It is same price as the quartz. I bought mine after contacting Cartier and had a very pleasant experience. You can be put on a waiting list. It comes out in January because of production delays. They have upgraded the battery life on the quartz to eight years.
@@robinhenrywatches To my knowledge it is only out in selected stores, like the ones in Selfridges and De Bijenkorf in Amsterdam had license from July to sell it. But it is not widely available as of yet. They said that because of a huge interest that they have made it a policy to pay in advance to get on the waiting list. I couldn’t buy mine from the danish store and was referred to De Bijenkorf store instead and waited a month or so. Got mine a few weeks ago. I think the official launch will be in January or February next year though I don’t know if it is globally or not.
just bought the small one form my mom today after waiting 6 months for my AD to even get a part number to order it... also, i can get some colored dial tanks if you want
I wonder how much the service and replace of the solar mechanism will be. The battery quartz replacement always seems to come with a complete service and it is not cheap.
Interesting what you were saying about less appreciated Cartier watches. I recently bought a Divan XL auto in gold at a very good price. Hopefully it becomes my sleeper that will pay for my retirement!
Just called Cartier here and they don’t have it in stock and been told that it’ll arrive in January (MAYBE). No waiting list concept as they don’t want to commit to customers when they’re unsure of supply arrival date. Which I don’t believe because the dealers here could be pulling a Rolex hahahahahahahahaha. Cartier, we’re watching you 😉
Subscribed. Really enjoy the genuine review of the brand and the watch. Seriously considering putting my name down! Anyone know current lead times in the UK? Cheers!
Thanks 🙏 No idea on lead times. Still hard to find. I have one in our webshop but it is over retail price. Go and see your local AD and enquire as they may be able to provide more detail.
@@robinhenrywatches Thank you, I have arranged a consultation with them for next week. I see that the non-solar version is available to purchase directly through the site, so this particula model has definately drawn a lot of attention!
Nice episode 👌👌 I have so many questions first is this technology like eco drive watch from citizen ?? And there’s no second hand in the movement ?? I really want to see closeup video of the watch I’m interested to see how smooth it works , I’m with you 8 years warranty awesome 👍 Omega has 5 years which is great considering it’s automatic watch Rolex I think 2 or 3 years
Rolex is at 5 year warranty now, some authorised dealers extend it to 10! No seconds hand so you don’t see it. The technology is similar to most, it’s stores the energy fro the solar panels into a battery that then powers the main drive on the movement.
@@robinhenrywatches thanks as for Rolex I never met anyone bought Rolex from authorized dealers so no chance to enjoy those years when you buy from grey market there is 2 or three years gone on waste from warranty years because the original buyer kept it unworn to sell later
@@robinhenrywatches thanks for the info Robin! I’m going directly to Cartier here in Madrid to buy it. There are only a few left in Madrid but the retail price is a bit less expensive, 2700€
This is the reply from Cartier: regrettably the Tank Must Solar Beat was a limited Edition creation with no plans to reproduce. Cartier had pictures of the watch in the US website (unavailable online) but now even the pics are gone.

Interesting on the quartz upgrade thanks for advising.
I am presuming the January date is just for U.K. as European boutiques already have them?

Interesting. Mine was purchased from the Madrid Cartier boutique. They had several available.
Nice to see a video without dozens of hard edits. Useful info.
Thanks 🙏
@@robinhenrywatches Q: do you think SB resale values will decline as they age closer to the 16 year replacement date (in comparison to quartz)?
I doubt it as it should be a routine battery change. I don’t believe they need to swap the movement. We will find out in 16 years!

Always looking for the burgundy Tank, feel free to email me.
Your mum is very lucky you got her one! Hope she enjoys it.

A few hundred for sure probably. But after 16 years that wouldn’t be bad 🤷♂️
@@robinhenrywatches Has Cartier given any information about it?
Not yet. They haven’t said anything about the watch.
I just ordered mine, can’t wait to add it to the collection! ❤️
Enjoy it man. I’m still waiting for mine to come back 😅
Why? What happened?
Had a fault on the dial. Talked about it in a recent video. Hoping to have it back soon.

Some of the more obscure models from 70s and 80s are really undervalued and are the ones would put money into 👍

Yeah it’s all a bit hush hush.
Cartier London told me they were not available and were surprised when I said I had one from Madrid.
I just called Cartier, the rep said it was a limited edition and no plans to make any more. Now he could have bad info but that's what he said.
That would make mine very valuable 😁😅😂
Do you still have this watch? If so how’s its reliability?
I stupidly sold it. Reliability was fine. QC was not as it went back to foreign objects on the dial. Cartier did fix it though.
@@robinhenrywatches Cheers
No problem

I got a response from Cartier UK saying they’re available in February 2022
I have a new and unworn one for sale this week!

These still aren’t on the Cartier site:(
I thought they were… I have seen them for sale in the U.K. for sure through Cartier ADs
Is that the large? I’m going to buy the solar beat later today!
Yes it’s the large model.
We have a new large one for sale in our webshop www.robinhenrywatches.com/store/p/cartier-tank-solarbeat

Makes sense if you can get it from the boutique!
@@robinhenrywatches I just bought it! You were right about the strap being a bit small but it still fits well, thanks so much!
Enjoy! Tag me in some pictures on IG @robinhenrywatches
accuracy per year of this watch bruh?
Good question…. No idea 😂
Its almost 3k in France so ...
That steel feels ok to me on price.
So happy that you finally got one!! Shame about the short strap though
Thanks bro. I’m gonna head to a boutique in the new year and get it jazzed up 🙌
Cheers

Sir, you just earned my sub and respect on the Panerai comment. Brand makes me loathe. Ty sir, (tips hat)
Thanks 🥂

Noooooooo. I wanted one.
Interesting, we’ll see….
According to my research the watch will be coming out in January 2022.
Technically it is out, mine was from the Madrid boutique. Some countries obviously delayed so January seems viable.
