Dude, you are a master painter,,, I see some of the colors you use in layering and I'm like"NOOO", but when you are finished it's really incredible and lifelike, absolute works of art, each one!!!
I love pike. My great aunt has a cabin on a lake in Minnesota and we go fishing there every few years when we get to visit her. The pike from that lake at least have almost no flavor of their own, just a very clean easy taste that takes on the flavor of whatever you put on it. We always just do a light flour breading with salt, pepper, and some chili powder, then shallow fry and dunk in homemade tartar sauce. Delicious.
That was spectacular. Also very on par with my 25 yrs of trout fishing. I definitely would have released that trout in the very intentional manner you did. Well done man.
Hey Marling, must say, I loved the guitar music at the beginning w/ the sped up baitmaking. It was so calming and peaceful alongside the carving of the wood. Thanks as always for the fantastic content! 💕
18:03 "Alright I wet my hand." This went from try not to hurt the trout for safe release to a "don't hook me" self defense situation real fast :) Awesome looking jerk baits dude! Wonderful video as always! Edit: And Yes, you NEED a net lol :D
Definitely need a net, Frabill conservation nets are my favorite, couple different sizes, some are collapsible. Carbon fiber long handle, super super light & they float most importantly! It's what I use I'm my kayak. I thought the handle is a little long at first but now I come to favor the longer handle. Helped me land my last 4 biggest largemouths this summer including my PB 9lb 3 oz - 8.6 - 8.05 - 7.4! Awesome baits as usual! & yep pike are super boney, fun to catch, not so much to eat.
Marling Baits, you and your channel, and other creators, has given me a new hobby to try and get out and enjoy. For someone like myself, who has developed a chronic illness, I have been having a difficult time finding activities that are engaging and give me joy. You have helped more than you'll ever know. Thank you, from a fan in Seattle.
It never ceases to amaze me how well you have your technique down to create such amazing action in your lures! I always look forward to what you create next!
Wow that was a huge brown!! Some more fishing in that spot for redemption on another huge trout is definitely in order!! Also don’t eat or kill a trout that size it could be years old and as it’s a male it’s got some great genetics for future fish!! Also small trout around a pound taste better and are usually more plentiful!! That trout was definitely in the 5 or 6lb bracket hard to tell though!!! Well done mate! 👌🎣🔥
Those baits turned out great, the pike definitely prefer it. You’ll love this, went fishing along a few streams the other day. About 3-4 hours in, minimal bites and catches, one of my friends chimes in with “heh, bet we’d be doing better if we were using Marlin Baits”. Four old men along the shore were just laughing our asses off. See the influence your having on us. We’ll keep watching and fishing. Thx!!!!
Beautiful fishing man, definitely top fishing video from you I've seen. I've been watching since the "quiet" days. You got me into soft plastics...told the wife to blame you many times.
Very nice video again, but just a tip, better use fin titan or steel leader for those baits, because in the end you get a nice pike on and it snacks off. You would lose your beautiful bait then and the pike would probably die.. But that's definitly no hate, I love your videos so much please don't understand this tip wrong.
That brownie was a beast!! Big dude like that is a worthy inclusion to the gene pool though so as much as he would've tasted great, he'll definitely be out there making lots of other fish.
18:00 that’s a big beautiful Brown & I never keep them. I only keep Rainbows to eat, when they’re Stockers. I fish for trout mostly in KY & a few places in my home state of GA. but, that’s just me. I also don’t keep bass, unless someone is trying to remove dinks from their pond(s)…then, they’re delicious.
Smaller fish always have a better taste, especially trout, good to see ya getting on the trout bandwagon recently tho, been loving it, they fight like crazy aye 👌👌
Greetings from a lure maker in germany ✌️. There is actually a way to easily cut 5 Filets out of the pike without those y-bones. Those Filets coated in breadcrumbs are very tasty. I really enjoy your Videos
for an almost bone free pike meal, just fillet the fella. My favorite fish to catch, and great eating! I love seeing baits being made that you absolutely KNOW are gonna catch fish!
Hey Marling, I'm from Upstate NY and catch many Pickerel and Pike, we like to fillet them and send the fillets in a meat grinder and turn them into fish balls or patties depending on how much fish you have, deep fried they are amazing
Might I suggest that you invest in 2 action cams. Put one in each end of the test tank under the water. Could do some videos on just testing baits that people send. Underwater shots could give you more information. But, as always, you keep knocking it out of the park!
Catching trout with over sized jerkbaits in small streams might actually be the best thing I've ever seen 😍
Nipples on not a woman; arguably quite a bit cooler.

