  • Raiden Ei is the current Electro Archon of Inazuma, succeeding her sister Makoto in the position. Both of them have been important in Inazuma's history, and have witnessed many of the tragedies that have befallen the nation. In this video, I talk about these stories, and how it affected the two sisters.

    I'm curious about how Makoto got away with recreating Ei's body after the archon war. Not just because it's a loophole in the conditions of the archon war, but because the Heavenly Principles got aggro'd when Egeria "created life" by turning the Oceanids into humans, as creating life was out of the archons' jurisdiction in the Heavenly Principle's eyes. We know the method with which Egeria turned Oceanids into human mimics -- the primordial seawater -- but I wonder what method Makoto used to bring Ei back, and how this method makes Ei distinct from the puppets she herself created.

      Not quite sure, but Ei's story quest teased that Makoto might have know more about Istaroth than she let on. Or perhaps she was in cahoots with her, who knows? If one of the shining shades was involved, I doubt Makoto would have faced repercussions like Egeria did.

      she simply preserved ei's consciousness and then ressurected her using her new powers. egeria literally created her own version of humans which really is against celestia's rules. that's just very simple to understand. ei also tried to do the same with makoto when she found her dead in khaenriah during the cataclysm but she was too late, that's why makoto's consciousness still lingers in her realm of consciousness but it was just her will to make ei unlock the true power of musou isshin with ofcourse, the help of istaroth.

    To this day I still wonder how exactly the Fatui thought they were gonna get the Electro gnosis. My guess is that they thought with enough subterfuge that they'd be able to apply leverage to make her give up the gnosis. Obviously the reason they resorted to subterfuge is that a fight with her would not be an ideal scenario, just like how they avoided a fight with Zhongli. But would Ei have willingly made Yae give it to them?

  • @readerofalltrades
    @readerofalltrades Рік тому +27

    I think people take Ei's comment on her getting not deceived too literally. You can disagree but here's how I always looked at that specific scenario. Firstly Ei or any other archon is not omnipotent. (Even Nahida takes help from the aranara and children to gather information, Venti might be an exception due to his connection with the thousand winds but we can't say for sure.) So it is highly likely Ei didn't know everything that was going on outside her realm. She may have had a hunch about who might try to stir up any problem but not the entirety. Her medium of information, the Shogun had tunnel vision towards eternity (Which was Ei's faulty programming to begin with tho) and she was being fed wrong information by both the fatui and the tenryou commission so it is highly likely the shogun never informed anything in depth to Ei. Ei knew the fatui existed yeah but not how far it had escalated. Does this mean Ei or the Shogun are any less at fault? Nope and it is precisely because of these flaws I enjoy Ei's character (and her growth) out of every other archon except Venti.
    P.S: If I'm not wrong that bit about Ei sacrificing her body to let Makoto be the Electro archon is from a novel? I think we should take that information with a bit of grain of salt since it kinda brings up more questions and problems for how archon selection process went during the aechon war. Since it kinda conflicts with what went down in Sumeru.

      The same thing also happened to Andrius the wolf-god in Mondstadt. He didn't think he was fit to rule Mondstadt as an Archon so he sacrificed his body so that Barbatos may ascend. Honestly, the rules of the Archon War are sort of murky at the moment, there's a lot we don't know. For example, we don't know when exactly it ended and what the conditions are for the war to end in a nation (like, why didn't Rex Lapis kill all the adeti and yakshas considering they could've also been candidates for Archonship if the rule was that only one god per element was allowed, and why couldn't the same co-existence between gods that happened in Liyue and Sumeru also happen to Mondstadt and Inazuma).

    • @attorney_rosa
      @attorney_rosa 25 днів тому +1

      @@teacherbuknoyofficialif your theory about celestia only allowed 1 archon is synthesized with the theory of Rex Lapis killed Guizhong, then it makes sense. All the adepti are Rex Lapis' subordinates, except Guizhong. Guizhong was the only person who share Rex Lapis' throne. If your theory is correct, then it was probably Celestia's order who for them to kill one another. Plus Zhongli only kill others to fulfil the contract, but Guizhong didn't have any contract with him, so it must be the third party contract who's at play on her death. My guess is always the contract between Zhongli and Celestia
      But if that's the case, it's baffling about the three gods of sumeru situation since all of the three were alive after the archon war.

    The timey-wimey weirdness of Inazuma is unexplored. For example in her memories Ei sees her three friends and herself having a picnic. The Kitsune Saiguu is dressed as a shrine maiden of the temple, but, according to Ei herself, at the time she is recalling in that shot, (prior to Orobashi's death and so at least 2000 years ago) the Sacred Sakura did not exist, and would not exist for another 1500 years at a minimum. Furthermore the dead Kitsune Saiguu's memories and corruption end up forming Kazari / Hanachirusato the spirit being with the mask who talks Traveler into performing a cleansing ritual on the Sacred Sakura, even though they died around the same time the Sacred Sakura was first created, 500 years ago. So are the Kitsune Saiguu's memories changed along with everyone else's 500 years ago just briefly before she dies? Or do they only change after she's dead, which would be... more weird than average I guess but not impossible?
    If they'd dropped all the timey-wimey stuff with Inazuma I guess there'd be no reason to revisit any of it, but since they doubled and tripled down on it in Sumeru maybe there'll eventually be some answers for Inazuma.

