I bought this wok based on this infomercial and still have it to this day. My favorite "Great Wok of China" dish is the beef with broccoli. Comes out perfect every time. Wally is a great salesman and the product totally lives up to his claims. This is a wonderful piece of TV history. One of, if not the best, infomercials ever made. Thanks for posting.

I bought one of these in 1990 and used it tonight for dinner. For whatever reason, I looked up the infomercial and here it is. Remember it more than I thought I would have. I've taken this wok on adventures all over North America. Cooked at concerts, tailgating, on vacations and camping! Everyone time someone asked about it, I couldn't wait to tell them it's an "authentic hand-hammered wok from the People's Republic of China." - one of my favorite lines. And the food still sticks on the sides!!!!! Still have the chan and the lid. Wish I had the fire ring. I'm guessing i paid $39.99 + s/h, but if I had to value for insurance purposes, I say it's priceless!

If you like this infomercial, check out infomercial covering Great Wok of China - ua-cam.com/video/f2sm5IBnwnA/v-deo.html
Dan, Dave and Mark tempt fate and get hand-hammered as they tiptoe on the third rail of the Great Wok of China! The boys go to cooking school with well-seasoned pitchmen Wally Nash and Arnold "The Knife" Morris. Today's lesson includes: the basics of wok cooking, a utensil deep-dive (C-H-A-N) and an explanation on appreciating the value of a few good dents. And just to be safe, they check in to make sure Clark is ok.

So great to find this! I used to watch on 'Sell-a-vision' back in 1991, to help me nod off. Unintentional ASMR long before ASMR.

Wow this takes me back. I seem to think that there's another version. I recall Wally doing a longer demo, commenting on the added handle on the wok (not seen in this video) and he domonstrated cooking using the ring on the inside to steam corn and some other items.
Still.. cool to see this. It was like 26 years ago and this was the "thing" that got me into wok cooking. I still have this wok and just used it yesterday...

I recall a later, second infomercial, with Wally Nash (but I don't recall if Arnold Morris was in it). The infomercial was pretty much the same except it was for a flat-bottomed wok. At the time, It made me chuckle because Wally used to emphasize the importance of the roundness. My guess is that the round ones didn't work well or weren't convenient to use on electric stoves, despite what he says. I do like this infomercial very much, Wally is so likeable, informative, and he has a sense of humor.

My brother and sister in law got one of these for their wedding in the early nineties and never used it. They had it in their garage sale for a buck and I grabbed it up right away. That was 20+ years ago and I still use it once a week. I just found another almost new wok from the same infomercial today for $3. I grabbed that one too!
