- “Amazing Discoveries” was a late-night insomniac fueled INFOMERICAL! Before the internet, Before QVC, and Before Billy Maze … Mike Levy (1948 - 2003,) was “America’s Pitch Man” for products “As Seen On TV” you see in today’s retail.
Most of these clips aired between 1989 - 1992 when cable networks signed off the air at midnight!
I love UA-cam, used to stay up really late as a kid and watch these.
I used to catch beatings getting caugh watching this show all the time.
Mike Levy was my hero growing up. I watched him every morning before I headed out to work
Thanks for this. Haven't seen this since I was a kid
I think this was actually the first Amazing Discoveries episode because of this different version of the theme music and the opening spiel was done only once.
Thanks for uploading! This was the first Amazing Discoveries I ever saw. For me, I watched this every morning on the Nashville Network right before I went to school!
I used to watch this when I first had an Amstrad Satalite system back in 1991. I never noticed Ian ‘shushing’ Mike, at 11:45 before.
This just brings back really good memories, i use to watch this everyday after school here in England. I persuaded my parents to buy this painting kit cause we were refurbishing the house. Sadly they did not get this product and it took us four hours to paint one room.
Calmest I've ever seen Mike as host.
When i was 15 i watched this haha.. i love it
But before Mike Levy, there was Ron Popeil. He invented the "American Pitchman".
My ex would have loved this thing..
How to take the pain out of painting...☝🏼
Need to tweak the tracking 😁
I miss that show!
10:15 Ian instructs the director in the control room "bad shot" because the camera is on the view with the imperfection on the window frame. Still had to roll with the presentation, good on him!
Seeing Ian not being silly and goofy is very weird... Hell, the fact it's Ian doing the presentation is weird.
So.... if this thing is good, how come were still using brushes to paint?
Painting pads are quite popular. They're not magical, but they're good.
Ian sounds as if he is reading Shakespeare demonstrating this thing.
If Shakespeare had a Manchester accent 😆
Is there a more clear picture than this video? I know how old it is.
I used to watch it all the times
Ian sounds like Phil Collins.
Mike is a bit subdued here
Are these just scotch brite sponges? 😂
THIS ENGLISHMAN DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO YELL LIKE AN AMERICAN! THIS IS A COMMERCIAL!! YELL!!!
He would in due time
