@@viaaaaaaaaaaaaa This series, I've started reading out comments outloud besides vocally reacting to the episodes and when I read yours I was gradually going from excitement to confusing with each K word 😂😂
"bookish-looking pervert that strokes orchids" is the funniest description of Jon i've ever heard. He just can't catch a break can he?
Isn’t it interesting Celia teleported to Oxford and then Chester just HAPPENED to read a statement from Oxford…
Pretty sure Oxford isn't the highlight of their situations

Also, Celia and Sam absolutely come off as two queer people in a heteronormative relationship. Can’t tell me EITHER of those people are cishet

Sam: Constantly goes looking for horrors even after being told to stop
Sam: "I’m not a big horror fan"
If Colin has been gone for weeks… that REALLY reminds me of season 1 Martin hiding out from the worms…
Exactly! I’m worried about him. 😥
But, the last time we heard from him, he was trying to hack one of the computers, so maybe he’s just found a way to make the system ignore him and not spy on him. Or he’s just really good at avoiding cameras and recording equipment now. 😅
It also kind of reminds me of the episode of the video where the guy eats a computer.
It made me think of Sasha & not-sasha, with the mention of Celia having seen him despite him not being in.
I really doubt he’s been gone at all. He seems extremely obsessed with his work and Celia saw him hanging around during that time. I think he’s actually been shut in inside the building the entire time, tinkering with the system and avoiding people as much as possible. It’s not that he’s been home for weeks, he never went home. That’s what I think, anyway.
“Telling him way more than I meant to” that sounds like Jon pulling a statement out of somebody
So that's why patrons were asked to BE NORMAL about this episode.
BOOKISH AND SOFT?!?!?!?! FIRST MENTION OF OUR BOIS?!?!?!?
Glad I'm not the only one who picked up on that
its really funny to read such sort of spoiler comments and then hearing the part of an episode that it mentions 😂
We better hear their marriage
I thought the same.
Agreed
5:20 Wait… that… the receptionist and the other guy in the waiting room. Those sound a lot like Martin and Jon, right?! Are those our boys?!!! 😭
(Also, Darrien’s little comment of “Thinking back, I almost wonder if the same thing happened to them…” ARE THOSE OUR BOYS?!!!!)
I didnt catch it on the first listen, but i mean yeah it does sound a lot like them

The way he is insisting at the end about how he is a good person despite everything reminds me of the person from tma who stole people livespam