Your hooks are awesome like watching your UA-cam videos
Can't even lie, I'm jealous of that new spot you found. A bunch of pike and massive browns is basically my dream.
I love pike. My great aunt has a cabin on a lake in Minnesota and we go fishing there every few years when we get to visit her. Not to mention the way they fight! They’re actually the fastest moving freshwater species of fish known to man.
@@zap2747 i thought i hooked a whale the first time i caught a 10lb pike on spinning gear xD
а мне вообще нравится вкус щуки даже с привкусом травы
That was spectacular. Also very on par with my 25 yrs of trout fishing. I definitely would have released that trout in the very intentional manner you did. Well done man.

I forgot how relaxing your videos were. You always put on the best music.
By far the best Marling fishing I’ve ever seen. Brown trout of my dreams, as I watch from New Jersey!
18:03 "Alright I wet my hand." This went from try not to hurt the trout for safe release to a "don't hook me" self defense situation real fast :) Awesome looking jerk baits dude! Wonderful video as always! Edit: And Yes, you NEED a net lol :D
Does anyone else say "be free" after every release now, and also just randomly say "one day" throughout the day?
I always say be free now lol
It's o-fish-all
Yes
Hand carved is so legit and those blues in the background 👍

i love it when you do trout fishing because where I live in Australia there is only trout to catch.
Love your videos man. Good to come back and see you’re still at it, gonna binge the past couple years lol
Missin your content, yay! Sunday baits day!

As you were catching that trout I was like, “he needs a net” so it was funny when you said, “I gotta get a net!” Glad you released the brown.
I love your videos and the fishing in Iowa
Fillet and skin the pike, then season with Johnny's seasoning salt and dredge in flour, fry in real butter. Great eating. Have a great day.
You got a real artistic eye.
Realistic beauty for a lure.
The baits you make are so realistic I don’t know you you do it but keep it up man!
Definitely best vid of the year man! All of them are awesome.. but that was pretty freakin sweet. Epic editing work as always.
It never ceases to amaze me how well you have your technique down to create such amazing action in your lures! I always look forward to what you create next!

My man makes so many real looking lures, he forgets he can catch fish!
Master designer, master painter, master-baiter! 👍 👍
Love you fishing new baits

Absolutely loved the guitar for the montage, im ask for this more often

That transition from a live pike to a beheaded and cleaned pike was jarring. Nice video.
That music that was playing while cutting and sanding gave me some hard-core OLD school marling baits vibes
Great day😮👍♥️. Some great lures also.🌟⭐️🌟

Such an amazing artist you are!
That crank/jerkbait with the bloodline looks awesome. Absolutely perfect
You make very nice baits, I'm trying to do something myself. Your painting is just madness. Respect to you
When your lures work in the wild that well that's the most impressive of all
4:51. I laughed way too hard when the exopy came shooting out the eyes 😅

HAHAHA calls for an extended get ready for winter just throw baits sent in. Maybe a QandA with the Mrs and kiddos :D
Dude! These are impressive multi species bait. I would personally really love to see more of them in action.
I love trout, definitely would have kept it, but pike is amazing to eat as well
I was wondering if we would get a video today or tomorrow. Sure didn't think we would get one tonight. I'm happy. Thanks
