  • The Harvisptokhm is a beautiful tree located in Sumeru's Girdle of the Sands. In this video, I take a look at the new Vourukasha's Glow artifact set, which explains the history of this tree, and how the divine bird Simurgh was able to save it.

      as far as I remember, Makoto died exactly at Khaenri'ah as it was stated that she went there by herself and it was also shown at the cutscene. I am curious if she left an Archon Residue at Khaenri'ah just like what happened to Orobashi, Chi, Original Hydro Archon, and Guizhong (sealed)

    An interesting thing to note is that Lochfolk are able to merge with other bodies of water or each other to gain intelligence and to show closeness, so IF Focalors is a Lochfolk and the previous Hydro Archon's body (Amrita) and consciousness (Harvisptokhm) are still accessible it's possible Focalors and the previous Hydro Archon might merge and become one, or maybe they were originally one but were separated after a traumatic event? Becouse the Lochfolk can also separate from each other.

I know the gods and goddesses try not to trespass into each others domain, but I wonder it Nahida will be there for the traveler. You know Nahida did say that she could be reached anywhere by dreaming. I guess we will have to wait and see. 😅

    honestly, simurgh is probably one of the least interesting, least memorable lore characters in the game. and that's not to say I dislike the character or this whole piece of lore, it's more accurate to say I don't have any strong feelings on simurgh.
    for one, with all the complicated names in the world quest, simurgh very much gets lost in the shuffle. I didn't really understand the difference between simurgh, and the pari's god (the hydro archon). and because the hydro archon is also relevant in the whole pari lore, and with all the abyss and khaenri'ah lore going on, and the pari characters we interact with as well as the quest's plot, simurgh very much gets overshadowed by everything else. as a result, I ended up forgetting that simurgh was even a thing.
    and like, simurgh's story isn't all that unique, and I feel like its lore isn't developed enough beyond its sacrifice for me to really care about the character, even if it wasn't overshadowed. and I feel like they really didn't need simurgh as an explanation for the creation of the pari, and leaving the bird out of it would have probably made the dialogue in the quest a little simpler to understand.

    Version 2 of Folio of Foliage says Nahida just made the Gaokerena so maybe things did indeed go a little differently in the two samsaras. It's possible that Rukkhadevata back in the old samsara didn't die standing next to the Irminsul as her memory ghost presented in her domain of consciousness, but instead survived to go to Tunigi and create the big tree stump but in doing so she died, whereas Nahida, who in the present samsara is more powerful than Rukkhadevata was in hers, lived. Therefore René makes no mention of any Dendro Archon's nature in the Gaokerena when he says that it's made of the same stuff as his own body, which presumably is Hydro based, not Dendro.
    Clearly the Gaokerena is not the remains of Rukkhadevata now since she has never existed in this samsara.

    • @SiliconOneFour
      @SiliconOneFour  Рік тому +4

      Rukkhadevata did exist, it's just the memory of her was erased from Irminsul. There weren't two separate timelines. One actually happened, while the other was created by Irminsul to fill in the missing information. So yes, the Gaokerena is still likely to be the remains of Rukkhadevata.

    • @DavidJohnson-ib1dh
      @DavidJohnson-ib1dh Рік тому

      @@SiliconOneFour It's a popular theory but the game says it's not true. The past changed and we're in a different samsara where Rukkhadevata never existed. Nahida explicitly says the "it happened in the past but memories changed" theory is false, and Traveler, Paimon, Wanderer and Nicole all agree. Rukkhadevata seems to agree too but is pretty vague.
      The game says it several times but the simplest statement is probably when Traveler and Paimon drag Wanderer to see Nahida for the first time. He says something like "these two weirdos say I did horrible stuff in my past and can't remember it" and Nahida corrects him saying, no not in the past. It happened somewhere far further away than the past. Paimon says "the past past". Nahida says it's like a former incarnation but I don't like that word. Paimon says "like a past life?
      Later Wanderer asks Nahida if he is evil and she says something like well that depends on whether you identify with this Scaramouche character who was your past incarnation. If you think you're him then you're evil. And this disagreement on whether Wanderer should take on the karmic debt of Scaramouche becomes a theme with him saying yes and Nahida saying no.
      That and Nicole says the past does change. It's all pretty explicit and it's hard to understand how the false theory ever grew legs. Literally no text in the game ever says or hints that Irminsul can edit memories. It only collects them.

      Nahida: I don't like to rely on using terms like this often, but in your case it seems that it ought to be called a "previous incarnation."
      Paimon: Oh, like a past life or something?
      Nahida: Yes. Something far more distant than the past. So far away that you cannot perceive it.
      (and later after showing Wanderer the memories)
      Wanderer: I gave everything I had, but it barely changed history at all.
      Nahida: In terms of the outcome alone... that's true.
      Wanderer: You're a god... Do you think I'm evil?
      Nahida: If you accept that he is you, just as you are you, then yes - you are evil.
      Wanderer: After I dove into the information torrents in Irminsul, why did you go to Inazuma?
      Traveler: Because I wanted to know what you'd changed.

