I never thought I could find a video on this song. I’m so hyped
Awesome 👍😎
Texas blues. From Austin Texas. Tommy Shannon, Chris Layton, Charlie Sexton, Doyal Bramhall Jr. "Double Trouble"
Mike to Be honest I have seen a lot like Him thats why i am here , rock on Man
That ain't country. Blues rock, Texas sound. Dirty and mean. Love it. Nice lesson.
Thanks jim
Thank you😊
Very welcome 😁
Great lesson!
Doyle Bramhall's dad, Bramhall Sr. played drums and was Stevie Ray Vaughn's mentor.
SRV covered Bramhall Sr.'s tune Change It.
SRV's vocals were similar to Bramhall Sr.
Doyle Bramhall II + Double Trouble + Charlie Sexton. Seen them live in Boston twice..amazing ...
+Chris Spates niiiiice
Actually, Mike, you still managed to make the SRV connection just by listening to this one song which tells me (and most of us) that you have a great guitar ear and knowledge of musical styles. I thought this was a modern "metal" band too based on the band name until giving this lesson a look. Keep bein' strong to the finish. The real wimps are the ones who are eating free burgers and paying you any form of disrespect instead of thanking you for helping them gladly play on Tuesdays. : )
Dude, I love this song!
Hey thanks for this, It has a SRV sound for two very good reasons, 1 Tommy Shannon bass and Chris layton drums were SRV's bassist and drummer. 2 Doyle Bramhall has been credited by stevie ray for helping develope his guitar and vocal style. ;) great tutorial.
In other words it was double trouble
Mike , hey Bud great lesson bro ,but i've been playing this song for years and you don't have to "Drop-D" it! That first lick , you do your 3-5on the D, on the A 5-3 open down to the first fret F,but other than that rock on dude!!
Texas Blues Rock...saw them in Nashville around the album release time, small club and they blew the roof off...great show!
ya-guess im not a teacher now.damn-21 years later-ive been teaching and now realize im not what I thought I was;)
your a great guy elf.i appreciate you and im glad you "get me" my friend
thanks brutha t
nice lesson! i play it in drop-d also, sounds like it might been recorded that way. here's my rendition of it arc angels living in a dream
oh - and the rhythm section of the Arc Angels was SRV's 'double trouble' - Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon
great to see this lesson! I'm also going to check out your 'top 50' lessons. BTW - one of the Arc Angels' guitarists/vocalists was Doyle Bramhall II - his father wrote songs for SRV.
john caffertly and the beaver brown band garden of eden and the dark side awesome stuff
Oh wow, thanks brother, you really are super cool!!! But I already knew that... :)
Mike I absolutely love your videos but I have a request for you and a challenge of sorts it’s a song by phish called Time turns elastic.
Great band . And tough haha
Hi. Great lesson! Could you do a lesson on "Too many ways to fall?"
Thank You Mike Your the Man !
How about Arc Angels See What Tomorrow Brings ? Great tune !
Fun to watch and learn dude.
Mike I think I need to explain My last comment I watched it and thought He was doing a lesson but all He done was showed Me he could play it My comment was ment to be sarcastic .
not to take away from His ability but His very words at the first of the video was( show You How) .
Hey Mike, well, unfortunately we went our separate ways a few years back, but a few of us have been talking about getting back together and having another run at it. It's crazy how much it takes to keep everyone happy in a band. Starts out with everyone happy, gung-ho, and ready to go, then after a few years of constant practicing and gigging, it starts to take a toll on everyone's nerves. Hopefully we can get it all worked out. Thanks for asking. How you been?
Anthony (OfficiallyUnknown1)
I hear ya, and Mr. Mike Gross makes it look all too easy as well... But, that just goes to show how good he really is. You're absolutely right, it is a marriage, but without the "good part" LOL... Thanks brother, and I'll hollar at you through regular messaging, that way we don't hijack Mike's lesson(s)...
WOW MAN THATS COOL
Oct 1 or did you mean Nov 1st? Is the DVD already available?
u can post here whenever u want brutha