A interdimensional serial killer but only of his other selves? Now I want a movie of that
therapy in tmp so good you even get to met your alternative-universe self!!
I love that Alice and Gwen are becoming friends very slowly. Slowburn ftw
Oh Darrien, never trust the rich, even another version of yourself.
Damn, he really pulled an uno reverse.
celia is still looking for information about parallel universes / alternate dimensions ..... theres no way she isnt the celia from TMA
She's also communicating with FR3DI- and FR3D1's feeding her cases about traveling between worlds 👀
She totally knows them- remember how she said FR3DI "sounded familiar," ?
The feeling of the walls being so thin you can hear everyone else makes me think of the eye
As I'm currently listening to my neighbours' dog barking, my first thought was "so true", but your interpretation is lovely
HOO BOY! Another episode that sends my theorizing brain into _overdrive!_ 🤩
1. Celia is still sleepwalking, or sleep teleporting or something. And this time she wakes up _on train tracks_ with a train heading towards her! Holy shit, girl! Whatever is happening to you, I really hope you get help for it, because _yikes!_ 😬 (I have several theories forming about her “sleepwalking”, especially after this episode, but none have fully solidified yet.)
2. Celia tells Sam that she was in Oxford. If that’s true, that’s quite far away, which is why I suspect that Celia isn’t simply sleepwalking. Either she’s teleporting somehow, or maybe another consciousness takes over her body from time to time, and fully uses transportation of some kind. 🤔
3. Another statement directly from The Magnus Institute! At the “Oxford Outreach Center”?!! About doppelgängers and alternate dimensions?!!! The details in this statement have me asking _several questions!_
- Is this branch called the “Outreach Center” because it’s near the rift, and it “reaches out” to other dimensions? Or to people who come through from other dimensions?
- What is the Welling Mutare Materia research program?! And why does it involve incarceration?!
- What made Darrien cross over?! Was it the therapist? The meditation? Everything described about this Dr. Dumfries seems suspicious as hell, so I’m guessing it’s something to do with him… or maybe it’s because (possibly) people fitting the description of Jon and Martin were also in the waiting room?!
- What the hell happened to Darrien during the transfer to emaciate his body to such a degree?! Holy shit, dude! Either dimensional travel is not instantaneous, and it actually takes an exceptionally long time but holds your body in stasis or something, or it’s just a particularly rough crossing somehow. 😬
4. Celia talking to FR3-D1 is kinda cute. Although the phrase “Not exactly the same, is it?” has me _thinking._ So, I assume Celia didn’t kill the version of herself from this dimension, but I have a feeling there’s a reason there’s not two of her running around… Is that why she has a son now? The baby is actually from the version of herself from this dimension?! CELIA! I need more information! Tell me your story!!!
5. COLIN GETS MENTIONED!!! Sure, it’s just to say that no one but Celia has seen him around lately, but at least he’s been mentioned!!! I’m so worried about my grumpy paranoid IT boy! I really hope he’s okay, and is just _really_ good at avoiding the cameras and recording devices now.
6. Another .jmj error on Alice’s computer… I wonder if only her computer gets them. I assumed it happens to the other computers, but the two times we’ve heard about it so far, it’s happened on Alice’s computer both times. Coincidence? 🤔
7. Alice was great about opening up to Sam and Celia about her bad experience, last episode, but neither she nor Gwen are good about opening up to each other. I feel like Gwen is isolating herself, trying to shoulder this new job and horrible responsibility alone, and we’ve learned before that that’s not good in this line of work. I worry about her…
Thank you for this
@TheNitpickChick See my response to @elliesteele2027 down below for Question 3.2 and as for Celia...I totally think she's from the TMA reality too. But that likely means that Darian's from a different reality too, unless you recall a TMA episode where Jon and Martin were at a therapy session together.
Didn't even think abt why darrien teleported but I'm thinking celia and the spiral had _some_ kind of fun time and part of it is in her (idk if its tmagp spiral or tma spiral or if there's only one of the fears across the multiverse) also maybe it's bc of my celia spiral theorising but dr dumfries was giving that one gaslighting doctor from tma energy
Loved multiple of the things you said!! Your theory on the Outreach Center and why Darrien was so emaciated after getting to another dimension both made a lot of sense to me. I also definitely think that someone/something is trying to tell Celia something with her waking up where she does, and FR3-D1 is trying to tell Alice something with the errors…
Also, I never thought about the fact that Colin might just have gotten really good at avoiding being recorded! That’s some incredible insight (hah, get it?), thanks!!
Ok so I think Celia is teleporting. Reason? If Derrian transported to this dimension from a different one then that may be why Fr3d1 gave her that incidient, why she says thanks "but its not really the same thing", why she says it isn't really useful because it doesn't give her insight on whats happening to her. I don't think shes transported here from a different dimension like Derrian did, I think she is just teleporting randomly and probably in her sleep. Whats interesting to me is that she knows a lot of Magnus related stuff, specifically Magnus Archives stuff, so if she is from another dimension she could have ties to the Institute and/or the entities and fears at large. But I wonder if maybe her intentions with Sam aren't pure; that maybe shes getting closer to him because he was a Magnus kid back in the day, and maybe thats one of very few ways she can get closer to asnwers
Those HAVE to be our boys right? They can’t NOT have been Martin and Jon, RIGHT??
At any rate, Alex and Jonny really FED US this episode, the tma stuff is abundant and scrumptious.
(Also Darrien is a slay, if I found a version of myself that was super rich I would also not feel too bad about taking over his life and locking him up in his torture basement 😊♥️)
It's a Statement! IT'S A STATEMENT! GUYS GUYS GUYS WE GET AN ACTUAL STATEMENT!
wait ¿An Statement? ¿IT´S THAT A MAGNUS REFERENCE?
@@Lem_de_Lemon I'm just saying that this episode is structured as if he's giving a Statement to the Magnus Institute.
Solo estoy diciendo que esto episodio suena como si el esta dando una Declaracion al Instituto Magnus.
You know a show is amazing when hearing the word Oxford makes you go “OH Shit!”
Before the statement actually begins, something called the "Welling Mutare Materia research program" is mentioned. Mutare materia is Latin for "change material", another link between the Magnus Institute and alchemy.
quick question, why are people talking so much about Alchemy in relation to tma?
Oh I heard Weyland Yutari and thought of Alien. As Celia is called Ripley it would have been a nice touch…i was already speculating who might be an android and what kind of alien infestation is going to plague our heroes
@@savvyhowe1646 Because it appeared repeatedly in the ARG that served as a promotion/teaser for TMP.
@elliesteele2027 Alchemy is related to the transmutation of ordinary metals into gold, creating homunculi and the Philosopher's Stone, the elixir of eternal life, some master work...
Being an alternate reality copy of someone from another timeline could easily fit into that bracket, even if it's pushing things a little in places. I mean, think about it: if those at the Institute discovered something alchemical that related to the Fears, what do you think they'd do with that knowledge?
@@elliesteele2027 oh okay, I never got to see the stuff involved with the ARG's unfortunately, thanks
The phrase “The Vicious” was capitalized like a proper noun in the CC when Darion referred to his father as “the vicious bastard”. That plus clean stainless steel mixed with a love of torture. New Slaughter iteration?
Ohhh, yeah it could be the slaughter. Tbh I was willing to believe this was just about universe hopping with a scary twist, minimal Fears involved.
A sadistic entity like that could help explain needle guy from the emergency call a few episodes back.
CC is auto-generated by UA-cam, there is no meaning in where the robot decides to capitalize or punctuate