      Firstly, this is the meaning of lore, as far as I know you do not live the history of the past in real life, but it is still important to know it in order to understand how the world works and what brought the world to what it looks like now.
      Secondly, genshin is a long term project (about 10 years), and sooner or later we will get or see this past with our own eyes, well, the same with the history of the Traveler and Paimon, they are one of the main secrets.
      Thirdly, as the person above said, perhaps we will see all these events in the anime.
      Well, in general, I think you just don't like the service with a long term, and that's fine.

  • @DavidJohnson-ib1dh
    @DavidJohnson-ib1dh Рік тому +1

    Of course it's Nahida doing all the Dendro Archon stuff since Rukkhadevata never existed in this samsara. But usually it doesn't much matter. In this case though I wonder about the timing. What is the ordering of events here? Hydro Archon dies before or after the Seven are summoned to Khaenri'ah? If the Hydro Archon died after being summoned, perhaps died fighting in Khaenri'ah then at the same time in the prior samsara Rukkhadevata also died and therefore couldn't have later gone to Tunigi to create the big tree stump. On the other hand Nahida possibly could have since she didn't die during the cataclysm in the new samsara where she replaces Rukkhadevata. Well originally she was supposed to have been found by the scribes around that time but she could have done it a little differently and gone to Tunigi as a youthed version of herself and then come back to Sumeru city.
    On the other hand if the events of the fight sequence in Tunigi are right then the wave of Hilichurls that was falsely reported as an army of attacking monsters of the Cataclysm was yet to happen, since the Khaenri'ahn non-pure blood citizens had yet to become Hilichurlified. We see it happening after the Tunigi fight is over when crewmen of the Warden in the desert reports becoming sick. By contrast Ei was fighting Hilichurls by the time she follows her sister to Khaenri'ah. Probably. So was the Tunigi fight before the summons of the Seven? In which case was it the summons of the Six because the Hydro Archon was already dead? And how did she die if there had been no big fight yet? But at least if these events precede the summons of the Seven then it allows a not dead yet Rukkhadevata in the first samsara to create the big tree stump. Or I guess the history of the first samsara could just be different on this point but there seems no reason it would be.
    Also why on earth would an Archon be in another Archon's territory doing something dangerous?
    There's also the question of how the return of the Sibling fits in with this sequence. Are they back from escaping the fight with the Unknown God at this point or is that still in the future?

    • @YashRakeshGawade
      @YashRakeshGawade Рік тому +2

      Greater Lord Rukkhadevata still existed. Irminsul wiped her from the memories and records of Teyvat. She still existed 500 hundred years ago when all this drama happened. That samsara thing was an analogy, in the sense that Kusanali will now fill the role of the Dendro Archon which Rukkhadevata previously used to, after the Greater Lord's death. Samsaras are different from the real-world timeline.

      @@YashRakeshGawade Well youtube eats links but if you can find the text on the wiki the main characters discuss the nature of Scaramouche's relationship to Wanderer a few times. The clearest is when Wanderer first meets Nahida. Wanderer says something like "these people [traveler and Paimon] told me that apparently I have a dark past I've forgotten about". Nahida says no, that's not accurate, rather those events don't lie in your past but in a place much further away than the past, a sort of "past life" maybe. Paimon suggests the phrase the "past past" instead of the "past". The idea that Wanderer is Scaramouche at all is questioned by Nahida, not just at that time but repeatedly later, for example during that event about the competition for the Akademiya crown. For whatever reason while accepting it didn't happen in his past, Wanderer nonetheless disagrees with Nahida about his moral culpability for the crimes the other-him committed in the past past. At one point he point blank asks Nahida "Am I evil?" and she says that depends on whether you believe you are him.

    • @YashRakeshGawade
      @YashRakeshGawade Рік тому +2

      @@DavidJohnson-ib1dh If we take that discussion verbatim, it invalidates a very large portion of the storyline. All the actions that the Wanderer committed as Scaramouche were real and part of the same reality that he is in now as Wanderer. If that is not the case, Nahida storing his past as a story has no significance at all and Wanderer's hatred towards Dottore is unfounded. I think those dialogues have more metaphorical value in the sense that, through Irminsul erasure, he has been provided with a new chance with life. To further explain this the Eternal Oasis still has a chair with Rukkhadevata's initials inscribed in an encrypted manner. This points towards Irminsul being related to memories and records rather than being a total reality warping instrument, because otherwise, all encrypted records of the past would have no significance and also would be erased. Not to mention the damage to the lore and loopholes that it would create story wise. Also, Nahida has no memory of events prior to 500 years because she did not exist prior to Greater Lord Rukkhadevata creating her. She believes that she did, due to Irminsul, but she has no actual memories.
