Nah, Black Mesa differs much more. It has more maps, scripted sequences, etc. The part before Xen is basically what Half-Life 1 would look like if made in relatively modern day.
It's a matter of getting Remix to work on Crowbar Collective's version of the Source engine. Reshade is all that will suffice for now, but it's not the most efficient.

Not on Xash, you'd need to force replace the LD files with the HD ones. Honestly I don't suggest it since the models are lower quality in the textures. PS2 moment.

Black Mesa's polygon counts would make it extremely difficult to path trace on anything that isn't a high-end RTX 40-series GPU, anyway.

This isn't RTX, it's HW-accelerated Vulkan path-tracing over OpenGL. RTX is a propriertary software.

It's purely experimental, but imo HL1 is better in gunplay than BM which is derived from HL2's. Especially in the AI. Kinda lacking.
It was nice. But not worth the insane hardware requirements to run it (unless you love upscaling).