BUT OH BOY DID IT GLITCH WHEN SHE SAID IT WAS OKAY

Wait is the mansion reminding anyone else about Hill Top Road ?? It would make sense that different dimension people would meet there because of the breach right ???
Oh! I didn’t think about that! It reminded me more of a guest for Mr. Spider due to the road name! 😮
We already had a Hilltop episode. It was some antique store and people get crowding it beyond capacity with random shit, usually things that seem familiar from TMA I think. I'm pretty sure the Stranger were involved but I'm not 100% on that. Still too soon to know what kind of creatures we'll get
While im not sure its a 1:1, i myself couldnt help but mentally connect the staircase going down into the basement, with the one from tma
@@yriiiiiii you mean in the tunnels?
@@hamburgerdog25 no, meant the staircase in the house on hilltop road. I probably couldve made that clearer
It's interesting that when CELIA gets teleported to Oxford we don't only get a report in Oxford but we get a Report about DOPPELGANGERS, Alternate Universe's as well as possible mention of the universes special little guys.

18:21 Annabel Caine said the power would be moved and hidden back to the corners of the world(s) they were sent to. She never said the eye would stop ruling…
20:16 that one guy from TMA who said he was good and had to live so he’d take others lives to keep living and keep giving to charity! That what this sounds like!
BEAUTIFUL WORK!!!! I LOVE THIS!!!!!!
You know what this series could use? A kaiju. Not like Godzilla, no. No no no. Something more Lovecraftian, narratively. Something VAST that lurks “down there” in the deep. And we’d best not disturb it. It’s horrible enough when it just moves in its sleep. Humanity might not be able to survive what it could do if it actually woke up and started acting purposefully….
And Sam and Alice have already disturbed its slumber when they went exploring the ruins of the Institute...

