    Mike Pannone just motivates you to want to stop making excuses and train and practice. When he said “I can’t do that because it’s occluded and I only have one eye. Then I figured that’s just a bullshit dodge excuse. You can do whatever the fuck you want if you decide to do it” was all the motivation I needed. Hell, if you get really good at target focus, occluded sighting with your dot, you can just leave the front of your dot covered and never have to worry about your dot getting washed out from light.

    I’ll have to work on this. If Mike can manage this with one eye then I have no excuse for not being able to do it with my two eyes. My left eye needed correction when I was younger and is still very much weaker and submissive to my right eye but that is something I would like to work on. I’ve never been able to bring the sights on a long gun into alignment from my left eye and have wanted to work on that for a while now.

  • @Cryptic1911
    @Cryptic1911 Рік тому +14

    Yep, this is legit. I did this accidentally once when I showed up to a club meeting and only had a short time to shoot before hand. It was getting dark and was clammy out, so as soon as I got the pistol out, the lens was completely fogged over. I didn't have a cloth, so I said screw it, I'm just gonna run it. I ran the whole set of plates just as fast as I usually do. I was seeing the target with my left eye and the dot with my right eye, and it just merged them together. It was pretty interesting that it basically made zero impact on how I shot

    Would be nice to see a self competition from front to rear with sub-compact weapons, in stages. Do it with full size and sub compact to see the difference in target hitting. Most people I know don't carry a fullsize specially now because of the heat, and its a different process going from full size to sub-compat or even nano.

    • @tropicalpines4585
      @tropicalpines4585 Рік тому +1

      I’d argue that’s only doing them a disservice by adding an extra step and creating a bad habit. I’ve only shot pistols with irons until this month, but about 4 months back I started shooting target focused. I threw on the dot and while I could use improvement I haven’t had the huge uphill battle some people describe when they switch from irons to red dot. I credit this to shooting irons target focused and lots of dryfire.

      @TropicalPines45 if it works for you, then it is neither wrong or stupid. What division do you primarily shoot? I just got to B in single stack and have been an A in production for awhile, but I like golfing too much to always be gaming at the range.
