that happens a lot I think...when you're just a child u wanna play with other kids and not be in a room with a teacher trying to teach something that you don't even find interesting. I call it wrong time and place. If he starts it now he might have a different perspective and taste and could probably start to like it.

Nothing is more pure than someone's reaction when they start to get the hang of an instrument.
You can tell it's not a real band. No one was 1.5 hours late and/or falling down drunk.
Our old drummer was always late, and our singer/lead was always tipsy...
To be fair though, me(bass) and second guitar(other friend) were always buzzed...😅.

wow, this is a perfect anthropological recreation of every band ever. in the wild a band is typically formed by one guitar player teaching several friends how to play a backing track. if lucky, the wild guitarist will know one person who took piano lessons when they were 10.

Hey that's me! played piano when I was ten and my guitarist friend started teaching me music a year ago now in my late 20s. Guitarist and I with backing tracks has turned into a band and we just played our first gig!
The bassist is surprisingly natural. He was able to keep the song going despite the snafu going on.
Probably because hes so focused on figuring out how to play that hes not paying attention but if it works it works lol

That guy is a natural drummer, he got it right very quickly and was able to maintain the rhythm very well for someone who never played before...
He also started drinking before the rehearsal even started, kept making noise while the guitarist is talking and had the best headphone despite just being a drummer.

@@coldmoonlight6361 Eh... played in front of as many as 13,000 in one show. It was a real band, as were others I was in. But I was referring more to the experimentation, the sense of exploration and goofiness, etc. that often shows up in rock bands, which I think is somewhat distinct from, say, orchestral composition and performance. And yeah, there we often times when we questioned whether some folks could really play their instruments! :-)

Yeah it's a bit more nasaly and whatnot. When he films his standard videos he has the opportunity to easily EQ and compress his vocal track when he edits. A more candid video like this lets us into his world a little more casually. I like it.