Annoyances to lovers? In MY horror podcast?
After my hyperfocus on tma and tmap ended - i listened to it all in two weeks - i pulled out my guitar and realized i have free time again. Literally a minute after this episode came out.
So was the other Darian aligned with one or more of the powers or was he just a run-of-the-mill serial killer? The only obviously supernatural part of this statement was the first Darian’s crossing over into another world and the Magnus Outreach Center. If the other Darian wasn’t an avatar then kudos to Rusty Quill for making him sound just as scary as one. There’s something uniquely terrifying about the idea that an alternate version of yourself wouldn’t need to be possessed by any paranormal forces to become the villain in a horror story and instead would just have to go down a different path in life.
It could be Slaughter (violence and anger issues), but I agree that it sounds much better if alt-Darian was just an ordinary psychopath.
@@unfelinoerudito419 Just like Melanie if you think about it
The best ad-lib I've ever heard. ❤
A true ad-lib master 😆
Punctuation. It's important.
Well damn, this episode has a lot to cover so let's get started! First, we get some more of Celia and her whole situation. Seems like she's experiencing some sort of paranormal sleepwalking as she was unconscious and woken up by the sound of the train. It's also worth noting that she was in Oxford (if she's telling Sam the truth) and the case was from the Magnus Institute's Oxford Outreach Centre, plus she seems to talk to Freddy after finishing it. She said "Thanks, I guess. Not exactly the same though is it?" and said the case wasn't very useful to Alice.
The first part is alluding to how Celia is also probably from a different world like the case subject, but seems like she didn't slip through the crack in reality like they did.
The second part is what sticks out to me though as Celia previously asked whether it was possible to search through the cases based on their keywords, so it could be she wants to find more cases that are similar to her own. This one was but it didn't really tell her anything besides what she probably already knows: that people can just fall through the crack in reality into a different world.
I also think its an odd detail in the transcript that Alice was wearing earbuds while Celia was listening to this case and that she returned the earbuds (presumably to Celia) after it was finished. This makes me think that Celia doesn't want the others to listen to cases about people crossing into different worlds to keep suspicion off herself.
Next, let's talk about Alice's computer problems. A "jmj error" doesn't seem to be a real thing in our world, so either its just a random term for an error to add to the otherness of the Protocol world or its referencing something specific. I've seen people say it could stand for Jon-Martin-Jonah but I'm still not convinced Augustus is Jonah's voice. I'm guessing it has something to do with Alice's encounter with the tape recorder lady who drowned, though what exactly I'm not sure.
Finally, the case itself. Poor Darrien definitely fell through a crack in reality like the one in Hill Top Road, based on the fact he ended up somewhere in Oxford (Hill Top Road is somewhere in Oxford and we know from TMA that people who fall through the crack end up in roughly the same place in space). It also seems like he ran into an alternate version of Jon and Martin in his old world (the new receptionist matches Martin's description while the new patient sounds a bit like Jon, albeit an unflattering description of him). I don't think its OUR Jon and Martin, that'd be a pretty cruel joke for Jonny to play on us. Poor Darrien also mentions the weird time discrepancies we've heard before in TMA, where the "present" isn't always the same across worlds.
The last thing to talk about is actually the start of the case: Poor Darrien is labelled "candidate PD553" which if this is the same thing as the codes associated with the children from the Institute's Enrichment program, he must've crossed over quite a while ago since those codes are in the thousands. His viability as subject, agent and catalyst are all low which makes sense since it doesn't seem like there's any Fear that's particularly present in this case. He is instead recommended for the Welling Mutare Materia research program. Mutare Materia is Italian for Change Matter, which almost certainly means this program is dedicated to researching things that fall through cracks in reality, which would explain why the Institute has an Outreach Centre in Oxford: to keep an eye on the crack.
You are a genius. I screenshotred this comment and immediately shoved it into my “Magnus protocol theories” album haha.
Ah yes! Meeting another version of yourself who is just better in every way..
The true horror!
Alice and Gwen being best friend is what i'm rooting for ! They would take over the world by lunch if they decided to work together !
"Thanks, I guess?" SHE'S TALKING TO FR3DI ! And FR3D1 gave her a case related to falling into another world ! Cool. ^^
Reminds me of Martin talking to the tape recorder, only this time the tape recorder is kinda talking BACK! Yeeeeee!
I love the episodes structured like statements, you can really hear Jonny sink his teeth into them. Like he just settles right back into it
1:33 Pre-case
3:39 Case (Tear, Eye) [Statement: Chester]
20:30 Post-case
While I know the crack in reality isn't technically caused by any of the powers, it is connected to Hilltop Road and was the focal point of the Web's plan in Archives. (Also I put Eye because Institute)
Update: (September 12th 2024)
I've changed the Web categorisation to Tear (as in the Tear in Reality) since while it doesn't seem directly Web related, it's still the main focus of the case.
There's also the stranger too
I was assuming Stranger because of the copy. Even Anya never met herself in our reality.
@@etienneporras7252 I really don't think this was Stranger. The other Darrien never seemed in anyway uncanny, the statement pretty much outright confirmed the first Darrien hopped universes, and we've even received proof that alternate versions of the same person _can_ exist (Gertrude, Gerry, Georgie, etc)
@@elliesteele2027 I do realize this now. Somehow to alternate universe stuff escaped me on the first listen and I still didn't quite get it on the second listen. I agree that we now have absolute proof that other versions of people exist, I just wonder if there are still two Anya's out there mucking about the same dimension.

