As someone who has had an EPI E10 chassis with the Vaughn Gittin Jr Ford Mustang RTR; they're not bad and super easy for beginners to learn and even to slight intermediate to bash. These are casual RC drift cars. I like these because the aftermarket is good and relatively cheap. Body shells prepainted from HPI are super nice with a complete package. I wouldn't pay any more than what you paid for one brand new. That's what they're worth and that's it.
Be interesting to see if it is still fun to drift. Likely, with drift tires, it won't really "need" more rugged aluminum parts. There really is no excuse though for not having oil filled shocks at $200, especially with all of the other lower quality parts.
I wish you could feel the plastic through the video. It’s like Happy Meal plastic and doesn’t inspire much confidence. Plus, did you see that driveshaft?! It’s just sitting on my shelf looking cool at the moment.
I shaved down the battery retainer thingy and now I run a bigger battery works fine just bought some Valero straps off amazon and one on the battery and one of the chassis and it works great
I tried to get this car for over a month but was out of stock, then I ended up getting the Hpi rs4 sport 3 mustang for 260$ and I didnt know how lucky I was that the E10 was out of stock untill now!
Hi...nice video...In RChobby it's normal to have some tools to make minor changes in original design of any model...I done minor changes on my Traxxas, Thunder Tigers, Duratrax, Vaterras, Tamyias, Kyosho, Hpi, Himoto, and Associated( I have an Nitro TC3 all new, never used, ) models...in each car I made some times DIY minor changes and...this is the sense of rc hobby...the first upgrade for E10 is to install 12x18x4 mm set of ball bearings.....
I know this video is from 6 months ago, but if you still miss your Redcat, take a look at the HSP drift cars. Some of the Redcats are the same car as HSP but HSP are usually less money.
I have this car I swapped the connector out for a traxxas and run a lipo traxxas battery with no issue only issue I have is front axle falls out with a decent front end crash. Love the car
You might be the only person I’ve ever known to PUT ON a Traxxas connector. Everyone else I know ditches them for something more common. (I just use adapters.) much respect.
Not sure where to start on this HPI for the price. You get what for how much 😜friction shocks and chassis battery area oh boy! I do like the body but it’s a crazy layout. Tomorrow at 7pm est bro should be epic😎🤜🏻🤛🏻
I know! I’m bummed but there are tons of upgrades for it, but if I upgrade it, I’m going to be in it for well over $350! It was supposed to be a cheap drift missile.
What length shocks does it use? I might have some spares (unused) that are too short for my vehicles - could possibly send to you as a form of supporting your channel (which I enjoy).
I think they’re 60mm. This car has been heavily upgraded since I made this video, and has a sweet set of Integy digressive shocks. I really appreciate the gesture, but I have so many vehicles to play with and I’m spoiled for choice. I know there are lots of people out there that need them more than me. Just watching the video and enjoying them is plenty brother. Thank you so much!
I would like to know the details on your original drifter the one you sold off to your buddy! has he changed it up?You should have him bring it by and do a update Video on it! Just as I’m curious as shure are some other 10 scale fans! BTW I love you channel it is because of your content why,,, I got my Kyosho fazer witch I turned drift er after watching you your shinanigans! keep ‘em coming my man!
Great video! looks flimsy, I would buy another redact drifter, they even come with full metal gears in brushed form and of course, a metal driveshaft. I've had mine for 4 years now and love it
I actually bought an E10 which is the Michelle Abbate edition and I gotta say...I kinda regret buying one....every plastic part I touch and feel is very fragile and not the high end quality plastic parts like what Traxxas uses. For $200+, I can’t say if it’s worth it or not :(
A buddy of mine had the hpi e10, it was terrible, the wheels kept flying off without using threadlocker lol. Uses screws instead of nuts. I had a sprint 2 drift and went through belts like crazy so I got rid of it and told myself only shaft-driven on-road vehicles from now on. How's the redcat lightning compared to the e10, would you reccomend the light ing over it in terms of quality, durability and performance?
Yes yes yes. I bought this to replace my lightning, but in retrospect, I could’ve spent about the same money on a lightning and this body. Oh well, live and learn.
@@10thScaleGarage I'm hearing good things about the lightning. I'm an onroad guy but recently been into crawlers. Waiting on an everest 10 should come tomorrow and might pick up the lightning soon. Thanks for the reply :)
Noooooo....and it looks so cool! I see your frustration with the cheap build. They could have done better for $200. I have seen better kits on rcmart for about the same and less. I can't wait to see you rip it though. 🤞👍
HSP FLYING FISH! the original redcat lightning. Check on banggood n such for a deal. I got my 10th scale hsp brushless buggy rtr with lipo for 150 a few years ago loved it. They seem to have gone up in price a wee bit. But yeah thats what id go with. My buggy wrecked havoc on my friends thundertiger (with all aluminum upgrades) ran into each other and i ripped his axels off and busted through one. My hsp buggy was fine lol. So look for the hsp flying fish. I believe they make a dedicated drift chasis as well on a hsp model but dont quote me
Yeah, all of the videos I watched about it were giving it all sorts of praise. I really don’t see why, other than the fact that they were selling them or making commission.
Also if youd like a great deal on some old stock of Rcs find me on fb and message me bud. They need new batteries but brand new. Bought one myself and love it.
Love the channel but everything you are saying is the RC industry standard. It’s a cheap price because it doesn’t have the expensive components. Buying a cheap car never saves you money.
Thanks for the support, and I totally agree, but This wasn’t exactly “cheap.” Compared to the car that this replaced, and others that I’ve had in the past, this one was definitely the worst. You’d be way better off with a Fazer, Vaterra, Lightning, or a 4-tec, for just a little more.
I had upgraded mine aswell and decided to give it away to put a smile on someone else's face. It was fun as a drifter very controllable. I would not purchase another one. Just my opinion 🤷
The plastic of this model reminds me the Tamiya gay made rc cars. The appearance of the plastic reminds something low quality. If i should spend another 200 dollars for upgrades i will not buy it. At least sell it more expensive but much better.

