років тому

      Thanks Stephen! Regarding the bases, I tend to skim over that in the later videos as I've already gone into it in some detail in the earlier episodes; if you skip to the "Finishing Touches" stages of the first few videos I think you'll find the extra detail you're after. Regarding products, I believe Woodland Scenics are US based and they make a wide range of excellent scenic products: woodlandscenics.woodlandscenics.com/ They're not especially cheap, but will serve as a good starting point. GamerGrass is also quite popular amongst hobbyists at the moment: www.gamersgrass.com/ and they have a nice range of tufts etc. Beyond that, any local model railway type stores will also likely stock things like turf, and static grass etc... I hope this helps :)