This one reminds me of the Daphne Du Maurier novel “The Scapegoat”, which was also about a man living the life of his double.
This episode reminds me of the stranger who was trapped in the table. It could take people's likeness and voice. It happened to sasha.
This is so light TMA episode #114 Cracked Foundation, The woman to to HIlltop road to clean and ended up being pulled into "The Crack" and the returned two weeks later in a world slightly different to hers.
I know someone who shares a full name with a reoccuring character from TMA yet I managed to go 5 whole seasons of it without a single person having my name and now here 17 episodes into TMP this is the SECOND episode with someone with my name and there's 2 of them!!!

Those people in the waiting room sounded a lot like Jon and Martin
I think one of the entities might have to deal with torture and anguish. Needles might be an avatar of this one
I wonder if the entities grow more refined with each world they escape into. Maybe at some point, they may become actual eldritch gods with a will and mind of their own. The dreaded apotheosis
Did Celia get teleported, or did she just wake up next to a train station and was woken up by the passing train?
Being a victim of the stranger, she may be prone to unusual behavior post-post-apocalypse. Possible one of the powers “puppeting” her while she sleeps, or inducing dissociative episodes resulting in amnesia when she wakes up.
Hello, Jon.
Apologies for the goon session, but I rather wanted to make sure you started rizzing, so I thought it best not to announce myself. “Felt good to talk” “telling him more than I meant to” “only interrupted to ask for times and dates” EYE AVATAR ALERT
I wonder: why is Celia a fully fleshed human with, apparently, her memories intact, when Chester, Norris and Augustus are (for now) only voices trapped in an old-fashioned software? Was she the real Eye's special little girl?
Who is to say her memory is intact? She doesn't remember who the father of her child is which I find very suspicious, I think she was already pregnant during the eyepocalypse and didn't know, only finding out after she somehow jumped universes
@@TabbyeLynne My sentence was wrongly phrased: I don't think her memory is perfectly intact, but she seems to remember a lot (enough to understand she is from another universe).
As for Jack's genitor, my current hypothesis is that Jack is the son of Protocol's dimension Celia and that Archives Celia just took the role of taking care of the baby because the other one didn't want to him (or died, or something else). But your proposition is acceptable too. At this point, we have no certitude
@@CamilleChauTempsDesCerises I keep seeing that theory that Celia took Jack from her dimensional counterpart but I think if she had meet her she would know what her real name is, I think there's a Lynne Hammond out there somewhere who knows exactly who the father of her child is, maybe she is still in a relationship with him and she and Celia might cross paths "on screen" at some point in the future
Just speculation at this point obviously, we'll see
@TabbyeLynne I totally forgot that Celia wasn't her original name. Though she could know about Linn but still keep Celia because she's used to, plus it's easier to blend in rather than havung an homonym that also looks exactly like you
WHY do characters in horror stories go to the basement?! It’s rule number ONE to NEVER go to the basement.
To be fair to statement giver-Darrien, he deliberately _didn’t_ go into the basement. He just pushed his alternate universe self down the stairs and shut the door. 😅
Well this guy didn’t
Putting aside the computers they use are buggy, Colin hurry back you knew something was wrong and then disappeared, if Alice is constantly getting this repeating error could this mean something is wrong with her or something bad is attached to her? NotSasha also had repeated computer problems in TMA.
Have we heard TMP universe Celia, or is everything from Celia been the version from another universe (TMA possibly)
my guess for why the Fears aren't quite the same is that they were wounded by dimension-hopping, just like Darrien