I have so much invested in mine now.... it’s kinda crazy. Definitely not a great value, but you’re right. The HPI bodies are super nice.

I did something similar! Thanks for the tip!

Nice! Yeah, the RS4 is a solid platform.
I'd actually recommend the RS4 Sport 3 Drift from HPI. I bought Dai's BRZ, and from personal experience, it drives amazing!
Yeah I’ve heard good things about that one.

do u think the HPI sprint 2 is still good considering that it is very old because I might buy it?
YES! That’s my favorite 4WD drift chassis.
Check out the Absima 12221 3.4 mate only £120 - brushed but has Brishless redy diffs & shafts only 450mm long but looks a solid buy for £120
Smaller battery or lipo meant for cars that use stick packs
Yeah. I have some 1500 mah 2S packs that fit nicely.
How’d you mount the wing and mirrors? I just bought this body
Dude! Is that a clawback on your top shelf!?

Great video by the way😎👍
Thanks Joe!
You should have got a TT02. It is a lot more universal friendly.

Yeah, I really thought I did my due diligence with research before I bought it. I guess not.
The body looks really good though
For sure! HPI makes some of the best ready to run bodies in the game, in my opinion.
@@10thScaleGarage Yes they do👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Heard they use tamiya bodies.
Yeah, I could believe that.
How long does the battery last I’m trying to figure it out
The NiMH pack lasts about 15 mins. A 5000mah 2S LiPo lasts about 35 mins.
Not long at all😩 I just bought the rs4 for $340 and it pisses me off how fast it dies🤦🏽♂️ I do need an new body since they only had mustang

Just stay away from the E10! The sprint 2 is a legit awesome 4WD drift platform.

It has some issues but it does drive amazing 🤷🏻♂️
