The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is the premier late night talk show on CBS, airing at 11:35pm EST, streaming online via CBS All Access, and delivered to the International Space Station on a USB drive taped to a weather balloon. Ronan Farrow helps remind me there are good people in this country trying to make the world a better place. Seeing someone use their gifts and privileges for the greater good rather than their own self interest is reassuring.
Sadly, it is the exception that proves this rule. Like the Disney heiress, they highlight the fact that so few of the wealthy produce useful offspring.

I honestly don't care about his parents - I do care about his stance that whistleblowers and journalists with conscience will keep the conversation around integrity going, often at great personal risk. Bravo!

I may not have a deep interest in who his father is, but I can’t deny that I’m curious, because it is definitely my nature to be curious.
Ronan Farrow is amazing. If you've never looked him up, he went to college at age 11 (!!!!) Did a bunch of humanitarian work, worked for the State dept., all that before becoming a Pulitzer-winning journalist, and has also written several books--and after all that, he's still only 31 years old! I would love for him to run for president someday.

jon lovett was a speech writer for a war criminal. the first president to ravage the constitution with such ferocity by supporting drone warfare, the perpetuation of illegal wars of agression, extraordinary rendition which is kidnapping which is criminal which is an international crime, drone assassination against innocent people. what is wrong with you. wtf is wrong with you. and ronan was to be the next democratic presidents PR guy or diplomat guy. he is eager to be a war criminal servant like lovett, just dying to get in the war profiteering game. it is obvious if your really listen to what he is saying between all his fuzzy speech about women's rights.

@@thatdutchguy2882 The dismissiveness of your comment tells me you may not know what he went through to get these stories out, the vicious and unrelenting way he was intimidated and threatened by Weinstein's mercenaries. He did risk his life, his health, his sanity for an extended period, in order to tell these women's stories. Read about what he survived. You may change your mind. A late night comedy talk show is not a place where he can even begin to touch on what happened to him. Take a deeper look.

@@mooalijasmine that, and we see today why it always needs to be brave people because the need for transparency never ends. They just hide different things in new places. Eternal vigilance is needed in journalism on democracy’s best days. These are not those days, so it matters more too.

I get so too and had to remind myself it’s a late night comedy show. It’s an extremely serious subject but probably not the best forum to speak about it.
Colbert has an affair going with his own image. I call him Narcissus for short. I agree with his politics, but a small bit of him goes a very long way.
Yeah. Colbert gives me creepy vibes. Anytime he has a guest talking about this type of thing he is noticeably dismissive and tries to move it along. Can't forget he too has powerful friends he doesn't want to upset and is in powerful circles himself.
@@e1234-n1c I'd like to think that Colbert is on the good side, but ultimately a celebrity is a celebrity, and their world is so far removed from ours, with their own loyalties and politics and skeletons that you're right, it's hard to 100% trust him. Weinstein was abusing women for decades, everyone in that world knew it, and as far as I know only Brad Pitt actually got in his face and threatened him; the rest seemed totally ok until it became cool to speak up about him.