@RustyQuillPodcasts This needs to be moved into the The Magnus Protocol Playlist please.
@RustyQuillPodcasts Thank you! The detail in all aspects of worldbuilding is just. . . PERFECT! I'm looking forward to seeing what you have planned for the rest.
This reminds me of a Moffat story in Dr Who - behold the terror of meditation!
I finally caught up! I'm listening to a Magnus episode on the day(ish) it came out!
i liked this one! also i want the two of them to be friends…or more perhaps??
Man, I love the Winter King episode of Fionna & Cake
The last time I was this early, I lost myself in a crowd...
THE BOYS? UN E-BOYED?
Was he emaciated because he was being eaten by a spider 🕷️🕸️ 7:24
In this world like on hilltop road there maybe a basement to fees the spider and John and Martin are stuck there as she pulls people from different people from the multiverse
Falling through the cracks 10:40
I'm supposed to be studying for my test later but I think this is more important🙏
Same here buddy
The implication of this are huge. Really makes me wonder if a certain someone ever meet their dublicate 🤔
Assuming you are talking about Celia, I doubt it, if she had meet her other self she would know her real name but she is still using "Celia"
@@TabbyeLynne Oh I didn't catch that she doesn't know her name anymore. Tho that's a cool other mystery.
Anyway [Spoiler] I rather meant the cleaning from the original series which came through Hill Top Road into the universe of TMA.

WE FUCKING KNEW IT WAS YOU CELIA YES
Okay, this was fantastic!
Darren is a big mystery here. It appears he teleported to another version of him and after what happened it reminds me of how the Not-Them would take over, except it appears we see it from another perspective.
There is a lot of weird shit going on, and I love it!
JON AND MARTIN??? IS THAT YOU??? GOING TO THERAPY??? MY BOYS??????
The Magnus Institute got mentioned again
Best part of my week!!!!

SPOOKY! THURSDAY! TIME! NOW!
I cant be the only one who hears "Wayland Yutani outreach research program."
I really hope colin is ok... 😫 Where has he gone to...
DR DUNPHREY??? IS THAT YOU DR DAVID????
BIG SOFT LOOKING GUY???? MAH-TIN MY BOY 😭😭😭
Okay so its confirmed. There truly are Alternate realities and poeole can, somehow, traverse between them or fall into them.
Maybe this isn't the universe that our John and Martin fell into... just a relevant universe to the narrative?
I'm in denial, i feell really sad by the idea that our John and Martin may have ended up as just... voices in a machine
