awe thank you!! One thing that all my professors have really emphasized, is having a strong concept for your designs. I would say do alot of research (could be anything, books,movies,art, architecture) until you find something that really inspires you. once you find that it will be so much easier to create something unique! just remember they aren't expecting you to be perfect. Also neatness and having everything cohesive is SO important!!!💗
Your drawings are good! I on the other hand don’t even know how to draw! And wanted to apply for a fashion major 🤦🏻♀️ little did I know I had to draw and sow for the portfolio
I promise practice goes a long way! look up tutorials on UA-cam or take some local art and sewing classes. I recommend zoe Hong on UA-cam for drawing tutorials 😊
@@anisapierstorff I ordered mine from mood fabrics. A lot of companies you can buy fabric swatches. Or if you have any local fabric stores a lot of them will give you swatches for free(they usually limit the number) some companies have fabric swatch books you can buy to. You could google some 😊🤍🫶
I have a doubt that front view with fashion figure and back view with just the outfit alone is enough or should we do both in fashion figure. Thank you so much your vedio was more helpful ❤️
They focus a lot on fashion figures. I would definitely try if you could to include it. But I would say you can definitely get in without having figures in your portfolio 😊

hello I’m applying to fit this year and I’m confuse with the portfolio requirement, do you just submit your 1.mix&match 2.fashion artwork 3. Sewing project and no else? Or do you still need to submit other observation drawing? Very thankful if you can answer!
Yes for sure! just work extra hard on your portfolio and essays! FIT (at least when I applied) did not take SAT scores into consideration when accepting students. But maybe still mention the achievement of having a high sore in your essay 😊
You should do a before and after FIT. Like, compare your work from when you submitted your portfolio to now where you are on your 4th semester.

Does FIT give full ride scholarships?
The main thing I’m struggling with is the fabric swatches for my designs, how did you find/get the ones for your designs

okay so im so confused on how does schooling work in American like what are you when you apply? is it equivalent to uni in London?

When did you get your acceptance letter in the mail?
April 1st. I was waitlisted, so I got that letter April 1st. Then may 20th I recieved my acceptance letter 😊

You can only apply to a Ass as a firt years student, once you spend your second year you can re apply to the bachelors program
what did you write for your admissions essay?
I talked about the time I didn't agree with my diving coach, and how we got past it 😊
