Stronger head bolts, a turbo and tune, you'd have yourself a Typhoon.

I always considered this to be the Cadillac Escalade of the early 90s. Since technically it was GM's luxury SUV back then.

Always loved Chevy's for their plusher ride and smoother running, and Olds and Cadillacs were even more so.

Yes but it was a phony one, the bravada should've had a Buick or Pontiac badge instead and maybe then it would've been a success, maybe this is exactly why Oldsmobile went under by 2004. The Oldsmobile bravada is probably the worst suv error and fail in history

@@anthony_rivera4735 I mean the Oldsmobile bravada went for over a decade, even after the Escalade took shape. And technically it did eventually have a Buick badge when the Buick Rainier came about.

@@antwanmcclain8909 yes but I actually like the Buick rainier 2004-2007, though it was only meant to be a temporary model especially because they had recently begun development of the three-row enclave which came around the 2008/2009 model year, sadly Pontiac never got one. Saab also had their own version of the 3rd generation bravada from 2005-2008 to compete with the 1st generation Acura MDX, 1st generation BMW X5 and more

@@anthony_rivera4735 making a Pontiac version would've been overkill in my opinion.

I completely forgot about the Bravada. I always wanted one of these so bad as a kid. The body kit and wheels really did make this stand out in person vs the Blazer

I never knew they made a square bodied bravada. Thats awesome!

My first car I kept it nearly 12 years. Thing climbed rough terrain like a mountain goat. Wouldn't win any flat land races. But decent mpg.

This is honestly the best looking one of the 3. And ive had a few Blazers.. never a GMC.. GMC is the least desirable here IMHO, THIS ONE the most.. if you can forgive the AWD. 91-94 are the most handsome. SyTy has two doors.....

Imagine if Cadillac had used a proven platform for the Cimmaron like Oldsmobile did for the Bravada instead of flushing what was left of their reputation down the toilet with a heavily flawed first-year Cavalier

    • @kgbeezr75
      @kgbeezr75 3 роки тому

Executives seem to so often have little long-range vision. They probably figure it doesn't matter much what happens when they're no longer there. The Cimmaron wasn't horrible by the time it vanished in 87-88m but it wasn't a Cadillac either. The tiny 4 cyl in the first couple years was a comical mistake.

    • @texan903

At the time of the Cimarron being conceived, GM was in a tough period financially, leaving little budget for anything better than what became of the car.

You can't afford an escalade so you get a bravada

When was the last time you actually saw a first generation Bravada on the street? For me it six years ago and it was black one and she was a beauty, the owner took really good care of it, after that I haven't seen another one since then.

    • @marcuscook5145

I haven't seen one in a long time either. A very rare sight. I still see the occasional second-gen though... those look awful. I also see a third-gen once in a blue moon, but I don't think as many people bought those as they did the Buick version (Rainier I think?).

    • @steveespinola7652

Yes you are correct, the Buick version was called the Rainer.