  • @davidjohnson8273
    @davidjohnson8273 Рік тому +7

    Why do you think the Archons had to meet up at Tunigi hollow? According to Folio of Foliage pre-samsara version Rukkhadevata dies there while creating the Gaokerena from her body. Therefore either the whole Archon summons stuff with her going to the Irminsul while the others went to Khaenri'ah had already happened, freeing her to go to Tunigi and die afterwards, or else the irminsul was at Tunigi hollow in some sense. Either way the other Archons had no reason to be there too because Rukkhadevata says she went to a different place than they did. Also the ordering of events seems off. When Makoto leaves to go to Khaneri'ah Inazuma is already battling monsters. But if that represents an event prior to Rukkhadevata coming to Tunigi and fiddling with the Hydro Archon's corpse, then the Archons would be summoned before the citizens of Khaenri'ah fled their homeland and therefore before mass Hilichurlification took place, and before Khaenri'ah lost control of it's robots, so what exactly were the monsters they were fighting in Inazuma when Makoto left?

    • @SiliconOneFour
      @SiliconOneFour  Рік тому +9

      Well the Hydro Archon died at Tunigi Hollow against the onslaught of monsters, she likely wouldn't have been in Sumeru for any other reason. We have been told that the Seven were summoned to Khaenri'ah, so they would have had to go through Tunigi Hollow to get there. And the monsters in Inazuma came from the Dark Sea, where so-called "Evil Gods" went after the Archon War.

    • @zhongven4ever
      @zhongven4ever Рік тому +2

      @@SiliconOneFourthis is only in the assumption that Tunigi Hollow is the main entrance, because it could be that the Khaenriah entrance there is only ONE of the FEW entrance. The area of Tunigi used to be one of their facility, not the actual Khaenriah site. Some people tried to leave through that entrance, including Dain.

    • @davidjohnson8273
      @davidjohnson8273 Рік тому +1

      @@SiliconOneFour Now I don't think we know why the Hydro Archo died, or why they were there. But it seems as if there's some problems with guessing it was there to fight monsters issuing from Khaenri'ah. For one, why aren't the other five Archons there too? For another the Hydro Archon dies before the fighting starts, at least the fighting that the Pari took part in (since they didn't exist until after the Hydro Archon's corpse was hit with Khvarena energy from Simurgh). Were there several waves of monsters? But the citizens of Khaenri'ah are just fleeing at this time. Was there earlier fighting deeper underground before the evacuation of Khaenri'ah? But then wouldn't the corpse of the Hydro Archon be deeper underground if it died in that hypothetical underground wave of fighting? Well I suppose she could have been wounded and them limped off to the surface, to die in time for Simurgh to show up, before the next wave. I don't think we know at all what the Hydro Archon was doing there or why it died.
      To add to the complexity according to Folio of Foliage the history runs differently when Nahida replaces Rukkhadevata in the 2nd samsara. Rukkhadevata creates the Gaokerena from her own body but Nahida makes it from .... something else... presumably the dead Hydro Archon's body. Why the change? Everything else we know about samsara shifts says the differences are minimized. Well it could be simply that Nahida isn't dead and Rukkhadevata did die, so all the events closely tied to the death of Rukkhadevata (like using her corpse to make a giant white lotus inside a giant tree stump) are necessarily changed. But.... does it matter to anything?? Rene says in the 2nd samsara (since his note book, as a book, would have changed text) his body is like unto the Gaokerena, meaning he's Hydro in some sense? Is this something? Or nothing?

    • @davidjohnson8273
      @davidjohnson8273 Рік тому

      @@zhongven4ever Yeah if Tunigi was a route then .... well why didn't the Archons just use the perfectly good door that Traveler later finds. It's pretty close. But also how do monsters pour out of the Chasm if the only route to Khaenri'ah is located in Sumeru? How do they end up in Inazuma? It feels like each of the seven nations were attacked at once or else if they all came out of one exit then when Sumeru won their fight the Cataclsym would never have got past them to any of the other six nations. And if the Chasm was just monsters from Sumeru then how did any monsters get past the Chasm to get to Inazuma?

    • @SiliconOneFour
      @SiliconOneFour  Рік тому +3

      @@davidjohnson8273 We do know what caused the Hydro Archon's death, as it said she was stained by corruption. And the Cataclysm likely didn't just last a day, it was a large scale event. Simurgh's sacrifice and the Pari came quite a bit after a seal was placed on Tunigi Hollow, as the tree itself became corrupted over time.

      The sakura planting thing was made possible with the help of the god of time istaroth so ei is not affected with the change because she planted the seed in the future which implies that the god of time has the ability to tamper with cause and effect (ie she reversed the effect of ei planting the seed in the future and the effect that the tree grew in the past). This explains why the people can physically see the tree from time immemorial but ei not remembering it existed since her timeline overlaps with the reset.
      It is worth noting that ei's story quest does not say that the sakura tree had something to do with irminsul so that might only be a speculation from the community. However it did explicitly say that makoto sought the help of the god of time istaroth.
